Deportivo La Coruña 2026-27 Season August 2026 Report OverviewSo, a quick update before I go to bed as I just finished August. It was a good month, with a few games, the UCL draw, a fantastic debut and an almost scare/suprise that never was.News So, the transfer window came and I managed to move the few remaining youngsters on loan, Miguez to Napoli (where he'll play as a Ball Playing Defender, which might be a good shift for him as he's a natural CB as well as RW), Duván Osorio to affiliate Lugo (I loaned him for two seasons as he'll come back EU National and thus usable as I think he's a decent backup RB for the future, but needs to be EU for that) and finally Cesareo to Cadiz.Unfortunately I was unable to sell Hlozek who had several offers for him and rejected them all. He will end up going to Nantes on loan who'll cover the whole £30k per week wage of him, but have no buy clause unfortunately. At least we won't have to pay him.As a nice bonus on deadline day, Fabio Silva was bought by Inter for £38.5M meaning we got £9.5M from the transfer, pretty decent deal to whomever shold him to Hoffenheim (I think I first loaned him there).I was on the verge, of buying Argentinean Matías Olmedo from River as they accepted a £6M offer from us. At that price he's a beast and I thought I'd sell Espósito to have the Argentinean backup Ruan and be cover for the AM spots. In the end the thing broke up as he wanted to be assured a big role and a huge paycheck, and also I'd risked annoying the team (and you guys) for selling Esposito. Don't get me wrong I almost pulled the trigger and felt good doing it, but he wanted almost £150k per week and a £10M signing bonus while Esposito earns £85k per week and is at least as good as Olmedo if not better.
We drew a tough group in the UEFA Champions League, alongside Juventus, RB Leipzig and Famalicão. I think we can top the group, but it won't be easy for sure. Finally, there was a promise made to Boubacar Kamara to strengthen the midfield of the squad and he was happy it was kept by us.MatchesAs I already reported on the UEFA Super Cup game, there's only 3 La Liga games to report here. All I can say lads, is that there's a New Kid in Town.We started off ransacking Granada with a magnificent 7-1 win with goals coming from 7 different players. Adauto, Soares, Ruan, Kamara, Rego, Condemi and Reyna scored for us, with Pedro Rego assisting on 4 goals and taking home his first Man of the Match Award. But Rego was just warming up as he followed his 1 goal 4 assist La Liga debut with a 4 goal effort against Málaga, scoring all goals for the game in a 4-2 win. Rego scored early, before lifting us up after falling 1-2 behind with back-to-back goals at 64' and 65' and completed his poker at '89.Finally, we closed out September with another Man of the Match performance by newcomer Pedro Rego, who scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Atlético.Perfect start to the season fueled by Pedro Rego who in 4 official games (including the Super Cup), scored 6 goals and also had 6 assists with a 8.88 rating. Rego kept his on fire streak in his first senior cap for Portugal on the International Window scoring a goal as well.Final Words- Despite the great start, I'm a bit worried about Ruan who only scored 1 goal and in a penalty kick in the whole month, and as usual averaged around 6.5 rating when not scoring. I played him as a Complete Forward during the month, to try and have him participate a bit more of the build-up in attack, but it didn't work so I'll move him back to the Advanced Forward role. - Financially we're on a good spot, with £161M in the bank. - With the start of the Champions League I'll start to rotate the squad a bit on La Liga.

Is it safe to say we're the best side in Spain right now? It sure seems like it to me! Great job guys, I'm going to inherit the best team yet without much to do, can't wait.

If you use IF's wide, who will supply Ruan? I thought about it, but he has had scoring oportunities mate, quite a few in fact, he just hasn't scored on them.

