Tennis Borussia BerlinIntroduction and 2018-19 Season Report
Inspiration and HistoryFM18 was a bit of a let-down for me, I really don't know why but in spite of me trying (I started around 5-6 games, something odd in me), so I tried and went back to the last save that stuck, which was back in FM17, in fact the only save I ever played in that game. It was a 12-seasons save in which I took Wrexham from the National League (5th tier) all the way to the Premier League, winning 2 Premier League Titles, 1 UEFA Champions League, 1 UEFA Europa League, 1 FA Cup, including a Big Treble (League, FA Cup and UCL). Basically I transformed a small time club to the biggest club in England and an European powerhouse. So, with that in mind I started to look for a lower league european club, in one of the big 5 leagues (Spain, France, Germany, Italy or England). As I had done with Wrexham already I discarded England right away. I'm currently watching a doccumentary series on World War II (World War II in HD Colour, terrific 100% reccomended), which has lead to me reading a ton about Germany and through derivation about German Football, specially during the Cold War. That narrowed the choice to two cities, Berlin or Leipzig. The leftist in me wanted to go Leipzig or East Berlin, but in the end the strange name and amazing colours of a West Berlin club caught my attention.Tennis Borussia Berlin was foundedin 1902 as a ping-pong and Tennis club, hence the suitable Berliner Tennis- und Ping-Pong-Gesellschaft Borussia name. In 1903 the club picked up football and managed to develop a rivalry against Berlin's big club, Hertha BSC. The club won two times the city league championship, in 1932 and 1941. After WWII they remained as Berlin's biggest side, but eventually when the Bundesliga formed in 1963, the club failed to be selected as a member, being relegated instead to the second division. Mostly a second-third tier side, except for two seasons (1974-75 and 1976-77) played in the Bundesliga.Several money problems have led the club to fall into Germany's fifth tier, the NOFV-Oberliga Nord, and have a semi-professional status.I already played the first season, as I wanted to see if it'd stick before publishing anything, most of the report was written before playing, though.Squad and TacticsThe squad had 9 players when I took over, plus a few on the II side and a full side of kids in the U-19 team (which aren't elegible for the first team). It was a good backbone, with a good youngish keeper, a young talented RB, a good prime CB, a good winger and two great veteran players an enganche and a striker. Still there was a ton of work to do. I had no budget to spend so only free transfers and as I said above no contracts as well. I found a couple of great players, to boost our central mids, plus a Russian winger who has even been nominated to the U-21 side (and eventually to the U-20 Toulon tournament). Still, before the start of the games I wasn't sure what to expect. I wanted to play a possession based 4-2-3-1, taking advantage of the pairing from the enganche and the striker, plus my two strong centre mids.
NOFV-Oberliga NordThe League was our only competition of the year, and The Board expected a mid table finish, while I decided to be a bit bolder and promise a top half finish. The pre-season was quite mixed, wit ha couple of good games, specially against Lok Leipzig who are a tier above us, but also a couple of heavy defeats against teams of that same stature. We kicked off against Staaken, a team projected to be the last on the league, and we totally bashed them, winning 9-0, a terrific start to the save, and we followed it with a 5-0 win over Strausberg. Unfortunately our run ended quickly as we were completely outclassed by Lichtenberg on the third matchday, losing 1-4 at home. Another 5-0 win, and a 1-2 loss had us with 5 games played, around the 6th position, either manhandling teams that clearly were not anywhere near our level, or losing against teams who could compete or were better than us.But them something clicked, the team started playing cohesively and we never looked back. After these 5 initial games, and through the winter break, the team never lost again, and only drew one game, winning the 14 other games, including an 11 win run. That put us in 2nd place on the table, two points behind the almighty Lichtenberg, who had only lost two games and drew none, inlcuding a loss against us, our revenge from that 1-4 at the start of the season. After the break, we unfortunately drew the first game, a 0-0 against Stendal which should have been an easy win. That meant Lichtenberg was 4 points ahead of us, with 9 games to go. We recovered quickly and kept on winning hoping they would fall at some point. Their first loss after the break came at the start of April, a 1-3 loss against Neustrelitz, and as we kept winning games, it meant we shortened the distance to a single point, with 4 games to go. And yet, they lost again, at the beggining of May, losing 2-3 against Greifswald, and we were at the top of the league, with a 2-point cushion, with 2 games to go. As we had better goal difference, we only needed 4 points to be crowned Champions and get the single promotion slot to the Regionalliga. Then, the pivotal moment came, that moment in all FM saves where the ball won't go in, until the 90+1 minute, when that reserve winger that has asked for first team football all season, and you know doesn't have what it takes, but still as you only have one international player, who was nominated during that weekend and left their spot to the complaining player, that same one, gives you the winning goal. That goal you celebrate as if you were on the pitch, celebrating a goal for your beloved club, against their rivals to win the league.Still, as Lichtenberg won, we had to win or draw our last game. Another torrid game, a nervefest that ended up being decided by a set piece, fortunately for our side as Wittke (our least talented player of the starting 11, a left back which I struggled to find, and one that had no backup, due to the lack of players in the position) headed a ball in, giving us the Oberliga title and the promotion to the Regionalliga.PerformancesWell, clearly we aren't a team of world beaters. I doubt any of these players are apt to play in the 2.Bundesliga (Regionalliga yes, 3.Bundesliga, only young players who develop into something nice), unlike Wrexham were I took a few select players even up to the Premier League (to be reserves, but still).Unfortunately, due to us being a semi-professional club, we lost 2 very important players as GK Verstappen and enganchge Thiago Rockenbach will leave the club on a free. This, added to the loss of goalscorer Karim Benyamina, who will retire at the end of the season. On a good note though, they were the top three salaries on the team and I think I can get cheaper maybe younger and better replacements for them. Our top players were Rockenbach, who as a typical veteran Brazilian enganche, led the team in assists, while scoring 7 goals as well, Benyamina, who scored a goal per game and had 8 assists as well, while playing 99.88% of the season's minutes at 36, plus our top two transfers in the season, two terrific young players in Alexander Vojtenko who scored 10 goals and assisted on 12, and our best player, Nelson Schultz-Fademrecht, who from the central mid position, scored a banging 16 goals, being our second best scorer.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- The club hasn't been able to turn professional in all season. I tried several times and the response was always the same, "we don't have the funds". The club is run by a President, with elections every 4 years. We had elections at the end of the season, and neither of the candidates made promises to inject funds or turn the club professional. - Money wise, we're on trouble. We lost around €500k during the season and there's nowhere to get funds as I can sign players to a max of 1 year (2 years for U-19), so selling is nearly impossible, sponsorship amounts to a total of €50k per year and we average 745 fans per game (led the league), a 4% of the council-owned stadium (15000 fans capacity, but only 1800 seated). So yeah, not much to do there, unless the President is willing to take a loan. - As expected no facilities upgrades whatsoever, despite that I'm quite happy with them as we've got Below Average Training, Adequate Youth Facilities, Average Junior Coaching and Average Recruitment. We had an interesting youth intake with several players who if developed correctly could become good players for us in the future. - Regarding the squad, I plan on scouting heavily for free transfers, while at the same time trying to secure contracts for starting players under €1k montly, and non-contracts for reserves with low game fees.
Sorry for the long post, probably I won't post again until second season, as this is still very much on the wire due to the financial issues, despite how much I want it to stick. Cheers!

Stunning first season Chaodck, you absolutely smashed it, especially considering the board wanted mid-table.
Shame about the finances as this could be an epic. Hopefully you can grin and bare it for a while and take them to the Bundesliga where all your problems would disappear. (Possibly even before that in the 2. Bundesliga, given the fantastic prize money on offer there)
Is it possible to boost your squad with loan players from a Bundesliga side? Hopefully without even paying their wages?

Thanks for reading Nick! Yes it was a brilliant season, but I think we were a step above in quality compared to all teams except Lichtenberg, who I still believe we were better than them. Geting to the 3.Bundesliga and staying there a couple of years might put us back in the blue quickly and allow us to become professional. This season I managed to get a few contracts in, part time, but that means teams cannot poach our players during the season, at least until January. I haven't tried to loan players as I don't really like to, haha. It might be a decent thing to try when we have a bit more of stature though, trying to get Bundesliga youngsters into a team playing in 3.Bundesliga.

Good start there Chaodck! Interesting choice of club, never even heard of them. You should be fine if you manage to get a decent position in the 3. Bundesliga. You could be on for a great save though, hang in there. FM is epic in making hopeless players matchwinners. Are 2. Bundesliga loanees an option maybe?

