Hopefully I can stick to a save long enough to continue an update of whats going on in this virtual world. Newcastle are a club which in FM and the real world I have a soft spot for. A big club from a big town that hs underachieved in recent years and has not won anything major domestically since 1955 an FA Cup - They last won the top flight in 1927. During the 90s the club came close to honours with runners up for top flight in 96 and 97 and runners up in the FA Cup in 98 and 99.
The clubs vision doesnt go 5 years in the plan as current chairman is looking to sell
The aims for this season are not too ambitious, which is perfect as I find my feet.Hopefully the new owners let me prove myself otherwise this could be a short lived update.
We have 20m to spend I will be looking to sign Willems as he as a 7m clause within his loan. and I will be looking to bring in few young english youngsters this season from the lower leagues to help with depth and potential for the future.

Transfers in Viera is for our u23s
The young Matheson, is our third choice right back. Bellingham for 5m absolute bargain, getting in ahead of the big clubs - He will be mainly on our bench this season. Porteous a young scottish defender, who needs to work on his physicals
Campbell a 21 year old scottish midfielder, who for this season will mainly be in u23s Loader 18 years od has potential. might feature if winger options get injured McKenna a young scottiosh defender, will be a backup option
Gelhardt a 17 year old english striker, who I approached numerous times over the summer, I think alot of clubs did he became transfer listed by request. Wigan did accept 8m but could tell he was getting unhappy, so to pick him up for 600k, im very happy, the media label him as the next Micheal Owen
Transfers out

As we come to the end of December. I would say we are struggling, but there are signs of hope but there are also signs of collapse

January and a mini injury crisis happened, with Hayden getting a ankle break and Miggy and Maxim both getting injured for a month So I needed to bring in a short term ball winning midfielder and find a winger very quickly. Kouyate comes in to replace Hayden for rest of season The youngster from Bayern is class above any younger wingere we have at the club and for 3.5m is a bargain Mallan is another u23 midfield option Even though both Gayle and Carrol could of been useful till summer I decided to let them both go in january and if needed I will use the various youngsters at the club Lejeune struggled to get into squad after the injury he starts with, so he started to moan about lack of first team football.

Sadly as we go into the last day of the season it looks like we went down the route of collapse, im amazed as of yet I have not been sacked Annoyingly very close with last relegation place and low end of mid table - going into last day up against Man City on the back of a convincuing victory 3-0 vs Chelsea. On paper we doomed but We might be able to pull something off. If I do get sacked, I will either aim to get another premier league job or do a Steve Maclaren and try to build a reputation abroad in either Portugal or Holland

The lads pulled off a result! Avoiding the drop and actually finishing 15th, lowest end of mid table, at a push!

Cups Was very annoyed to get knocked out by championship side Stoke! And the first top flight side we faced in either cups knocked us out, so as nice as the runs were, we had a very lucky draw in both cups, and probably should fo done better!

Overall squad stats The lack of assists from my midfield or fulll back options is a worrying aspect and outside of Joelinton goals have been tough to come by, and I even felt Joelinton has been quiet. As for youngsters that have impressed me within u23s and u18s squad I would like to mention someone who I trialed in 2 games as a 16 year old in AMC. - not quite ready but the little game time did help him As for youth intake day that Occured, no player impressed me even though I signed a batch. none at the mo look like they will be getting any first team action ever! hopefully next years batch will be better for us.

That's a huuuge game against City! How is your job security? Is the board happy with narrowly avoiding the drop?

Ruidiaz - another striking option, though if he dont cut it in his first season and Joelinton also continues to fail, they can both leave at end of season. Bowen was listed at Hull, so even though didnt need a wide option, I couldnt pass it up Moro is a young solid midfielder. Konsa, a young english defender - Will probably replace Clark. Massengo was transfer listed at Bristol. Taylor replaces Dummet Geraldes will act as a back up right sided full back , we Also signed Clyne on a free.
Only disapointed with Mallan who wanted to leave. made a small lose on the player.

Was not expecting this. my manager has highest qualifications and past playing expirience though.
in the last competition Gabon were in they did very well!
The initial squad that I have to work with has a sprinkle of game changing players in the right positions!
As things stand in the World Cup qualifiers

Forgot to post the results of the other group games we played, but we won the 4 games ive taken charge of and Auba isnt the only one scoring onto the third stage Winners qualify for the World Cup Ivory Coast have higher quality players than us, so it will be a tough ask.
2-2 in first leg and we were 1-0 up in the second but lost 3-1 in the end, 5-3 loss over the two legs
after the dream being over this happened The nation have little hope of doing well with this major blow.
