Good progress again stouters, really like how you've pushed this league up into the top 10 of European leagues mate. How's Glentoran looking after you left? Still in shambles or have they mounted some sort of comeback?

Thank you, but not in the top 10 just yet. Sitting 12th. Glentoran have had a shocking season even though they finished 2nd. Their team still looks ok, but its nothing compared to what i left them and its nothing to what it should be considering the money i left them. Here's hoping to a more competitive season from them next year.

Portadown End of Season Update 2041/42
League Once again we win the league, but this time it was a lot eaier.I’m sure having the 2 top goal scorers in the division goes a long way in securing our 5th title in a row. Jesus had an impressive debut season alongside Burns. He scored a very decent 23 goals in 31 appearances, while Burns managed a potentially Golden Boot winniny tally of 36 goals in 34 appearances. The prize money for winning the league has gone up to £879k and of that we pay £725k to the team. I don’t know what happened to Glentoran. They pushed us all the way last season and then this season they lose 8 times. I’m sure the departure of Mario Gomez just before christmas had an effect, especially when your replacement is Connor Roberts. Cliftonville put out the other members of the top 4 on their way to winning the Irish Cup, so i guess it’s only fair that they get 3rd place and the Europa League spot. Hopefully Institute are still an ok team and will take advantage of their Europa Conference League early qualifiers. I’m sure that will do the National Club Coefficient the world of good. Transfers After pushing my luck with using players that don’t normally play on the left, i go and sell 2 left backs. Charlie Chaplin is continuing to get his name worldwide by agreeing to go to Al-Ain for £3.1m rising to £4.1m. Geninho was a player that i wasn’t really looking to sell, but after a bid of haggling £9.5m for a 27yr old it wasn’t to be sniffed at. Kvile got the baptism of fire against Glentoran in our 3-1 win over them at home. I think i just need to buy a couple of players on the left. Maybe one left back and a LM. I'll probably aim for younsters as Janicki is good for a while in midfield. Other We get £538k for winning the Mid-Ulster cup. I accidentally took over the Irish Cup match against Crusaders and got beat. We also get £379k Champions League revenue and £2.86m in coefficient money. This is the intake - This piss poor show for an intake coupled with the poolr selection of personalities meant that i decided to not sign anyone. We will get a stadium expansion that will just about be enough to let us have European football at our ground. Who was stupid enough to decide that? Playing in a 8,000 seater vs playing in a 24,194 seater. We got £350k for a game in the Champions League at Glentoran’s ground, we won’t get that at home. This expansion will cost £2.5m. Our current capacity is 5,260 with a reduction of 650, the expansion is 2,090. The youth facilities are also getting upgraded and it will cost £1.9m. I might as well push on to get the stadium expanded as much as possible now. By the time we actually get a new stadium the league will hopefully be repped a little higher. N.I. Teams In Europe Portadown - Finished 4th in the Champions League group stage. Glentoran - Never made it past PSV in the Europa League 1st ko round. They beat them 1-0 only to lost 4-0 in the return leg. Institute - Lost in the Europa Conference League 4th Qualifying round by AA Gent. Ballymena - Knocked out by BK Hacken in the Europa Conference League 2nd Qualifying round. Our NCC (National Club Coefficient) is exactly 6.000 I can't help but feel this is a poor post. I don't know if i'm not explaining anything enough or what. I hope the pre-season has a bit more to say.