Tennis Borussia Berlin2019-20 Season Report
OverviewAfter a great first season in which we got promoted right away to the German fourth tier, the Regionalliga Nordost, the club was ready to take the next step in all aspects except for the financial one. Last season we lost around €500k and there's nowhere to get money from as the Chairman won't ask for a loan, ticket sales barely cover squad expenses, players are on either non-contracts or 1-year semi-pro deals which don't allow us to sell them and sponsorship money is truly laughable. At least, this season we'll play in the DFB-Pokal, against a big team at home, which guarantees one nice attendance and will boost our finances a bit.Squad and TacticsI retained around 9 players from last season fortunately able to offer them part-time contracts and thus protect them from being poached mid season. I had to bring in a big number of players, which obviously meant a ton of scouting through the unattached players. It was hard work, but in the end I felt we had a strong team, with interesting players and a few of them capable of playing a division above, and maybe even in the 2.Bundesliga if developed correctly. I kept the same tactic as last year, with minor changes to better suit the style I wanted, a bit more conservative than last season, where I was a bit gung-ho on the attack and possession, trying to dominate every team we played. I felt we were a strong side, compared to many here, but not nearly as dominant as last season.
Regionalliga NordostThe league had an immediate tougher makeup than the Oberliga last season. Hertha BSC II was quickly identified as the strongest team, with 13 players valued higher than my top valued player, including 8 over €200k and one over €1M. Other bigger teams included, Lok Leipzig, Nordhausen, Erfurt, Halle and local rivals BFC Dynamo and Berliner AK.
We started the league quite strongly, with an 8-game unbeaten run, despite including 4 draws, most of them in games we dominated. The run was stopped by our first meeting with Hertha BSC II, who beat us 2-3 at their home. We got back up with a couple of wins and a draw, before two tough defeats against Erfurt and BFC Dynamo. We closed the first half of the year with another good run, 6 unbeaten games, including 4 wins this time. At the winter break, we were 3rd in the table, 2 points behind Erfurt and 3 points behind Hertha BSC II. Right after the break, we kept our good form, and with 3 wins and a draw, we managed to extend that 6 game unbeaten run to 10 games, before Nordhausen turned around a game we had won. We were 3-0 by '30 minutes, and they scored 4 straight goals and beat us 3-4. The defeat really impacted the team, despite scoring a lucky win in the next game (playing horrible football), as a horrendous April saw us not score a single goal, drawing 2 0-0 games, and losing again against rivals BFC Dynamo. We fell to 5th, and the possibility of promotion was far, far away (Hertha BSC II is avaliable for promotion to the 3.Bundesliga), but after a great May with 4 wins and a draw, we managed to climb back to third place, giving a strong fight for second, but far away from Hertha and their undisputed promotion bid. It's gotta be next year folks!DFB-Pokal As I told you on the overview, we played in the German Cup for the first time. The luck of the draw handed us Bayer 04 Leverkusen (and Charles Aránguiz <3 <3) at home, which meant a nice bonus for playing in the competition and also attendance. Almost 7,000 fans came to watch the game, and we gave a big early surprise as Marcin Juszczak scored to put us ahead at '8 in our first shot of the game. We held on for a long time, but at 45+4 (who the fuck gives 5 minutes added time in the first half, it was better the refs said until Bayer scores!), an own goal from Max Konrad leveled the game. We were being overrun at that time, fairly said though. We crumbled over that goal on the second half, allowing 3 more goals, before Nelson Schulz-Fademrecht scored a consolation to make the 2-4 scorecard more dignified. We earned around €200k between bonus money and ticket sales, which helped the fragile economy.PerformancesLast season we had terrific individual performances from a few players, including some of the youngsters I found on the freebies. This season, it was more of a mixed bag, as the competition level was increased a lot. Only 4 players averaged over 7 in rating, and none of them over 7.10. Our best player was Marvin Thiele, a wonderful kid we found as an unattached player after being released by Glachau. He has a ton of potential and is labeled to become a great 3.Bundesliga player. He scored 11 goals and had 3 assists. Another of our great youngsters Max Konrad had a great season, being a rock in the back four, as a right back. Konrad also has a ton of potential to fullfil, and managed to score a goal, while assisting in 2. Finally, veteran Thomas Franke was our third best player a classic big german centre back, who's an insurance on the back, and a weapon on set pieces. Also worth a shoutout, GK Phillip Amelung, a fantastic 21-year old, with potential to become a club legend, had 12 clean sheets, and allowed a little over a goal per game (35 goals in 34 games).
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- Again, no news on the "turning professional" front. I tried during the year, to see if even the Chairman could take a loan to finance the club, but nope. - We're still on trouble, financially being €740k, which meant we lost around €250k this season, half of what we lost in the first. The big problem is that money isn't on sight easily. We doubled our attendance from last season, averaging 1567 fans per game, placing 6th in the league. Still it's a 10% of the stadium capacity, so we got room to keep growing. Hopefully we get over 2000 next season, despite not getting promoted. - The core of the squad is set, I need to re-inforce a couple of positions, mainly bring a good goalscorer as it's an area we lacked this season. Another year of scouting through the leftovers to snatch a good player.
Again, this keeps being on the balance beam. I dunno where the money is coming from to pay salaries, as we've been in the red ever since the save started. Hopefully I get promoted to 3.Bundesliga next season and start righting the finances of the club and growing.

Sorry for the lack of updates during the last week. Thanksgiving promo hit in Madden Ultimate Team, which means grinding a ton of solo challenges (and upgrading my beautiful team, which now includes a 96 OVR Lawrence "LT" Taylor at ROLB), and also the lauch of Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu meant less FM playing time. I've also been reading a lot about the new training system, as I've been overlooking it for the start of this save, as I deemed it not neccesary for the spot the team currently is.
But I've finished the third season and will likely have an update posted before today hopefully. Thanks for sticking by!

Tennis Borussia Berlin2020-21 Season Report
OverviewThird season in the lower life of Berlin football and things haven't got any easier, let me tell you, haha. Randomly (becauase I don't have any other word for it), we didn't play in the DFB-Pokal this season, so the prize and attendance boost of even a single cup game was not present during this season, and our finances are still very much struggling. Also, the League went up a team, to 19 so a couple of matches more in the season, plus games in hand during the whole year meant calculating the table was pretty strange, as I'd never played in an uneven league structure before. Also, this is an election year, hopefully I get some promises from the Board and try to get a promotion to the 3.Bundesliga as well to try and become a professional side and get out of this financial mess we're in.Squad and TacticsFrom last season, I really wanted to try and upgrade a couple of positions, mainly the starting striker and the left back. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any suitable free players willing to play for us, so I had to manage with what I had. The only change from the starting XI from last season was up top, where we let go of Juszczak and ended up playing Dennis Biesinger, a young 18-year old I managed to snatch from Berliner AK (only for a 20% of his future fee), he was a bit raw at the start of the season, but it was the best choice we had at the time. I did promote a few interesting young players to be backups, and at the midseason point, managed to get a target man to play alongside Biesinger in the looks of Kevin Scheidhauer. Also during the winter break, I managed to renew all the contracts I wanted to renew, schooing away several bigger teams that wanted to poach our best players.
During the first half of the season we played like this:
After the winter break we shifted to this:
Both pictures are at the end of the season, and reflect the growth of two of our young stars, Dennis Biesinger and Kornel Gasior, whose CA grew at least a star during the season.Regionalliga NordostA couple of relegated sides from the 3.Bundesliga fell over to our regional league which is really bad luck, as both Hansa Rostock and FC Carl Zeiss Jena are tough, bigger teams. And they showed their strength early, as Jena was our first loss of the season, in the third game a 2-4 in which we were completely outclassed. Despite that, we had a great start to the season, with just a couple of losses in the first months, and a ton of wins. Quickly we settled for the third position, near Jena and Rostock, who dominated the league. We faired decently against Rostock, with a 1-1 away draw, that kept them within range. Dennis Biesinger settled in as the teams leading goalscorer, with 17 goals in the first 23 games, and we finished in third position, with 52 points, just two points behind Rostock and a point behind Jena. The second half of the season had to be perfect, as Rostock wasn't just gonna let us walk with the sole promotion spot. And we managed to have a perfect few months. The problem was Rostock didn't let go. Jena, on the other side had a woeful second half, and the race was soon a two-team race for the title as each weekend, Rostock and me managed to get similar results. Obviously, in a very much FM-fashion, the last game was against Rostock, this time at home. We managed to take the lead in the league with 2 games to go, as we won and Rostock drew, but in the next game, we drew and they won, which set up a final match, where the winner would take the promotion spot and the title. We started off great, as Dennis Biesinger put us up ahead at '2, but they tied it pretty quickly. The draw gave them the title by a single point, so we needed to score and titled the pitch towards their side, finally finding the net at '82, with another Biesinger goal. In the end, that was all we needed to get to the 3.Bundesliga!!' PerformancesRemember back up when I said we had two positions to get players for at the start? Left back and Striker? Well, Marcus Młynikowski and Dennis Biesinger ended up being our top two players. The first was a rock in the back four, a terrific set piece delivery man and accomplished crosser, while the latter managed to score 31 of our 64 goals, shattering all records in his way.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- As soon as we hit the 3.Bundesliga, the Board converted the team to professional. All my players are still on part-time contracts, don't know if they'll train part-time until I can offer them full-time contracts. - Also the Board had to upgrade the Stadium (put up some seats), for which they took a €2.5M loan, used entirely on the upgrade. - Financially, we're still on a deep hole, but at least the 3.Bundesliga has TV and prize money which could allow us to get afloat in a couple of seasons. During the season I had a "danger of administration" news item, but nothing after that. We are €1.2M in the red, and now adding €24k per month on loan repayments. - The Club's President was re-elected for a third term, and now out of the blue they want me to adhere to the "Sign High Profile Players" philosophy. Not only something I'm entirely against at this stage, but also imfuckingpossible to achieve due to our precarious financial situation. I will try to get rid of it as soon as I can. They also added the "sign young players" philosophy, but that's something I'm up for and is doable. - I think we can stay up with 2-3 key additions to the squad. I'll try to secure loans from 2.Bundesliga or II sides to try and bolster a few key positions.
