Lacelles is only player at newcastle whose a first name on team sheet
Clark and dummet still feature in defence, and Ritchie, Hayden and Shelvey do come from the bench.

I think that was the most enjoyable transfer window I've had since they changed the way scouting and recruitment was done in FM. It was certainly the longest in terms of time spent on it. Scouts in all four corners of the globe, plus lots of manual scouting and filtering through players. It was a summer of change in Munich. It had to be. We're lucky (in one way) this season in that we don't have European football to derail our progress back to the top of the Bundesliga. I can keep players fresh, particularly in February, March and April. Clearly, we need Champions League football as soon as possible, but for one season we're going to benefit from not having it. The board have made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that only qualifying for the Champions League will be acceptable this season. We're also expected to reach the final of the DFB Pokal. They armed me with €183m and I went to work! The first order of the day was getting shot of the trouble makers. There were a few. The worst of which was goalkeeper, Alexandre Jose. You can't be having your goalkeeper kicking off, missing training and not wanting to be here. Valencia came in with a €45m bid and he packed his bags for Spain, taking that fickle personality with him. Out went the interestly named, Biagio Degl'Innocenti. His attributes were more than solid, but he played like shit and I can't be dealing with a centre back that has 6 for jumping. Leeds paid €50m for his services. Guillermo Maciel went to Hamburg for €22.5m, which is probably a bit of a steal. We had five strikers though, so someone had to leave. The last cash deal was the €17.5m (rising to €25m) deal taking Berkant Bulut to Roma. I was never quite sure of what he was. Not good enough in the air to be a centre back, but not good enough going forward to play in my wing back role, or young enough to improve, so off he went. Nine players also left on loan. Now armed with a WARCHEST! In came: Horacio Arriola - €15m - San LorenzoDefenders that can head a ball are a rarity in this save, so when you find one, you buy him. Horacio makes the permanent move to Europe on the back of 89 career appearances, including two seasons on loan in Portugal and France. Looks like a proper defender. Aggressive, physical, but can pass a ball which is a necessity in the way we play. Moved around a bit in his career, so hopefully he can settle down now and fulfil his potential. Picked up a knock at the end of pre-season, but should be back in the team shortly. Frank Kouassi - €28m - ValenciaTransfer-listed at Valencia due to wanting to move to a bigger club, so we got him for a cut-price deal. Driven personality made him stand out, but he's also quick, works hard, composed and has the basic technicals locked down for a winger. Scout (and coach) report says he's inconsistent, but I've not noticed that so far - he's started brilliantly. Milico - €15m - HerthaWith Alexandre Jose leaving, I needed a new number one and Milico ticked all the boxes. I was amazed we got him so cheaply. The first thing he has on his side is age. Experienced, but young enough to be a fixture in the first team for the foreseeable future. He pretty much has the lot for a goalkeeper. Reflexes, positioning, concentration, bravery, commanding. Also has fairly decent leadership, something the squad is severely lacking. Leonardo Delorte - €5m - Racing ClubYoung Argentinian brought in to provide a backup option in midfield. I do like a 'complete' midfielder, and while Delorte isn't world class in any area, he has a good spread of attacking and defensive attributes and will be able to play in both my DLP and B2B role in midfield. He could play his way into contention, but I imagine he'll be used off the bench or in the smaller games. Christopher Moinard - €15m - LyonHe's the best young left back in the world, no doubt about it. My scouts were raving about him and it's not hard to see why. Already good enough for the Bundesliga and can improve a lot in the future. Needs to work on the technical side of his game, but I've worries about him mentally or physically. Rodrigo - €23.5m - HamburgAnother, big, powerful centre back. Driven personality. Physically, he's a monster, but his decision making separated him from the other defenders I scouted. Coach report notes his consistency. Borislav Radic - €1.4m - Red Star BelgradeOne for the future and a little bit of a 'project'. Got the wonderkid tag a few weeks after joining, and he could improve a lot in the future. I'm trying to tutor that fickle personality out of him already. Already has caps for Serbia and 'could be the next Dejan Stankovic'. Aside from his potential, I was impressed with his technique, first touch and composure and decision making, given his age. If I can change his personality, I think he could be the jewel in the crown in two or three years time. Percy Tafer - Loan - Man UtdI originally wanted him permanently, but United were willing to send him on loan, so it was a no-brainer to try before I buy. He looks like a top player. Marco Nava - €20m - LazioI had to fight for this kid as Lazio didn't want to sell and he originally signed a new contract with them. I had to wait, but eventually got him. There aren't many central midfielders in the game with finishing at 14, and add in some composure and he could be a real asset from the middle of the park. I'll try and teach him some PPM's to get that out of him, but I'm looking forward to seeing how he can develop. Didier Texier - €35m - EmpoliWith Moinard on one side and Texier on the other, we've got the full back positions sorted for the next 10-15 years. Texier is brilliant and I had to pay to get him - Empoli didn't want to sell, but our pulling power got him through the door. Great personality and consistent. There aren't many weaknesses to his game. Alex - €22.5m - Vasco de GamaAlex comes in as third choice striker, initially at least. We're his first club in Europe, so I expect a settling in period to occur, but he certainly has the attributes to a success. I'm a big fan of the complete forward type striker, even if I don't use the role all the time. Alex has everything you look for in a striker and will only get better. He's someone I found manually scouting Brazil's U20 team, so I'm particularly pleased with this one. Pavel Strihavka - €1.8m - Slavia PragueFinal signing and another project, of sorts. He's got a great personality already, so it'll be a case of hopefully seeing him improve from using better facilities. Needs a bit of work on his passing and composure, but he's fairly well-rounded elsewhere, for his age. He'll initially be playing for the youth team, but training with the first team. Absolutely buzzing with who I've managed to bring in. We've lowered the wage bill, the average age of the squad and we now have eight wonderkids at the club. I did want a marquee defender coming in, but I'd say 90% of the central defenders have at least one chink in their armour, be it they can't jump, can't head a ball, are slow or can't tackle. It's a weird game world at the moment. Very few attacking full backs either. The squad is a little bloated and currently home to 30 players. There are still four or five I want to get rid of, either on loan or permanently, but didn't manage to do it in the window. At least we'll have plenty to get us through until January! Pre-season was good and we've started the domestic campaign very well. A young team won 2-0 away in the Pokal against some goat herders. If we're being critical, we should have scored six or seven, but that will come. In the league we've won 3/3, beating Schalke 3-1 at home, Braunschweig 6-1 away and Hoffenheim 2-0 at home. Up next, a trip to Leipzig and the Red Bull Arena.