Portadown Pre-Seaon Update 2042/43 Friendlies Transfers What a transfer window it has been. Player values jumped and this also brought slightly inflated transfer bids. Novak and Pires were under constant bids and on a few occasions i nearly broke. I probably could’ve raised £40m between them when the time was right. Pires is still my best CB and the bids for Novak faded away, so they are both still at the club. A lot of players went out on loan especially to domestic clubs, 2 to Ballymena and 2 to Cliftonville. I think the player’s time at the club is near and they’re really just running down the time on the contract. Jean Diouf - Every player has a price and this fella is a victim of this. I made the usual mistake of dabbling with bids for players i have no intention of selling. After a while of dabbling too often, Watford accepted an unthinkable suggested bid - £31m upfront with £20m in installments AND 50% sell-on fee. How on earth can i refuse that? From St Etienne for £2m to Watford for £51m in 79 appearances for the club. Not bad. Ronnie Jennings* - I probably overpaid for him, but sod it, i handed over £20m no bother. The wonderkid media description was always going to be important, but he does look quite decent. I originally was going to trigger a clause in the contract for £36m, luckily the scout told me that he would be available for £20m. He’ll most likely partner Burns up front. Graham Buchan* - I probably could’ve done a bit better in my search for a left-back and £1.8m is a lot for hi current ability. I hope he can justify it. Jean-Phillippe Collet* - Still a bit wet behind the ears, so i need to be careful i don’t waste him. Bought for £1.2m potentially rising to £2.2m after 50 appearances. Sebastian Barrios* - After a little pestering, i finally got my man. He didn’t want to join for a while and that wasn’t a part of tthe plan. Daan Van de Berg* - I probably paid over the odds for him, but if i can keep on developing him then i’m sure it will be worth it. The balance sits at a healthy £77m. I imagine i should just push on with stadium expansion requests. I need to max it out then go for the new stadium. I am absolutely delighted to break into the top10 of the league reps. It has been mostly an upward journey with the occasional hiccup, but the show isn’t over yet. This is probably were the real hard work begins. The winning of continental trophies needs to start happening. It’s certainly easier to slip down the rankings than it is to climb. At best i think we’ll go up one more time before there’s anymore real progress. I have every faith that the NI teams will chip in one way or another. N.I. Teams In Europe Portadown - We meet Bayern Munich again, FC RB Salzburg and Porto. As 3rd seeds I’m hoping for 3rd at least. Glentoran - I couldn’t believe when i viewed the Champions League groups and didn’t see Glentoran there. They just about beat Standard Liege 2-1agg before losing to Slavia Prague. I know i lost to them before, but i had a disjointed team from injuries. They should’ve had no excuse. They have Fenerbache, Hertha Berlin and Slovan Bratislava in the Europa League group stage. I expect 2nd at least from them. Institute - Did ok despite failing to qualify for the Europa Conference League. They beat Hearts 5-1agg in the ECL Best Place 3rd Qualifying round but lost 3-1agg to Feyenoord in the 4th Qualifying round. Larne - Knocked out by MFK Ruzomberok of Slovakia 2-1agg in the Europa Conference League 2nd Qualifying round. Cliftonville - All they had to do to qualify for the Europa Conference League was lose 10-1agg to Rangers in the Europa League Playoff. In their group is Viktoria Plzen, Cukaricki and Rosenborg.