There's light at the end of the tunnel!!! If we can stay afloat in 3.Bundesliga for a couple of seasons, this should start rising like foam.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2021-22 Season Report
OverviewHello lads, long time no see. After what possibly was the longest winter break ever, as I spent a long time away from FM (during that time in-game haha), I rekindled my relationship with the game during the summer break here in Chile, where I spent a few nice weeks at my family's ranch (an apple productive ranch, if you got Chilean Apples with a Dole brand in your local markets, they probably come from my ranch). So, yeah I'm back. When I first I started toying with the idea of coming back to FM I devised a "new" save (my classic Chile C&C, hence the quotes in new), but as the patch hasn't dropped yet I decided to give TeBe Berlin a new chance and it stuck, so here it goes!
Fourth year in Berlin, first season in the 3.Bundesliga and finally some prize money will come our way after the season. We started off deep into the red, and at our worst point had around -€1.7M but made it through without dropping into administration or a hostile board takeover, even though the first was hinted and a new board came in the end, through elections. It was a hard season, with highs and lows, but growth nontheless.Transfers and TacticsWe didn't add much to the team as finances didn't allow it and now I can't sign players on part-time contracts no more. Some budget fiddling was neccesary and a lot of the renewals ended up being with awful clauses, but I did what I had to do, to retain our star players. At the start of the season Abdelhafid El Amrani came in as a loanee from Paderborn, and then two players came in on free deals during the season, Dominik Sollfrank at the winter break and Nico Hug at the end of the season, both as replacements for injured players.
We stuck with the 4-2-3-1 shape, adding the newer names to the mix, but keeping the structure from previous seasons.
3. BundesligaWe kicked off the league to a great start, with a single loss in the first 13 games, including wins against Bundesliga "B" sides, like FC Bayern II, Dortmund II and Hertha BSC II (sweeeet win). Cottbus and FC Koln II reminded us of our place, with two quick losses after the run, while Freiburg II and Osnabruck also beat us during a surprise first round where we ended up high on the table, fighting for direct promotion. We won 14 games, drew 5 and lost 5. We were up there, we only needed to be consistent in the second half to seal the deal and get into the 2.Bundesliga. TWo straight wins to start, including another sweet win over our Rivals "B" side kept us in the fight but after that we six losses in the next eight games with 1 win adn 1 tie. That awful run of results left us away from direct promotion spots and vaguely in the mix for a playoffs spot. Fortunately, something clicked and Dennis Biesinger put the team onto his shoulders (and left foot), commanding a terrific run to end the season where fueled by his 9 goals we captured 16 points in the last 7 games to secure the 4th place in the league and a direct promotion to 2.Bundesliga (normally the first two places get direct promotion, with the third getting to the playoffs. As Köln II and Bayern II are B teams of clubs in the Bundesliga, they cannot be promoted to a tier directly below their current tier, making them not qualified for promotion).PerformancesIt was a season with little consistency, with one big great run to start the first half of the season and a horrible run to start the second half of the season, this meant only a handful of players had good ratings. After a season plagued with injuries, Nelson Schultz-Fademrecht was our best performer, scoring 6 goals, with 3 assists and bossing the middle of the pitch with secure passes covering so much field which helped him get a 7.09 rating. Goalscorer Dennis Biesinger, finished the season as the league's top goalscorer and elected to the Best XI. He scored 23 goals and had 3 assists, with a 7.08 rating. Finally, Kornel Gasior was one of the best defenders in the league as well, the 20 year old Polish plays way above his experience and commands the team from the back, he scored 2 goals, with 2 assists and a 7.05 rating.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- During the season we had a tough time trying to renew contracts for Gasior and Biesinger, as both 20 year olds wanted to move forward at some point and refused to negotiate. In the end, they were both signed until 2024, which is great news, as I'll be drowning in a pool of euros by then and hopefully still in the 2.Bundesliga (or higher...). Another offseason move was securing the renewal of El Amrani's loan, so he'll be with us in the 2.Bundesliga as well. - The Board had to upgrade the stadium a bit, taking out another loan, this time "only" €725k. - At last, since the beginning of the save, the club's in the black, but that came not without sacrifices, as The Board decided to sell the team's Youth Facilities for liquidity. After that and adding the prize bonus for finishing 4th (around €500k), the team's balance is €47k. The Club's net debt is of €3.4M, but we have secured approximately €15M on income, as the last place bonus for 2.Bundesliga is €13M, and we'll surely get some TV Money as well. - I know I face an impossible task. This TeBe Berlin might be the smallest (financially and historically) team to ever play in the 2.Bundesliga. The Board doubled our wage budget, but offered no transfer budget whatsoever, so I'll need to scout the FA market extensively to find talent to fill the squad. I think only Amelung, Gasior and Bisesinger have their positions secure on the first XI, hopefully I can find more talent!
This save got legs now, here's hoping I don't get absolutely smashed in the first season on 2.Bundesliga, though a relegation shouldn't cost me my job.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2022-23 Midseason Report
OverviewI decided on a shorter update, as I've blazed through my season so far and am already at the winter break. First season in the 2.Bundesliga, a big jump in reputation, a tough challenge and hopefully the start of the club's growth as a unit, as prize money at last starts being relevant. Even if we cannot get promoted to the top tier, a good few seasons here (barring any relegations), should be anough to get the club up and running, building the youth facilities we had to sell, building other facilities, upgrading the club's off the field and on the field staff, etc. We've barely survived as of now, with a few inexpensive loans and also the sell of the facilities, while grooming an interesting squad filled with young players and bargains. This should be the last season of that, and I'm hell excited for it.
Also, longer updates means people reads less, so here's hoping for a bit more of community interaction as well. Thanks to the ones that have been following dudes!Transfers and TacticsI knew we needed an overhaul, that meant leaving certain big players from past glory days, the ones that helped me climb the ladder, had to either leave, not be considered or relegated to the bench. To accomplish this, the Board gave me no transfer budget, but doubled our wage budget, which allowed me a bit of wiggle room. Seven new faces came in during the summer, with the best of the bunch being Holger Carstensen, a player I've coveted since my Regionalliga days, as he was a part of the Rostock side that lost promotion to us by 2 points that season. I tried bringing him in last summer either on loan or for no fee (only future fees and percentages) but Rostock wasn't gonna do that, but this summer I managed to slide in a bit of wage budget to lure him to us and in the end a bid of 90k plus our reserve left back was enough to buy 60% of his card and get him to play for us. The other big transfer was Steven Perthel, who came in on loan from Mainz. The rest of the transfers were freebies and are the following: Tim Linsbichler, Fabian Gmeiner, Simon Rhein, Killian Rech and Dennis Akoadi.
We also sold the first of our young players, as Robin Agha who was a reserve last year poised to become a starter this season, was angry because of lack of playing time and decided he wanted out even when I was playing him regularly at the preseason and the start of the season. At the deadline day, I decided to sell him as he was disrupting the team's morale. He went to Magdeburg for 500k up front (plus 300k in clauses and 50% of his next transfer), and also was loaned back to us until the end of the season as our squad was already complete.
As you can see from above, I brought in several forwards which meant I was ready to play with 2 attackers, a nice 4-4-2 diamond narrow is our frame, with several instructions to favour our possession game.