Deportivo La Coruña 2026-27 Season September 2026 Report OverviewSecond month done, a few more games, the start of the UCL and some staff news.News I sorted out the staff as we were missing a lot of positions, including Technical Director, Loan Manager and a few scouts. I hired the best of the best with 18-20 in the important abilities. I also upgraded the coaches as we had a few categories at 4 stars, and now boast all 4.5 stars, with the exception of the one coached by Alvarez-Polanco that has 5 stars. I did it without firing any of the great personality coaches. The training screen looks like this now: MatchesAs I have done in the past I'll cover all the La Liga games first, then the ones from the UCL.We kicked off the month visiting Espanyol at Montjuic and we played good with goals from Ruan and Reyna. It wasn't a great game as we struggled with possession, but shot a lot.We then followed with a bashing of Villarreal at Riazor. Kamara, Condemi, Rego and a brace from Ruan gave us the win in a dominant performance.Mid-week we faced Getafe at home and again pleayed greatly winning 3-0, with goals from Reyna and a brace from Vignato. To finish the month, we got one over Goretzka with a 3-0 win over Osasuna at Riazor, with goals from Adauto, Esposito and Uduokhai. It was a solid, yet unspectacular month as we improve our perfect start to 7 games, with a terrific +22 goal difference. We didn't concede a single goal domestically all month.
Now, onto the UEFA Champions League and our tough group, we started off against RasenBallsport Leipzig who surprised us in Germany beating us 0-2 to shock the world and hand us our first defeat of the season. Again we struggled with possession and as the first half was closing out a free kick goal sent us 0-1 at halftime. In the second half, we had a goal turned away by VAR, and a few minutes later VAR sanctioned a penalty for RBL that put us away for good. Not a good start. We then faced Juventus at Riazor and managed to squeeze out a narrow 1-0 win with a terrific goal from Pablo Sánchez. Possession is starting to become an issue (which is weird as this same tactic dominates possession in Holland on my NEC save). but at least we managed to outshoot Juventus and won with Sánchez's genius shot. It's a narrow group so far, now we'll face Famalicao twice and getting six points is crucial to get an advantage and reach the last two games in a dominating position.
Ruan's still worrying me, but I've kept tweaking the tactic to both try and solve the possession issue and also to take more advantage of the Brazilian talent's.Final Words- We're losing tons of money. Last month we lost around £10M and from what I saw it's something regular and not that we overspent in something. I think until the new stadium is ready, we will have to keep relyiing on prize money and player sales. - Despite that we're good still on the business front, with £150M in the bank.

A bit hard on yourself. A great start in the league. £10m a month is massive loses, how much are we spending on wages?

Deportivo La Coruña 2026-27 Season October 2026 Report OverviewAnother short update, six games five from La Liga and one from the Champions League. I'll skip the news as it was a rather quiet month with the only action coming from the pitch.MatchesSix more games, here we go!In typical FM fashion, after reporting a terrific unbeaten start with 7 straight wins in La Liga, we got our first defeat, a 0-1 loss with a last minute goal against Sevilla. We didn't play bad, but it was a pretty tight game, where Sevilla ended up getting an undeserved win in a corner goal. In all fairness we didn't deserve to win but also didn't deserve to lose.We recovered right away though, in a counter attacking masterclass (sort of unintended as this tactic supposedly favours possession) against Barcelona, getting a terrific 4-0 win at Riazor. Adauto opened up the scoring in the frst half and in the second we just demolished them on clinical counter attacks generating 5 clear cut chances alone in the second period. A brace from the bench of Esposito and a goal from Reyna completed the rout.Real Sociedad have been climbing in the table and sat in the top 5 at that point. We played a good game and should've scored but in the end made their GK the man of the match and we only took a point back home.A similar game than the one against Real Sociedad, Girona was a tough team to face as they sat back and limited spaces for us to operate and restricting us to long shots. Esposito scored early for us and that meant we weren't on a rush for the rest of the game, while Girona got most of their shots in the last 15 minutes, including a clear chance where Ulaş showed why he is one of the top keepers in the world. Our last game from La Liga this month was a good solid win over Athletic, 3-0 at Riazor. We again struggled to keep the ball, but comfortably outshot the opponent. Ruan scored and assisted Pedro Rego, while the third goal came from an own goal. We're comfortably atop the league right now with a 7 point cushion over Barca who have recovered after a bad start.
Now, onto the only UCL game of this month, Famalicão was the weakest team in the group and we needed to beat them in both games to keep our chances of qualifying for the Knockouts. We did win the first game, with a terrific 4-0 in Portugal, with goals from Adauto, Reyna, Ruan and Pedro Rego.
Juventus beat RBL in Turin, making the group even more tight at the top. We're still in danger of falling into the Europa League if not at our best in the rest of the games.
Final Words- Another month were we lost £10M. Our income was of £9M (with £4M coming in from TV money, £2.3M from Prizes and just £875k from Gate Receipts in two home games) while our expenditure was a whopping £19M (£7M in player wages, £2M in bonuses, £1.8M in staff wages, £1.6M in loan repayments, £1.1M in taxes and £1M in loyalty bonuses). This is a major problem, our 40k stadium is being filled 98% in average on La Liga games and we sold out our only UCL home game of the season. Next month we'll have 4 home games including 2 in UCL, so I expect the receipts number to go up to around £1.6-1.7M which should help a bit. Still our best bet is to keep winning in the UCL (£2.2M per win) and aim for the end of season bonuses to keep afloat. - We currently have £139M in the bank.