A decent few months for the Super Eagles, where we've put the disappointment of the CHAN defeat behind us, got over the uncertainty surrounding my job status and qualified for next summer's African Cup of Nations tournament in DR Congo. Qualification was about as easy as it comes. September's double header saw us draw 2-2 at home to Libya in an end-to-end game before we visited Togo and beat them 3-1. Maxwell Garba picked up a couple of goals and continues to prove that if he plays well, we generally win. He's the standout player, not just for us, but in Africa as well, and will be vital to our chances of winning thee tournament next year. October's double header saw the World Cup qualifiers start. To recap, our group contains Sudan (86th), Gabon (87th) and Congo (66th) which shouldn't cause many issues. Only the top team goes through to the next round of qualifying though, so we'll have to be wary of complacency. We've started well, winning 4-0 in Sudan and 5-0 at home to Gabon, Tony Kadiri scoring a brace in both games and, on this basis, we should be storming this group. The year ended with the final two AFCON qualifiers, including an 8-0 mauling of Madagascar at home and a 3-0 away with in Libya, both without Garba, who was injured, and included three goals in the first seven minutes against the Libyans. The table makes for happy reading an proves we were just a class above the rest, as you'd expect. No news yet on the FA expectations, but it's safe to say that I've run out of chances in disappointing them, and I expect they'll want us to reach the semi finals at the very least. World Cup qualification continues next year, but not until September, meaning there is 11 months between games. After two games, we top the group on goal difference from Congo, who we visit next. The AFCON takes place in June and are our next scheduled games. With nothing else due to be arranged, I'll set about organising some friendlies, although it seems hard with an African team because not many nations want to travel this far and the FA don't allow me to travel far for away games. Special mentions for two players at either end of their respective careers. Julius Musa has taken his chance at this level with a series of good performances, albeit against inferior opposition. The Everton man has settled into the squad well and has been scoring goals as well from the Box-2-Box role. At the other end, Wilfred Ndidi continues to make the squad and recently picked up his 172nd international cap, which is pretty bloody stunning. His legs went a long time ago, but the mind is still as sharp as ever. He'll go down as a Nigerian great. It's been frustrating off the pitch as I have so far failed to convince nine or ten players that their international careers lie with Nigeria rather than England or, oddly, Germany. If I can manage to change their minds, we could become a bit of a force, particularly in Africa. At the moment though, the extra travel means they don't want to swap allegiance, despite not being anywhere near good enough for those nations.