2. BundesligaIn what was an unexpected start, by 8' minutes of our first game we were up 2-0, away from home, visiting Dynamo Dresden, they climbed back to make it 2-2, but we managed to get a couple more goals in, and won our first game 4-2. We had a bit of a mixed bag later, with just 1 point from the next 3 games, including a heavy loss against Kaiserslautern, but managed to pick up our form, beating Bochum and Braunschweig, while unfortunately conceding a last minute draw to Arminia Bielefeld. After that we hit another rough patch, with 6 points in the next 7 games, including a tough run of 3 games without scoring. We finished the first half with two wins and two losses, the last being Dynamo Dresden avenging the first game win we had against them. All in all a great start for our expectations as we stand 12th in the league, with 23 points, 7 points away from the relegation playoffs, and 9 away from direct relegation. Supposedly it takes 35 points to make the cut, and we're aiming at getting near 40, which should mean we're safe if we manage to keep our form during the second half of the season.PerformancesI want to take a minute here to showcase our best 8 players who have had moments of brilliance during this tough campaign. Nico Hug has been our top player, the only one averaging above 7, a decent left back for the level with a pinch still to improve. Just below the 7, Phillip Amelung has been quite good at goal, averaging over 4 saves a game, while loanee Steven Perthel has led all goalscorers with 8 goals, and also has 3 assists. A step below them, star signing Holger Carstensen, despite missing a month at the beginning of the season, has justified his price, with 2 goals and 2 assists from the middle of the pitch. Behind them are our top two players from past years, with Dennis Biesinger, who's adapting to play a two man game and still managed to score 7 goals and dish 3 assists and Kornel Gasior who at 20 is projecting to be our defensive leader. Finally, from the bench, Fabian Gmeiner has been great on limited playing time with a 6.95 average and 2 assists in only 39 minutes of playing time, and 17 year-old academy phenomenon Marcin Dziadulewicz who has shown to play above his age and level, scoring two goals playing half of his games from the bench.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- There are a few players whose contracts run out at the end of the season. I'm interested in picking up a few, maybe 3-4 and none is essential really, so no big problem there. - Regarding stats, I'm fairly happy as despite being a team with a far inferior quality to others we're still playing great possession football. We're 2nd in the leage in average possession with 55%, 4th in passes completed, with 7449 and 5th in pass completion ratio, with 80%. Our attacking play has been great as well, as we're 5th in the league in goals, with 24. - Points to imrpove, is defence as we've conceded 29 goals, good for 16th in the league, and also in attendance, as we're dead last in the league with 6646 fans per game, a meagre 42% of our arena. - All this is with by far the cheapest team in the league, with a salary per annum of €1.43M, almost €22M less than the highest paying team, and less than half the team in 17th position. - I'm looking at ways of keep improving the squad in the winter break. I've scouted a lot of free players who could boost not only the squad, but directly the starting 11. My only problem is disrupting the team hierarchy and morale. I'll see what I can do. - Financially we're still on a tight spot, with a negative balance of (€522,687). Projection looks good though and I should end the season with around €5M in the bank. - The Board hasn't agreed on any investments yet, as the money isn't there. I'm not too hyped about the youth intake, with average (rented) youth facilities.
I'm having fun with this save so far and despite the patch already being up, I'm giving it a good run before planning on starting the La U classic save haha.

Small update just to let you know that the relegation race is tight as fuck. There's currently a 7-team cluster fighting to get away from the relegation playoff spot, within 4 points with 4 games to go. We play Union Berlin, Darmstadt (both in that group), Paderborn (almost relegated, with 25 points) and Ingolstadt (3rd place), quite a decent schedule, but we do need some wins, as the magical 35 point objective might not be enough.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2022-23 Season Report
OverviewAfter a good first half of the season, the winter break brought a face to bolster the squad and 16 games to see whether we were able to avoid the drop. This should be a short update.TransfersAs I said above, just one new transfer, in the form of Sven Sonnenberg, a quick-ish CB to strenghthen our defence. Regarding tactics, we kept using the 4-4-2 diamond narrow, which ended up giving us a ton of problems defensively specially from the wings, I think the experiment is over and I will revert to some form of a winger based tactic. As two of our best players play in the central midfield position, I'm still thinking of the overall shape, but that's flour from another sack, and we'll take upon it in the future.
2. BundesligaJust before the winter break we had a couple of losses and we kicked off the second half of the season with just a single point in the first 3 games, the worst run since we took over the team. That run put us close to the relegation spots, just two points above the playoffs spot. Fortunately we had two affordable games and we managed to get two wins to push us away from the danger zone, beating dead-last Bochum and newly promoted Braunschweig. Then we hit another winless run, picking up 4 points in the next 7 games, again pushing us down into the relegation zone. That's the spot where the picture in the above post is taken, with 4 games to go we stood nine points above the direct relegation spots, but just a point over the relegation playoffs. We had to "travel" around 25km across Berlin to Union Berlin's stadium. It was a tight affair, and at halftime we were down 1-3, a complete disaster. But we managed to play the best half of the season in the second half and turned the game around winning 5-3. I thought the morale boost would be enough to guarantee we win our next game, against nearly relegated Paderborn at home, but they surprised us and we lost 0-2. This meant we needed to at least draw against Darmstadt in the second to last game to secure the safe spot and avoid the playoffs. We played Ingolstadt who were third placed and fighting for promotion in the last game, so another loss would surely mean we'd play the playoffs. We started off the game with an early goal against us, and I thought we were doomed. But a penalty on the second half was converted by Dennis Biesinger, and we managed to keep the result for a 1-1 and guaranteeing another 2.Bundesliga season. In the last game, we managed to beat Ingolstadt 2-1 in a brilliant game. This win prevented Ingolstadt from getting a top-3 finish and thus they'll play again in the 2.Bundesliga as well.
The final win pushed us towards an 11th place finish, quite good as it's considered mid-table and also guaranteed us over €10M in prize money.PerformancesIn the end, our best player ended up being our GK, Phillip Amelung, who despite conceding 52 goals in 33 played games, had 7 clean sheets and managed to be a top 5 keeper in saves throughout the season. Dennis Biesinger had a brilliant second half of the season, outperforming Perthel and ending up as the team's best goalscorer, with 12 goals and 5 assists. Finally, again I'd like to give a shoutout to Polish phenomenon Marcin Dziadulewicz, who in a topsy turvy season, started off as a sub, made a russ on the winter break as he wanted to be traded to bigger teams (around 30 teams wanted him) and ended up winning a place in the starting 11, scoring 5 goals including a couple of utmost importance in the campaign. He's now happy and under contract until 2026 with no minimum fee. He'll be pursued at every window, but unless a millionaire offer comes (and it won't), I don't plan on selling him.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- As I said in the intro, we struggled a lot with wide play in defence, despite "defend wider" instructions. What I took notice is that when teams attacked with 2 players (either overlapping or underlapping) down the wing, the fullback, defensive mid and central mid from that side covered the flank, but the whole team kind of shifted towards that side, leaving the other flank unprotected. Crosses to the far post were normally converted into goals unless Amelung made a one-on-one save. - Despite the defensive issues, the tactic managed to work as intended on offense, where we managed to control the ball an amazing 55% of the time on average, an amazing feat for a team with inferior quality to the competition. We also passed the ball very efficiently, with 80% completion and over 13700 passes completed. I'll take most of the offensive instructions onto the newly shaped tactic. - Finally we're on a solid financial position, nothing spectacular and we'll still lose money on a monthly basis, but it'll be compensated with prize money at the end of the season. We currently have €7.5M in the bank, with a net debt of €2.5M on loan repayments. - This will be a big summer. I plan on upgrade the playing staff a lot, which will probably mean some high influence players to be relegated to a bench role or even sold/released. The Board granted us a tiny but considerable warchest of €2.5M, while more than doubling our wage budget to €310k per month. Looking at the squad, I think only 5 players have their place secure in the first 11, Biesinger, Dziadulewicz, Kornel Gasior, Holger Carstensen and Robin Agha, whose loan was renewed for another season. The rest is expendable/upgradeable. - Unfortunately, The Board has been pretty cheap with the money for upgrades, declining to re-build the Youth Facilities we sold a couple of seasons ago. Despite the average rented facilities, last season's intake was pretty decent with a couple of players with enough potential to be useable in the future.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2023-24 Midseason Report
OverviewAfter the money we hard workingly earned last season came in, I decided to invest in the club. We brought in a ton of new faces, letting go of several former marquee players who helped us get onto this stage of the save, but who'll get more playing time elsewhere and still be remembered here due to their past. The goals in this second 2.Bundesliga season are to improve upon what we built last season, hopefully freeing us from being on the relegation discussion during the whole season, and keep improving the club's structure and financial stability.Transfers and TacticsAs I told you above, a complete makeover from last season was required, in order to try and not suffer with relegation discussion and so, 10 new first team players came in during the summer. I'll detail them below, but first saying that a few loyal servants left the club including two former starters, Phillip Amelung our GK for 4 seasons, Nico Hug LB for a season and a half.
The new faces are: - Okan Batur: Crafty wing adept at playing at both flanks, he came in from rivals Union Berlin for €90k. Bought for the starting 11 - Ercan Karaca: Young talented goalkeeper, with lots of potential, bought from Hannover 96 for €22.5k. Bought as a prospect, should play in Cup games - Sascha Härtel: Classic left back capable of forward play and good defence as well, came from Erzgebirge Aue for €26k. Should feature in the starting 11 - Maurice Multhaup: Right winger and fullback, with a decent mix of attributes and Bundesliga experience (5 games), bought from 1.FC Heidenheim 1846 fpr €18.25k. Bought for the starting 11 - Leopold Zingerle: Established veteran goalkeeper with his best years yet to come, formerly at SC Paderborn and bought for a record-fee €190k. Obvious starter - Julian Rieckmann: Big strong centre back, with technical flaws but great physical ability. Bought from Werder Bremen for €59k. Bought as a rotation option - Tolgahan Taşkin: Young playmaker with great ability and potential, also offers a bit of versatility. Came in from Arminia Bielefeld for €10.25k. Bought as a rotation option - Bastian Fuchs: Promising CB with lots of talent and phisicality, plus still room to grow, he came from Kaiserslautern for €150k. Bought for the starting 11 - Marius Hauptmann: Talented left winger with still potential to be fullfilled. Bought from Erzgebirge Aue for €150k, as a rotation option - Salıh Demirbaş: Loanee from Mainz 05. He was in his last contract year, but Mainz renewed him before we could negotiate. Should feature in the starting 11 - We also renewed the loan of Robin Agha, who after being sold by us, has yet to play for the club that bought him. Also for the starting 11.