That's not an easy group stage in Europe, so well done to perform as well as you have so far.

I'm not sure what's going on with the finances. I know we lost money each month during my stint, but I don't remember it being as high as £10m per month. Hopefully the stadium move can offset the wages/matchday income balance we need.
Great work on the pitch too Chaodck. Tough CL group there, like Guido says, you've done well so far. Cruising in the league too.

Deportivo La Coruña 2026-27 Season November-December 2026 Report OverviewI've reached the end of the stint, pretty much a strange stint with amazing results but with the team not playing the way I intended them to. Again not much news, so I'll go directly into the games and give out a bit of a newsreel and my insight in the final section of the post.MatchesThe final nine games of the stint came in the last two months. Seven for La Liga and the last two Champions League group games.
We kicked it off with boring 1-0 win over Valencia at Riazor with a single goal from Ruan from the penalty spot. Defensively we're a force to be reckoned, but somehow despite getting a lot of shots we just don't generate enough chances and the ones we generate end up wasted. Fortunately we found a way through the penalty here.
Another clean sheet and another win, this time a 2-0 over Levante with goals from Ruan and Esposito. We didn't dominate as much as against Valencia, but we played well and again the defence stepped up.
This time we didn't manage to get a clean sheet, but still got the win a hard fought 2-1 win over Betis with again a good job on the possession and shots front. Goals came fom a brace off Esposito and we conceded on the last minute unfortunately to keep us from another clean sheet.
Next came the Gallego Derby and we were dominant again, and the changes in the tactic seem to have improved the possession numbers for us, with 3 of the last 4 La Liga games over 60%. We smashed our historic rivals, with a dominant performance and scores from Esposito, Vignato and Ruan.
Next came Real Sporting and again a 60% possession game, and a lot of goals, I'm starting to enjoy the way we're playing finally! Esposito kept his terrific streak of play with a goal and two assists, with the other goals coming from Pedro Rego and a brace from Adauto.
Finally we faced last placed team Elche who had conceded 42 goals and somehow played the defensive game of their year to hold us to a 1-1 draw. The only goal was scored by Pedro Rego and despite us playing well we just couldn't find the net.
We're standing comfortably atop the League en route for a second title in a row. Barcelona again fell in form after having a couple of good months in between, and Real Madrid seems to be main obstacle for the re-peat.
In the UCL, we professionally (or boringly) dispatched Famalicão in a game before the big tactical change that allowed us to improve the possession numbers, the only goal came from Ruan, who seized a mistake by our former GK Iñaki Peña. Again, another boring 1-0 win this time over RBL secured our qualification for the Knockouts as Juventus surprisingly lost against Famalicão. The goal came from Ruan on a penalty. It was after this game that I re-tweaked the tactic and never again we lost on ball control.Already qualified, we had to get a result against Juventus to secure the first place in the group and we did in a 1-1 draw from a late goal of Esposito. We played good, even when we were down and fortunately managed to get a result to put us in 1st place after RBL beat Famalicão and we edged them in the table by a single point. We topped the group finally it wasn't easy but we prevailed. The luck of the draw wasn't on our side though and we'll face Lyon on the Knockouts, we avoided Liverpool and Tottenham, but after those two, Lyon were the hardest.