A big six months here in Munich as we have dominated the opening half of the season and currently sit on top of the Bundesliga table. Cutting out the rotten core has, unsurprisingly, worked wonders and we've benefited from a happy dressing room. Our only defeat so far has come at the hands of RB Leipzig, which I can just about accept. We've been very consistent in beating the lesser sides, something we failed to do in my six months of last season. The lack of European football, and only one domestic trophy, has meant that players are well-rested and that's allowed me to sensibly rotate enough to keep players happy. We're still in the Pokal as well, having beaten Armenia Bielefeld in the Second Round. Lothar Perchtold has put last season behind him and currently top scores with 11 Bundesliga goals. New boy Horacio Arriola currently has the highest average rating of 7.57. He's proved fairly adept at being in the right place at the right time from set pieces as well, helping himself to a couple of goals. The summer signings have all settled in well with none of them looking like they might be a bit of a flop. Rodrigo has had his game time limited due to an injury, but he should be fighting fit for the second half of the season. January might be pretty busy as I look to offload a few more of the unwanted players that didn't leave in the summer. The lack of European football has contributed to big financial losses over the last six months and a wage bill of €3.3m per week hasn't helped. Some experienced, but well paid players have deals expiring next summer and they won't be renewed. Sancho (€400k per week), Neves (€275k) and van Drongelen (€140k) are all coming to the end of their careers and it's time to move them on and put their wages to better use. Other than that, it's just a case of carrying on doing what we have been, take each game as it comes and try to win the title.

Our group for the African Cup of Nations. Morocco (31st) will be the main test and a quick look at their squad suggests that, man for man, they're probably on par with us in terms of quality. They have a right winger, 19 years old, at Leeds who looks the real deal and a striker at Schalke that'll be their main threat up front. Cape Verde (69th) and Equatorial Guinea (96th) shouldn't pose us any problems. The Nigerian FA expect me to win the competition, so the pressure will be on from the off.

2032/33 ReviewThe 85 points we gained this year has only been bettered once since the save started, by RB Leipzig (89) in 2027/28. The last two titles have been won with 73 points, but this season we raised the bar again and announced to the rest of Germany that Bayern are back. An average squad age of 25 shows this group can only improve, with that number probably going to get lower before it gets higher. We clearly benefited from having no European football. I can't remember the last time I played through a season so quickly. With no group games, maybe 4-6 knockout games on average and the lack of a second domestic cup (5/6 games), it's potentially 15-18 games fewer per season. I kept a settled team, able to make minimal changes where needed and we coasted to the title. The gap at the top could have been more, had we not lost a couple after the title was confirmed. The squad was disrupted a little in January when Man Utd met the €37.5m release clause in Tinoco's contract. I'd have liked to have kept him, but he was refusing to talk to me about a new deal while United were interested, so the writing was on the wall for a while. Nothing as far as any incomings go, but I've managed to take Bayern from 8th and 53 points to the title and 85 points on a net spend of nine million euros. Quite happy with that. Deservedly, Frank Kouassi won Fans' Player of the Year. He also won: Players' Player, German Footballer of the Year and Bundesliga Top Scorer. 19 goals and 15 assists in your first season, in a new country, with an average rating of 7.64, is pretty damn special. Lothar Perchtold hit double figures for goals (15), while Emil Owczarek did the same for goals (12) and assists (10), but neither got close to Kouassi, who is now wanted by a host of clubs across Europe, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and...er...Crystal Palace. It'll be a quieter summer this year, but we can't afford to stand still. Jadon Sancho and the rest of the over 30's crew will all leave, freeing up some serious room in the wage budget in the process. I'll be in the market for a right winger to play backup to Kouassi and am looking for a marquee signing at centre back. I don't envisage too many leaving. Anyone that was unhappy has had promises of Champions League football fulfilled and now wants to stay. Happy days.