After a year experimenting on a narrow diamond tactic I decided we should return to a more classic winged tactic, and as I wanted to keep the good possession numbers from last season, decided on a Tiki Taka based approached, dubbed Prussian Tiki Taka by me, with a 4-2-3-1 shape.
2. BundesligaWe kicked off against SpVgg Greuther Fürth and despite not playing at our best, gathered an important point playing away from home. This was followed by 2 good wins before Holstein Kiel gave us our first loss of the season, but then again we kicked off into gear on an amazing run, where we won 6 and drew 2 more before our next loss against Ingolstadt 04. Before the Ingolstadt game we had been atop the league for 5 games. When the streak finished, we spiraled a bit, only managing to get 7 points from the last 6 games. For the first half we've managed to keep up our own expectations leaving the relegation battle for other teams and being constantly fighting amongst the promotion spots. The fall in the last part of the season was disappointing, but hopefully something we can recover from.We had an interesting DFB-Pokal as well, beating Regionalliga side Eichstätt 6-0 before narrowly losing against Schalke 04 at their home with several reserve players.PerformancesI talked about Marcin Dziadulewicz in both updates for last season, a season where he was mostly a rotation player who ended up winning the starting job. This season, the team starts and ends with him as he's been by far our best player and also the league's best player. In 20 games, he's scored 8 goals and also had 7 assists from his CM position, with a 7.48 rating. Other standout players are Dennis Biesinger with 10 goals (leads the league), anda 7.12 rating, Sascha Härtel, with 4 assists and a 7.12 rating, Robin Agha with 6 goals and a 7.08 rating and Okan Batur with 6 goals and 4 assists, plus a 7.05 rating. Honourable mention for Ercan Karaca, who had to step up during a Leopold Zingerle injury, and had a 7.16 rating over 8 games played, while conceding just 11 goals.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- Teams have been knocking the door for Dziadulewicz all window long. He was upset as we rejected the first offer, but a chat with the team's captain solved the issue. He's labeled as a potential Bundesliga CM,but teams have been rather insulting with their offers. The best one I had was for around €650k and when I tried adding a 50% future fee clause and a loan back, it was withdrawn. I won't sell him for less than €1.5M up front, a 50% future transfer fee clause and a loan back length of at least this season, hopefully until the end of next. - Our Prussian Tiki Taka tactic has worked wonders, with the team leading the league in Average Possession (61%), Goals (34), Pass Completion Ratio (82%), Passes Completed (8383) and Fouls Against (302). I think we need to be a bit more direct, while still playing possession football, I might change a bit the tactic to reflect this, in order to try and generate more chances. - Our defensive record is still below par, as we've Conceded 25 goals (good for 11th in the league) despite winning almost all games in possession. - This time we aren't the cheapest team in the league, but still way below our position, as with a Salary per Annum of €3.78M we stand 16th in the league. We do still are dead last in Attendance, as it hasn't improved much, with an average of 6559 fans per game (41% of our capacity). - I'm looking to strengthen a few positions on the bench, and I might delve into the transfer market on the winter window. - Financially the club is still losing money on a monthly basis as our payroll has expanded while our attendance numbers have not followed suit. We are gonna have to survive on Prize Money and player sales. We currently have €3M in the bank and a projected balance at the end of the season of €7M. - The Board agreed to imrpove the Youth Facilities, but they will be ready well after the intake, sometime around October 2023
Some great progress on the pitch!

Tennis Borussia Berlin2023-24 Season Report
OverviewWe surprised everyone during the first half of the season, being touted as a championship candidate at the winter break after being labeled as a relegation team in the pre-season. The first half was brilliant at times, our offensive possession game stunned rivals and we managed to be the best offensive team in the league. Unfortunately, our defensive record is somewhat disappointing and something to be improved upon during the summer. Only 16 games to cover so this should be quick.TransfersOnly brought one player in, a reserve fullback to replace Fabian Gmeiner who wasn't up to the standard. We brought in Peter Taffertshofer from Karlsruhe, for €37.5k.
2. BundesligaRight before the Winter Break we were amidst a bad run of results, winning only 4 of the last 18 points. The break did us good and we managed to pick up a win over Karlsruhe to start off the second half of the season. In the end we were fairly inconsistent and managed to get small runs of results, before being stopped by a loss. We improved though as never again we had more than 2 games without a win. We had good wins over 1860 Münche 5-3, Holstein Kiel 1-0 and Kaiserslautern, 2-1, while all losses came from teams in the top 8. We bottled a few games, specially draws against Braunschweig, Rostock and Würzburg, three of the weakest teams in the league.
We finished the year with 58 points, a great 17-point improvement from last season. The 5th place finish is also 6 places higher than our inaugural 2.Bundesliga season. We were in the mix for promotion for a long time, but really I think another season of development in the second tier will do us great, I even might think we need two seasons before getting into the top tier.PerformancesAgain, Marcin Dziadulewicz ended up being our top player and one of the league's best players as well. He made a bit of a fuss in the winter break when we didn't want to sell him, but in the end after a talk with the team captain he was convinced to stay. I renewed his contract immediately after, with a big pay rise, and he wasn't enquired again during the window. Dziadulewicz played 33 games, scoring 11 goals and had 10 assists as well, with an average rating of 7.34. Second in line, club legend Dennis Biesinger had another great year, winning the Torjägerkanone award for Top League Goalscorer by a long mile. Dennis played 34 games, scoring 21 goals with 4 assists and a 7.15 rating. From the newcomers, the best of the crop was winger Okan Batur who almost pushed for a "double double" with 9 goals and 8 assists, while playing in all 36 games and a 7.04 rating.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- Financially we're again above water, despite losing quite some money month by month. The great prize money we made, meant we have around €13M in the bank account, with a total net debt of around €2.7M. - Another big summer awaits. I might keep shedding some players who didn't live up to their expectations and try to replace them with better alternatives. The wage budget was nicely upgraded to €485k per month, and we've been given a transfer chest of €3M. There are a few positions where we need upgrade, specially on defense. I might try and go for a more defensive minded CM to play alongside Dziadulewicz (if we manage to hold onto him) or Carstensen. - We're currently upgrading (building, really) the youth facilities that should be ready in a few months. After that, I'll try to go for Junior Coaching and Youth Recruitment budgets.

You gotta vary sometimes!! I almost started a classic La U/Chile save, but La U is so embarrasingly shitty at the moment that I ended up giving this save another look and it stuck. Well it just don't seem right. Good to see you still playing bud. I recall your posts were getting less and less. I think you play other games and have various commitments which is understandable.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2024-25 Midseason Report
OverviewAnother season in the 2.Bundesliga, our third, should bring more club growth and maybe a promotion push. I don't really think we're cut out for the Bundesliga yet, and will surely benefit of another season of second tier football, but after last season where we were amongst the promotion race during almost all the season, we might repeat that this year as well.Transfers and TacticsLast season we had a big makeover, bringing in over 10 new players, improving the quality of our on-pitch personnel greatly. As most of those transfers were young players with tons of potential, I felt we didn't need that much of an improvement this season, as I'm not overly convinced we need to improve much more than what their natural progression brought. We still bought 3 new players, as we lost a couple of key starters along the way of the window.
First loss was academy lad Robin Agha, who after being sold to F.C. Magdeburg a few seasons ago, had spent all his time here at loan. I tried bringing him back, but Magdeburg wanted to give him a run at playing in the first team, where he's just appeared in 3 games. The other loss was Marcin Dziadulewicz, clearly one that hurt but we all saw coming, as in his own words "He deserved to play in the Champions League". Hoffenheim came in charging during the summer and finally we settled for a terrific offer, with €6M cash up front and a 50% of his next transfer fee. As expected, Dziadulewicz hasn't made his debut, and has been relegated to play for Hoffenheim II in the Regionalliga Südwest, two tiers below our current level.
The three transfers in where a young projection Right Back as probably we won't be able to get Salih Demirbaş to come here, and Spaniard Damián Rodríguez ran out of contract at RB Leipzig. He's already progressed a lot and might be a decent starting alternative for next season. To "replace" Dziadulewicz I found a french defensive oriented CM who was released from Montpellier, Sullivan Zigaa fits greatly among Holger Carstensen who will play the attacking CM role that the polish left vacant. Finally, the only position where I felt we needed an improvement from last season was the right wing, as Maurice Multhaup is a bit injury prone, so I splashed the cash and made a record setting transfer bringing in Nico Aehlig from 1860 München for €625k.