Portadown Mid-Seaon Update 2042/43
League
Something wrong with this picture, i can’t quite put my finger on it. I forgot to gyazo the league table. FML! In short Institute are top of the league with 3 draws and no defeats. That is tricky enough at the best of times. We are sitting 2nd with 3 defeats and a draw. I think this might explain why i'm a bit distracted from taking a pic of the table. What on earth is going on! When was the last time i had 3 defeats in a season, never mind the fiest half of one? A quick check says 2 seasons ago. Fair play to Institute, they are on the form of their life and we are not even attempting to match it. They have managed to beat us twice and don’t look like stopping. The only thing i keep telling myself is they have to drop points sometime. Only time will tell if they have the bottle to dust themselves off and get back to winning ways. Institute having a good defensive record isn’t new to me. They used to play the 5-3-2wbs, while that gave them clean sheets, they didn’t score a great deal. I had a quick look at their squad and it isn’t anything special.
I could come off with a few excuses as to why i think we are underforming. The first one that comes to mind is the age of the squad. I think we’re just too young. Most games we have 7 or 8 players aged 21 or younger. There is also a bit of a leadership void with the squad. Chambers is our captain but not first choice and GK Miller isn’t the best at being captain. Saying that, we managed 4 wins in the Champions League and i’m not complaining about ages or leaders. Maybe it’s tactical, maybe the players don’t care about anything less than Champions League football. Finishing 2nd isn’t the end of the world. We would still qualify, it’ll just take a few more matches. The trouble with Institute winning the league is they won’t fall into the Europa League and then the Europa Conference League, they’ll finish 4th. This could cost NCC points.
I’m still confident that we’ll win the league, i just need to stop tinkering.
Also, Let’s laugh at Linfield. Transfers
Bit of a nightmare transfer window. Gospodinov nearly went to Valencia for £46m but i held off due to needing him for the 2nd half of the season. I promised him he would be sold in the summer. Gospodinov is one RB, Messaoudi is the other. I somehow left his contract renewal until it was too late, and lost lost him to Monaco, he leaves in the summer . He still had loads of potential and the killer is we don’t get any compensation. Another balls up is Matthew Scott. This time Scott fell out with me because he wasn’t playing enough and, despite my best efforts, i was too late to get on his good side and lost him on a free as well. I’m litterally shaking my head right now. Institute chanced their arm by asking for Pavlovic. The goal keeper has plenty of potential and would get into my side next year, if i can find another captain. Kris Born leaves for Glentoran. He isn’t the kid he could’ve been, but still usable. Hansen* and Rego* were bought and scouted well before they arrived in Portadown, so their potential isn’t as high as i would like. They don’t look too special, but with a little TLC, they might come good. Other
We get £620k for unallocated money for drawn matches. I can’t help but feel that upgrading the facilities is taking a lifetime to do. The Youth facilities are currently average and are getting upgraded. This will cost £2m. The new stadium request is the only one of the 2 stadium request now popping up. I’m assuming we can’t expand anymore. I’m not in a big rush for the stadium now, but it doesn’t stop me wanting it. We have the money, but i think i’m going to need to spend it on players in the summer. This is something i haven't had with Glentoran of Portadown - European Golden Boy IntakeN.I. Teams In EuropePortadown - With a group containing Bayern Munich, Porto and RB Salzburg, you would be forgiven if you thought we would finish 3rd at best. We didn’t. We finished 2nd! We’re turning into Bayern’s bogey team after taking 7 points in 4 games over the last couple of years. Absolutely delighted with 2nd. The wins over Salzburg were necessary and the home tie against Porto was a huge game for the players. They looked to be all over us early in the match and then got the goal to show for it. Apparently i got praise for my words at HT when we were losing 1-0. I think what the player speaking to the media meant to say was they got a right bollocking. We were getting more shots on goal but they looked like they would score and did. I don’t usually give aggressive TTs, but this was an important match and we were at ‘home’, The Oval. No idea why were playing at The Oval, Glentoran’s old ground. 4 games won at £2.3m each and then i think we get £8m for qualifying for the 1st ko round of the Champions League. Some nice money coming in there. We play Leeds Utd in the First ko round. I definitely don’t expect to get anything from this. They are throwing money about and are sitting 3rd in the EPL. Glentoran - Finished 2nd as i had hoped. They play Wolfsburg in the Europa League 1st ko round. I think they may be a step too far I hope i’m wrong, but i don’t expect anything. Cliftonville - 1 win and 2 draws in the group stage. Did better than what i thought they would do. I'm just disappointed at how they are doing in the DBP. The next 2 seasons are going to be very important with regards to the NCC. The start of next season will see the 6.100 from season 37/38 leave and the 5.200 will leave the season after that. Our NCC for this season is sitting at 6.200. I really want a better performance from the NI clubs to ensure we don’t lose that 2nd CL spot.

Marshdweller @dale Too damn close. I was certainly aware we could bottle it too. Ballymena had beaten us earlier in the season and given the importance of the match, I'm glad we didn't bottle it. I've never finished the season level on points before. Good job we have the correct way to sort teams - GD. I'm hoping for an update later today. It'll be a bit of a rant type post.

Portadown End of Season Update 2042/43 League You can look at this title win in two ways. You can say, ‘epic comeback! 10pts behind Institute after 22 games!’ Or you can say, ‘What the hell was that?’ 6 defeats and win the league? You don’t deserve it!’ I am being honest, if it was between ourselves and Institute for the title and not Glentoran, i would’ve lost intentially. Institute deserve much more than Europa League Playoff football. I do feel sorry for Institute. They finished 3rd after an epic run in the first half of the season. We had to be the team that give them their first defeat and we pegged each other back in the league after that. If they can offer another title challenge next season then i might not be so pissed at winning the league. I imagine £13m would’ve made a huge difference to their finances and future. Glentoran deserve a fair bit of credit. They almost took advantage of Institute’s drop. They were 8pts behind us at one point and only lost out on the league by GD. They made an impressive improvement on last season’s no-show. Hopefully, they won’t come so close to costing us a title. I'm a bit annoyed with the number of goals we’ve conceded - 23. It isn’t good enough for us and it certainly isn’t good enough for the money spent on the defense. The total only comes to near £30m, but that is a lot for this league and the players should’ve done a lot better this season. I’ve never been so annoyed at a title win, or annoyed at a title win full-stop. If we had a huge lead and almost blow it, then yeah, relief would’ve been the right feeling. Maybe there’s a smell of entitlement flowing through this post. I don’t know. While it wasn’t an absolute certainty, if i had been sacked from Portadown, i don’t know if i would’ve carried on with the save. Also, let’s laugh at Linfield. Fixtures*Cups** Despite my ranting we actually did quite well in the Cups. It would’v been nice to get the clean sweep including the Irish Champions Cup. Other We get £3.81m for our coefficient ranking pool table place, up from £2.86m last year. We also get £593k for Champions League tv revenue and just over £500k for playing in and winning the Irish Cup. Players I suppose the players had to do something right to win the league. Jennings has had a go at justifying his £20m move by scoring 26 goals in 33 league appearances and Burns scored 25 in 31 appearances. Bottaro won both Danske Bank Premiership Player of the Year and DBP Young Player of the Year. The fan’s liked him too as he was their Player of the Year. The intake was a joke. The highest potential was 2.5*pa and 7 of the better players had either unambitious or low determination as their personality. Nobody was signed. N.I. Teams In Europe Portadown - With 4 wins at £2.32m and £8m for playing in the the 1st ko round of the Champions League, our finances are sitting at £77m. We gave it our best at home with the team that went on to finish 2nd in the EPL and held them to a 2-2 draw. The return leg saw Leeds put us firmly in our place beating us 3-0. A red card just before HT and after i used up all 3 subs, we got a player injured. I hope that getting to the 1st ko round is the start of some progress. Glentoran - After they qualified from the Europa League group finishing in 2nd place, they went on to play Wolfsburg in the 1st ko round. They did better than expected beating them on aways goals after a 2-2 draw. Napoli would be the team that puts them out in the 2nd ko.round 3-0agg. Cliftonville - 1 win and 2 draws in the group stage. Did better than what i thought they would do. I'm just disappointed at how they are doing in the DBP.