Within a week of the transfer window opening and it's carnage. Three players, including Kouassi, have had their heads turned and openly want to leave. I didn't see this happening.

I started thinking about an appropriate end to the save. The summer of 3033 saw me guide Nigeria to African Nations glory, before I resigned from both them and Bayern. Brazil has fluffed their lines at the Confederations Cup, and were fifth in World Cup qualifying, so that job opened up. World Cup glory seemed like a good way to end the save. And with that, it's time for something new. Not a bad save by all accounts. I didn't manage to overtake Pep Guardiola at the top of the Hall of Fame in the end. Who knows, I may come back to it intermittently to do just that, but for now, something new, in a new thread.

Thanks to Robson encouraging m to post about some of my saves, I’ll throw out some of the more interesting elements. The first one alluded to here was a somewhat journeyman save that has taken me from Italy to France then Spain and finally England. Half way through this I decided to implement a Monaco Jardim inspired 442. Remind me to post the link to a thread on SI Basically the idea (with my own twist) is as follows Play with 2 strikers Press with high intensity, high up the pitch Allow one of the CMs to get forward and contribute some goals and assists Have a playmaker who operates like the no10 in attack but starts from out wide and provides defensive cover out there Cut down on crossing and have other kinds of assists be more key It’s proven really successful in many different leagues and a lot of fun to play. I’ve had strikers score boatloads (for example despite heavy rotation) I had 3 guys over 25 goals last season. My wideplaymaker has finally seen me get the best out of no10 types, for example last season I had 25 goals and over 30 assists from this role (2 players combined) It’s surprisingly solid defensively too despite the urgent pressing I am pleased that we don’t rely on crosses and the sight of a winger or fullback whacking the ball into the opposing fullback is much rarer!! For example in the last 50 games of our roughly 115 non set piece goals about 80 of them don’t come from crosses, including 35 through balls and 11 from forcing the opposition to make a mistake. Very much in line with the tactical vision Here's the setup - only key PIs are on the FBs to cross less Here's an example of how the shape works in possession - from the EFL cup final where we smashed Spurs 7-0 (who finished 2nd in the league) You can see how they are quite narrow and how the WPM (#11) tucks inside to get on the ball. Here's the WPM's heatmap from that same game - love how we gets on the ball on the edge of the final third but central. Or how he picks up the ball deep and wide once we turnover possession - its a great spot to hit raking thru balls from July 30th - added some screenshots

I knew it wouldnt take me long to get back into an english league save
The Owls are the side I chose, obviously a very well supported side outside the topflight and have not been in top flight since 2000
They last won top flight in 1930 and last won a cup in 1991
Squad stats
Westwood, Joao and Forestairi have been insane.
League An amazing season where we were top 6 from the off much to my suprise we ended up winning the title
Cups Carabao Cup, we beat Wolves on pens in second round and frustratingly lost to Scunthorpe in the next round
FA Cup, We lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the 3rd round.
Finances we ended the season on -1m And our transfer budget for new season is just shy of 40m

we survived, just! now to push on and make it comfy! Also Klopp, and Liverpool! wtf! these were the more expensiove players I brought in for the EPL season/jan we did bring in some loans from italy/germany but they didnt feature as much as these players! (i dont have a screenshot of squad perfomances due to being halfway thru ogh the next season. Currently looks like this So far looking comfy, but Man City spent 21m for our Martinez keeper. So had to seek a replacement quickly! So could go tits up!

Considering midway we lost our number 1 to Man city for 21m, to finish where we did was amazing!
late sub apps for Dawson when we winning comfy all season, to a) try help him develop b) to keep him happy, skewing his stats slightly! Roberts and Lewin operated great as inside forwards on either side!
Will Mannion replaced our number 1 I think I will stick by him based on what I have seen.