I plan on keeping the "Prussian Tiki Taka" tactic, still not convinced to try and get a more direct approach, something I've thought upon, trying a more gegenpressing tactic, without much avail.
2. BundesligaAnother terrific start for the season, with a big 10-game unbeaten run, including a 4 win run amidst it, beating rivals Union Berlin as well. Braunschweig (of all teams, haha) at our home, stopped our run with a 3-1 beating that hurt as we felt we're a better side. After the loss, we had 3 huge games, facing the fourth placed team, Dynamo Dresden, the 1st placed team Fortuna Düsseldorf and 2nd placed Holstein Kiel. We drew all three games, 2-2, 0-0 and 3-3 respectively. After that, we closed out the first half with 4 straight wins. A terrific first semester that has us in the leading group of teams, alongside the three we drew consecutively. That same 3-game stretch is repeated in April, and might decide the fortunes of who will get promotion and playoffs, and who will be left back in 2.Bundesliga. At the break, we stand in 1st place, alongside Holstein Kiel with 39 points, a point above Fortuna Düsseldorf and 4 points ahead of Dynamo Dresden. We've also managed to get a bit of a Cup run, beating Sandhausen 2-1 a.e.t. in the First Round and Holstein Kiel 1-0 in the Second Round. In the Third Round we'll face another 2.Bundesliga team in the form of Freiburg, a team that drew with us in the league.PerformancesWe've played good obviously seeing the results, but we haven't been as flashy as last season. Our top lad is Okan Batur, who has scored 7 goals and 3 assists in 19 games, with a 7.21 rating, while our second best is Dennis Biesinger, who has scored 12 goals and 2 assists in 18 games played. After them, two defensive standouts with Sascha Härtel and Kornel Gasior with 7.12, while french newcomer Sullivan Zigaa has surprised with 3 goals and 2 assists in 16 games, and a 7.10 rating. Salih Demirbaş, Holger Carstensen, backup fullback Peter Taffershoffer and Nico Aehlig, plus backup keeper Ercan Karaca (albeit in just 4 games), complete the group of players rated over 7.00.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- A few players might leave in the winter window. Some of them are complaining for more playing time, so the young might be loaned out while Maurice Multhaup might leave permanently, he's a bit expensive for a backup and his contract runs out at the end of the season, I might cash him for whatever I can get. Okan Batur is being followed closely by Bochum, but I'm not ready to sell, unless a great offer comes. - The tactic is still working wonders, as we keep leading the league in possession and by a mile with (62% average, 8 points ahead of the second), second in goals scored (31), pass completion ratio (84%, 4 points above the 2nd), passes completed (9035, 1800 over the second), shots on target ratio (50%) and second in fouls against (284). - This time, we've improved defensively and now I feel more confident against the break, that was our Achilles' heel. We've conceded 18 goals (just one per game), good for 5th in the league, and we lead the league in tackles won ratio, with 92%. We still have areas to improve, as we are second in fouls made with 302, and second in yellow cards, with 47. - With Rostock relegated, we're again the cheapest team in the league, wth a salary per annum of €3.97M, barely 17% of the league leader SC Freiburg with €23.97M. We've improved our attendance by around 2500 fans per game from this same point last season, but we're still dead last in the league with 8934 average attendance. - Dziadulewicz sale left great money for the club, and now we have €14M in the bank. We've been losing money almost all months, but the DFB-Pokal should keep those loses at bay, specially if we beat Freiburg in the Third Round. - The new Youth Facilities will be completed soon, around the January 10th. After that I'll try improving the recruitment and coaching, before going for the Training Facilities.
A great first half of the season, will we be good enough to fight for a promotion? Thanks for reading!

Tennis Borussia Berlin2024-25 Season Report
OverviewPromotion was in our hands after a brilliant first half of the season where we finished atop the league with Holstein Kiel, amongst a 3-team fight for promotion with Fortuna Düsseldorf as well. I have my qualms regarding whether promotion to the Bundesliga at this stage is a good move for us, as we don't have the quality to compete a step above, but the money will be great. Let's see what happened!TransfersOne player came in the winter window, in the form of central midfielder Lars Gabler, bought from Paderborn for €90k.
2. BundesligaWe kept the good times rolling in the first two games after the break, with wins over Union Berlin and Freiburg, before we hit a roadblock where we only managed a win and four draws in the next five games, scoring just 3 goals. Fortunately for us the other teams on the promotion race also slipped, and the race kept super close still. We had two good wins over midtable teams before Braunshcweig our bête noire gave us our second loss of the season (both against them). This put us into Might April that saw us face the teams placed 1st, 3rd and 4th in the table. We started off beating Dynamo Dresden (4th), 2-0, before losing against Düsseldorf (1st) 0-1. This left us tied in second place with Holstein Kiel, who we faced next, but far from Düsseldorf who managed to almost secure the title with the win over us. We beat Kiel 2-1 then, which left us in 2nd place, 5 points above them, with 3 games left to play. We beat Bochum, narrowly 1-0, and we only needed one more win to secure direct promotion to the Bundesliga. Nerves came instantly and we played a horrible match against Magdeburg, who demolished us 0-4 at home. This allowed Kiel to come within reach, 2 points behind us. In the last game, we had to travel to Erzgebirge Aue (16th, fighting to avoid playoffs), while Kiel had to host aleady relegated Duisburg (17th). We just couldn't score against them, despite dominating, a boring 0-0 meant we depended on Kiel. Obiously, I had an eye on the "latest scores", and when my game ended, Kiel was up 2-1. So I gave a stern team talk, and expected to prepare for the playoff, but as the game loaded, I saw that the team training was set to "rest" for all days. Huh? And then, in the press conference, I was congratulated for promotion. WTF? I had to exit the press conference, look at the league table and YES, we were second placed, Duisburg scored a tying goal at the 90+4 minute, to send us directly into the Bundesliga, while sending Kiel to the playoff.
68 points was our final tally, good enough for a second place finish, 7 points away from the Title and 2 points above the Playoff. So yes, Bundesliga here we come!
We also had a brilliant Cup run, as we managed to beat Freiburg in the Third Round 1-0, before falling to the eventual champions FC Bayern 2-3 with a last-minute goal. In fact, that Quarter-Final game ended up being the "Best Game" of the Competition.
PerformancesThe second half of the season was pretty bad offensively, a lot of narrow wins and scoreless games meant our stats lowered considerably compared to the projection at the break. Our best player ended up being perennial Kornel Gasior, with 37 games played and a 7.15 rating, followed closely by fullback Sascha Härtel, with 29 games, 2 assists and a 7.13 rating. Our best offensive player was Nico Ahelig, with 6 goals and 5 assists in 29 games and a 7.08 rating, while Okan Batur scored 8, dished out 6 assists in 37 games with a 7.03 rating. Dennis Biesinger was our top goalscorer (and the league's Torjägerkanone) with 18 total goals amd 3 assists in 34 games and a 6.99 rating.
Screenies are available upon request ladsForecast and Future- Finally, we're a stable club, economically speaking. After bonuses and taxes, the bank account has €26M. We've been given a €6M budget to spend in the summer, while upping the wage budget by around €100k per month. It's a bit small for my expectations, but I'll have to manage with that. The club paid all their debts also after the season, so we have no net debt. - A lot of improvement in the facilities side, already with Training and Youth Facilties upgrades on their way, and an improvement to both the Youth Recruitment and Junior Coaching. - I expect some renewal of the first team. I plan on sending some of our promising youth on loan, as we'll probably replace some long time starters with new players and leave the former starters as backups.
Thanks for following!

Tennis Borussia Berlin3-Year Catch-Up
OverviewWow, long time no see. So sorry about that, but I've been super busy lately and couldn't find much time to do things like these, I mainly used my free time to play games and go out with my friends haha. Thing is, I've been playing FM as of late, and after failing to have a La U save stick, I decided to go back to Berlin, where after a promising start in our first Bundesliga season, things had become a bit harder as expected.Well, here it goes, I'll try to make things obiously summarized as I'll cover all three seasons on this post.2025-26 We started the season spending a small bit of money not even spending the whole €6M the team gave me. I brought in around 7 players, spending €1.8M, with 3 of them remaining in the 2028-29 squad. As I posted in the last post of this thread, we kicked off the first Bundesliga season in terrific fashion winning our first 3 games, even beating Dortmund at Signal Iduna. We then struggled for a while and never managed to win two straight games again for the season, although we did have some good results, beating HSV in both games and Bayern at home, but also a couple of rough games losing 0-6 against Werder Bremen and 0-7 against Bayern at Munich, plus a terrible ending to the season winning just 4 out of the last 27 poiints. Another positive was reaching the Pokal Quarter-Finals, but losing against Düsseldorf was tough as they were a 2.Bundesliga team last season as us.We finished the league in 14th place, with 42 points.2026-27 After surviving the first season in the top flight, we received a nice cash bonus for that and the Board gave us around €30M chest to work with. I planned on upgrading several positions as we really struggled at times during last season. I kept playing the 4-2-3-1 direct we devised a couple of seasons ago and despite having a few good moments in the first half of the season I decided we needed a tactical shift and taking a big risk I went forward with it at the winter break. We brought back academy recruit Marcin Dziadulewicz (first on loan, then permanently at the end of the season) 3 years after selling him to Hoffenheim, and including the cost of bringing him back, we made a nice €6M profit. We also broke our record transfer fee, bringing in Argentinean Facundo Pereyra for €6.5M. The season was a bit of a rollercoaster and we even had a brief stint in the top 8, but in the end the tactical juggling cost us dearly, and we finished in 11th position, with 43 points, just one point more than 2025-26. We reached the Pokal 3rd Round.