It was a good final pair of months. The re-balance of the tactic made us concede more goals (we conceded 6 goals in the first 20 games, then conceded 4 in the last 5 after the tweak), but I'm having more fun playing with a team that keeps the ball better, so yeah I'd make the change again. We might struggle a bit against teams that pack themselves in the back as Elche did, though.
Adauto and Felix Uduokhai ended up being our best players, the first with 6 goals and 3 assists in 23 games with a 7.43 rating and the second with 2 goals, 2 assists in 22 games, and a 7.43 rating. Pedro Rego cooled off after a brilliant start and ended up spending some time on the bench as Esposito took over for him when the fans started complaining about his performances, Rego finished with 11 goals and 8 assists in 24 games (21 starts), with a 7.40 rating. Other great performers include Boubacar Kamara (23 games, 4 goals, 7.36), Salva Condemi (20 games, 2 goals, 2 assists, 7.29), Gio Reyna (23 games, 5 goals, 3 assists, 7.23), Ruan (24 games, 11 goals, 5 assists, 7.17) and Sebastiano Esposito (20 games, 10 goals, 3 assists, 7.14). I have to reserve a special spot for Gürkan Ulaş, who shined at goal. He played 22 games, conceding just 9 goals with 15 clean sheets. Fucking amazing. Our backup keeper Duccio Rocchiccioli played 3 games with 1 conceded goal and 2 clean sheets so pretty neat as well. Rocchiccioli is now part of the Italy NT setup, despite him not earning his first cap still.Final Words- We did have a better November in finances, losing "only" £6M, with the added gate receipts and prize money from the UCL. Still it's a lot of money we're losing and hopefully as Nick said the new stadium fixes our issues. - We currently have £132M in the bank. - Regarding the squad, I think we're in a great spot. Esposito's contract runs up at the end of the season and Barcelona is after him. If we want to keep him it's important to start negotiations as soon as possible. Pablo Sánchez and Vignato's contract end at the end of 2027-28 so that might need looking into as well. - We have still £52M in the transfer budget and around £400k per week in the wage budget in case Kova wants to delve into the winter market. I don't think we need anything, as we've got around 30 players good enough for the senior squad either on the team or on loan to develop. - The save stands at December 14th. I have training setup for a couple of weeks, and my schedules are loaded in case you want to implement them Kova. There's a friendly arranged for the last week of December as well.
Here's the save to download. Have a blast Kova!

I also forgot about a small detail, we lost Carlos Marchena our AM to Oviedo. I offered him a renewal upping his salary a lot, but in the end he chose to go to be the Manager of Oviedo on the second tier. I offered a contract to Mikel Arteta, who's similar to Marchena in terms of ability (despite not being as good as him), and also in personality being a Model Professional (compared to Marchena's Perfectionist). If you want to go with it Kova, go with it, if you want someone else, it's your call.

Hi fellas, can't read the updates right now because I'm in the final week of my exams, so if anyone wants to take over instead of me, I'm ok with it.
If not, I can download the save on Friday and finish it by Sunday night or Monday morning.

Sorry for the slow progress. I played through January but a powercut meant I lost 2 weeks and had to scrap my update. To top that a friend lost his fight with cancer this morning so I haven't had the head on to play. Tomorrow marks the start of 2 weeks off so will get through it quickly.

Thanks everyone. Having had a little think yesterday I am going to drop out for a little while. I just can't be bothered loading up the computer etc at the moment.
Kova if you take over you need to get Helier in the reserves a new contract. Looks a good talent.
There were a couple of good players available on bosman. Squad players who could turn a decent profit. Can't remember who they were, can load the game if needed tho