2027-28 Our third season in the Bundesliga had to propel us to a mid table position as I felt we were good enough. I spent a long time tweaking the tactic we started using during the second half of the season, a 4-3-1-2, with two forwards and three central mids as we had a ton of talent in that position. Again we had a bit of money to spend, but also The Board approved a new stadium which means that I don't want to spend that much money in order to not fall into the red. We spent around €13M, with a few overpaid deals (Sierra and Tuto) but also a couple of bargains (Kaplan and Pihler) as well. We had a terrific season, despite a few losses and also despite losing in the Pokal 2nd Round (plpaying with a rotated squad). We had a terrific run from November until February, only losing a game and winning 23 of a possible 36 points in that span, which launched us into the Europa League qualification spots. In the second half the qualification was ours to lose and we almost did, getting hit hard by Dortmund and a 2-6 loss, but in the end pulled through and ended up in 6th place, with 56 points and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League for the first time!
2028-29 I just started the 28-29 season, continued to strengthen the playing squad, investing in facilities and improving. Only brought in a few players, but in key roles, specially as some of the players in the squad have had their development stifled a bit. The Europa League draw was harsh and I doubt we can make it out of, as we play against Bordeaux, Lazio and Genk. Financially, things look a bit bleak as we currently are in the red as the Stadium was financed 100% by the club. I think the Board should inject some money or take a loan to keep us afloat. At the end of the season everything will balance out with the Bundesliga prize money.
The squad looks great, and the tactic is working beautifully. I still get bullied by bigger teams, but manage to dominate mid-table and lower teams. The projected starting 11 and squad look like this:
If anyone wants a screenshot, feel free to ask.
So lads, sorry for the lack of movement, but this save is up and going. Ten seasons in and going for the 11th, we've progressed from the Oberliga to the Bundesliga and European Competitions. Still a bit of problems as the team's reputation has grown but still not to desired standards, which impacts player values (none above €10M is crazy for a top-6 Bundesliga team), and also on the betting odds as we're still deemed for relegation. Hope to post more frequent updates!

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply Chaodck. Great to see you back playing FM and especially this save. The first few seasons in the Bundesliga are always tough, as you well know, but you seem to have sailed through them without any real threat of relegation. As you mention, the prize money softens the blow year on year. Progression each season as well, especially last year. Do you think your squad can handle the extra games thrown at it or do you think your league form will drop as a result?
Also, I notice that there were three different league winners over the last three seasons. Has that been a regular thing or did Bayern dominate the early years of the save as usual?

Cheers for reading Nick, sorry for the long winded posts haha. I've aced through the Bundesliga in fact. I thought it'd be a bit harder, specially as the quality of our players wasn't great. But tactically I've been super lucky in this game, it seems that this team is made for possession football (or that possession tactics are a bit over the top in this FM), in fact the only time we struggled was when I tried a more direct tactic, but reverting back to a possession based one, I managed to get it going again.
Regarding the current season, the improvement keeps going, we dominated our UEL group, winning all games when I thought I'd be lucky to place 3rd, and in the league we're contending for the title. The winter break will be tough, as 7 of our players are wanted by other clubs a few of them by bigger clubs. Fighting against our low reputation is by far the biggest hurdle, there's still no player valued over €10M in our squad and the press still asks me about steering relegation away.
Regarding the Bayern domination, it's been somewhat real as the save champions have been like this: Bayern, Bayern, Bayern, Bayern, Leverkusen, Bayern, Bayern, Red Bull Leipzig, Bayern and HSV. 7 out of 10 is pretty harsh.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2028-29 Season Report
OverviewFourth season in the Bundesliga and first season in Europe, as we navigate through the UEFA Europa League. A bit of fixture congestion, something new for the team, that basically meant managing the player's load balancing training and rest in order to compete at the highest number of games possible, as we're still a short team. Since arriving on the Bundesliga I've been designing my own training schedules and have worked out pretty neat, despite the ocassional complain from a few players on the amount of strength or quickness training.Transfers and Tactics I covered this subject in my 3-year recap post, a few days ago. Basically I'm still playing a possession 4-3-1-2, as our main strength is the depth on the central mid position. A few players were being followed by teams, and the "cranes" ended up lifting one of our best players from us. Lyon came in with a €20M offer for Silvio Fattori, our top CB and despite initially me being a bit overprotective, I decided it was the "realistic" thing to let him go. It's a terrific offer (we bought Fattori for €500k 4-5 years ago), the player gets to play in a bigger side and in the UCL and despite us losing a big player, we're pretty covered in the CB position, as our two backups are a step below Fattori, but have some good potential. We didn't bring in anyone on the winter break as things were going brilliantly, only bringing in a young striker and immediately loaning him out.BundesligaWe had a brilliant first half of the season, only losing three games and even managed to lead the league for a couple of weeks. But after the break we struggled, specially in the last months of the season. With 5 games to go, we were still on the title race, albeit on the outside looking in, with 5 hard games ahead of us.In the end, our 5 last games where a complete disgrace, as we only managed to get 5 points out of them. Qualification for the UCL would've been out of reach, as Stuttgart and Leverkusen ended up racking 10 points in the last games and Bayern got 11, which means that in order to qualify we would've had to win all 5 games. In the end, we just managed to get 4 points in the last 5 games, which meant we dropped to 6th place, the same position from last season, but with a point more, which means we keep improving every year.UEFA Europa LeagueWe were handed out what I thought was a tough group, and I believed we would've been lucky to place 3rd, but as I said in the previous post we absolutely smashed the group, and ended up qualifying in 1st place, after winning all games. We comfortably beat Bordeaux, Lazio and Genk, scoring 12 goals and conceding only 1.The luck of the draw, put us up against AZ Alkmaar in the First Knockout Round, a decent draw considering our showing in the group. In Holland, we drew 0-0, dominating the match and being super unlucky, but at home, we played the best game of the season, beating them 5-0 and playing fantastic football, I think this has been the best game we've played in the whole save. After that brilliant game, our draw luck ended as we had to face Inter, a proper european giant. I was somehow a bit optimistic, specially after beating Lazio in the group. We went to Milan, and managed to get a 0-0 draw, a great first start, but in Berlin despite playing a great game and being the best team on the pitch, we lost 1-2 and thus exited the competition at the Round of 16.DFB-PokalA short lived Cup run, beating 3.Liga side Erzgebirge Aue in the First Round 4-1, before falling to 2.Bundesliga side 1.FC Nürnberg in the Second Round, 1-2.Players, Training and Squad DevelopmentRegarding the starting 11, I think we have a few areas to improve, but I'm super happy with the team. I think I might try and devise a tactical shift for the next season, only to innovate, maybe pull back one of the 3 central mids to a more defensive position and unleash the fullbacks to attacking mode trying to play a bit more wide forming pairings between the FB-MEZ and also with the forward at their post. This will mean I'll have to sell maybe one or two central mids as all three starters are wanted at the moment. Reverting to a winger based tactic is something I'm not ready to do right now, as it would involve a major surgery on the squad.Regarding training, as I said for the past seasons I've been toying with manual training schedules and have had great success. Here's what I currently use for Pre-Season and Season. In the pre-season the idea is just to try and build fitness. Endurance sessions almost every day, plus some general unit training sessions as well. When games are played, the GK sessions and a few of the tactical ones are replaced. In the season, the idea is to work hard on the first three days of the week, then have an approach more easy on the condition and fitness, and work more on tactical play and set pieces. On game weeks, the GK sessions are out as well as the team-bonding/community and the quickness as well, re-ordering the rest of the sessions as well if neccesary. My expendable sessions on the season are in order: One-on-Ones, Shot Stopping, Com. Outreach, Team Bonding, Quickness, Att. Corners, Def. Corners. I thnk only in a 2 away games week, I need to pull all those off the calendar.Regarding the squad and the season, we had a few great performances, with Mehmet Yildirim being the best player of the season, followed by Emerson Lima who exploded for 21 goals and 9 assists in the season. Other great players were Dominik Albusberger, who was the best GK in Bundesliga, Cristian Gheorghe, Danny Krol, César Lopez, Tim Allerbeck and Göksel Türkmen.Forecast and Future- Financially we're at a good position, despite being an overspender and prize/selling-dependant club. There's around €60M in the bank right now, and the forecast seems to be decent, considering the Europa and Bundesliiga prize money. - The club has progressed tremendously on the facilities front. It has been confirmed that this will be the last season in our current stadium, moving into the new Jürgen Schulz Park on June 2030. The stadium will be a modern 22k all-seater, a much needed improvement over our current 16k, but just 3k seating capacity council owned stadium. The Youth and Training Facilities are again being improved upon, hopefully reaching better standards (they currently are Adequate and Good respectively). Finally we decided on also imrpoving the Youth Recruitment Network to Extensive and the Youth Coaching to Exceptional.
That's all folks, thanks to the ones that have been following.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2029-30 Season Report
OverviewAs the save goes into the 12th season, we approach our 5th year in the Bundesliga and second year qualifying to the UEFA Europa League. Last two seasons we've finished in 6th position despite at times being mixed into the Title fight, but bad runs in the final third of the season prevented us from finishing higher up. The progression of the club has been glorious throughout the save, on and off the pitch, I'm safe to say this has been one of the most satisfactory saves I've played on FM, despite being a ton more "off/on" than other years and having some time lagoons without playing it.Transfers and Tactics So, I wanted to make a shift tactically as I found the 4-3-1-2 kinda boring and limiting on the wings. Shifting one of the central mids into the DM position, would allow a bit of defensive structure to allow the fullbacks to roam freely up the pitch, that was my idea at least and thus I settled for a diamond 4-4-2. Sweeper Keeper, attacking fullbacks, "normal" centre backs, a holding BMW, two mezzalas (to help the wing attacks), a playmaker in the hole, a complete forward to link up with the AM and an advanced forward to link up with the wings. Same tactical instructions I've been playing around (and that have worked wonders) for hte past few years, high possession, high but not suicidal press, short team (block pressing, as Jorge Sampaoli calls it), high tempo and offside trap. So, to play this way we needed to shift some players around, including at least one of our three starting CM's. Wallace Veronez was the chosen one, as Schalke came in with a great €25M offer for him, Veronez had been the team captain for a couple of seasons, but the offer was good (€20M profit) and he was starting to stagnate a bit so I pulled the plug. The other starter who left was LB Danny Krol, as Atlético came in with €9M and given Krol didn't win my favours during his one year stay (and we made a nice €4.5M profit on him). We sold a few other backup players, including Chilean Gary Sierra back to La U (€2M profit sorry La U ), Junior Atangana to FC Magdeburg (€1.5M profit), and former top rated youngster Nils Eschner (€140k profit). In came six players, Leon Bakalorz from Frankfurt for €400k a playmaker prospect, Éverton from Flamengo for €9.5M (record fee at the time) to be the starting DM, Ricardo Carmona from Pumas, for €7.5M as the starting LB, Martin Lazarov from Saint-Étienne for €2.9M as the backup DM, Donato Miggiano from Cagliari for €2.5M a CB prospect and Fernando Israel, from Defensor Sporting for €3.1M as the backup LB.
More news came in the winter window, as Schalke came back knocking for another player, in Dominik Albusberger our starting GK. Again a nice €25M offer and despite the risk of selling a key player amidst the season I decided to. In his place, came in Niklas Bönig, from Man Utd for €16.5M (now the record fee) and I'm quite happy with the swap. I also took the chance and brought in highly sought GK prospect Davy Ernst from Gent for €4M.
The tactic ended up looking like this, with the first choice starting XI by the end of the season being:
There are still a few positions to improve, specially as some players have stagnated in the season. But it's not gonna be easy, as you'll see further down most of those players were amongst our best this season.BundesligaWe kicked off the season in good form, beating RB Leipzig a team that always caused headaches, but one of our black beasts Leverkusen stopped is by the 4th matchweek. Wolfsburg and HSV also beat us before the first 10 league games, but after that we hit another level, with an amazing 16 game run between November and March where we won 12 games, drew 3 and lost only 1. That run propelled us onto 1st place on the table in what was a tight race (maybe the tightest title race I've seen ever on FM). With 8 games to go, we were atop, but our pursuers had several games in hand and were big teams, HSV, Bayern, Leverkusen, Stuttgart, RBL and former champions Wolfsburg.
And well, we kinda bottled it. As it has been during the past seasons, April and May were kind of a disaster, the next 7 games, after that 16-game run were as follow: L-W-L-W-L-L-L. 6 out of 21 points is a disastrous spell, and we lost the top place. But in typical FM fashion, it was all going to be decided on the last matchday.
1.- Wolfsburg: 66 (+24) 2.- TeBe Berlin 64 (+17) 3.- Stuttgart 63 (+23) 4.- Bayern 63 (+20) 5.- HSV 61 (+24) 6.- Leverkusen 61 (+23) 7.- RBL 59 (+21)
Seven points separated the first seven places. Technically only the first 4 were on the title run, but still a clusterfuck of a table. The fixtures were: - TeBe Berlin vs. Dortmund - Stuttgart vs. Werder Bremen - Nürnberg vs. HSV - Leverkusen vs. Ingolstadt - RBL vs. Greuther Fürth - Wolfsburg vs. Bayern
We needed to win, and also needed that Bayern beat Wolfsburg, as a draw would give the repeat to Die Wölfe on goal difference (unless we ravaged Dortmund). We played good, and scored early via Emerson Lima. At halftime we were 2nd on goal difference as Bayern and Wolfsburg were 0-0. Dortmund tied the game at '58 and dominated the rest of the second half. At '71 Sergio scored for Bayern which meant a goal from us gave us the title. Someone must have told the players, because we pushed forward with everything we had, finally finding grace on a goal from Tim Allerbeck at '88. Mommsenstadion exploded on a roar (obviously I celebrated it as a La U real-life goal, fortunately I was home alone...). 3-2-1, final whistle and TeBe Berlin were crowned Bundesliga CHAMPIONS!!!!!
UEFA Europa LeagueUnlike last season, we were handed a super easy group, alongside FC København, Young Boys and Akhmat. As expected we cruised the group, qualifying after 4 games and playing the last two group games with the backups. In the knockouts we drew Rangers, a tough draw. We struggled a bit at Ibrox only managing to get a last-minute 1-1 draw. That Emerson Lima goal proved to be the difference as after a 0-0 draw in Berlin we barely squeezed through on away goals. On the Round of 16, we faced Rapid Vienna, whom we obliterated in Berlin, 6-0 before playing the backups on Vienna, getting a 4-2 win and a 10-2 aggregate. The Quarter-Finals draw was familiar, as we faced HSV, whom we beat tightly on Berlin 3-2, before finishing the series with a 2-2 draw in Hamburg. Semi-Finals then. Again a domestic rival as Stuttgart came into Berlin stomping, and beat us at home 3-4. We played good on the return leg, but only managed a 2-2 draw, losing the possibility of getting into our first European Final. Stuttgart went on to beat Inter on the Final and getting the Cup.
DFB-PokalDespite the horrible fixture congestion of a long european run, we managed to have a decent Cup run as well, getting as far as we've ever gotten in a Quarter Finals appearance. We beat Rostock on extra time 1-0, Greuther Fürth 2-1 and Leverkusen 2-1, before falling on the hands of HSV 1-3.
Players and PerformancesIt was an amazing year. For a while I dreamed of a treble despite knowing it was impossible. Getting the Bundesliga title was a hell of a surprise, but the team performed incredibly at times, we were simply unplayable during december. The hard UEL elimination, fueled a terrible May for us, but rallying together and making the strong stand against Dortmund to win the title was admirable. We struggled defensively and we surely need improvements on that front as we conceded too much goals, but on the other hand we scored a lot as well. I had 4 players with +15 goals each and 5 more with +5 goals. Göksel Türkmen had a chance of leaving in the winter window, as we accepted a €36M offer for him, but he decided to stay and had a brilliant second half of the season. He was our best player, scoring 15 goals and also adding 9 assists, with a 7.39 rating. Mehmet Yildirim followed him, with 5 goals and 12 assists, and a 7.23 rating. Christian Gheorghe was our top rating overall, but is misleading in my opinion, he scored 8 goals, a terrific number for a CB, but our defence struggled during the year, so I think his 7.30 rating is a bit bloated. The three other goalscorers, were our strikers, who had ups and downs during the season. Emerson Lima and Tim Allerbeck were the initial starters, but Colombian wonderkid Carlos Preciado took over for Allerbeck in the second half of the season. Both Allerbeck and Preciado, despite competing for the role ended up being our top scorers with 19 goals each, while Emerson Lima added 16.Planning on ahead, I think we'll try to sell a few players and bring in new faces. Gheorghe, Yildirim, Allerbeck and even Dziadulewicz have peaked and stagnated a bit on their development, not reaching the needed ability we need to keep on pushing for more silverware. It'll be hard to see them go, but hopefully our newly earned reputation as Bundesliga champions allows us to get better replacements.Forecast and Future- The bank if pretty happy with our current situation, as we have around €128M in our account. - Next season we'll play in our brand new "Jürgen Schultz" Stadium, a modern 22k all-seater stadium, unfortunately the project is delayed and we'll have to wait until September before moving into it. The rest of the facilities have been upgraded as well, specially the Youth Training and the Data Analysis.
That's all folks, thanks to the ones that have been following.