Some good progress for the NI clubs mate, interesting to see your approach upping the league's teams. Are you planning on splashing some of that hard earned cash into overpaying for lads in the other teams?

Cheers, Chaodck. I'll not give clubs money they way i did the last time with Glentoran. I gave Portadown and the rest of the teams in the division £5m and within 5yrs Portadown had blown it all. So, i don't think there's much point in it. I'm happy for an elite group to form that would mean the same teams can get their money naturally, through competition prize money. Thosse teams will hopefully make themselves stronger. When i offer a player out for loan i usually target domestic clubs.

Portadown Pre-Season Update 2043/44 Friendlies After signing Toriyama* the chairman recommended that i arrange a tour of Japan to boost shirt sales. So, for the first time we headed to Japan and conveniently played against Toriyama’s first club, Saitama United. I was only able to arrange 2 matches and the other was Okayama FC. I don’t know if the tour had any effect on the finances, but i will be arranging friendlies over there next season. I’ve been trying to get a merchandise club for a while with no joy. I also signed a former Many City Player on a free - Rob James*Other Our youth facilities are getting upgraded as they are currently average. The league rep is still sitting 10th, but i think the NCC moved up one to 8th. If we are to get another Champions League place then we need something special from the NI teams. The gap in coefficient is just too big between NI and Portugal. So, maintaining our current position is going to be considered an achievement until i can get Portadown past the Champions League group stage. Players I don’t think there is anything special to report about the players. Apart from Gospodinov is determined to run down his contract, the only thing to really say is Bottaro has renewed his contract with us. I had the opportunity to sell Burns for £10m, but i don’t think i would’ve benefitted from selling him as he is a proven goalscorer and club icon. We had plenty of offers for Players that i’m not interested in selling. Glentoran are determined to get a former youth player of ours, Luke Eagle. He isn’t anything special, but he can be used and will help with our HG registration. Pires, Novak, Miller, Jesus, Jennings and plenty more have been bid for this year. None of them are interested in going and they didn’t exactly make me offers i couldn’t refuse. I could easily have made £150m in transfers, but i would have to basically restart the building process and this would affect the improvement of the league rep. Bottaro could have left for Watford for £90m and i rejected it. I still don’t believe i did it. The money is of no use to me as i can’t offer the wages to players that need to replace him and i can’t talk to some players because they have no interest in joining. N.I. Teams In Europe Portadown - We head straight to the group stage where get get another tough group. This year i’m not expecting 2nd place as we are in the same group as Man Utd, PSG and FC RB Salzburg. I’ll settle for 3rd place. Glentoran - Another disappointing effort to get to the Champions League group stage. They put out Slavia Prague in the 3rd round qualifier...just. They beat them 3-0 at home and lost 3-1 away. Payback for last year. They played PSV in the playoff and immediately got beat 3-0 away. They at least won the 2nd leg 2-1 which is better than nothing. They are in the Europa League group stage with Maribor, St. Johnston and Dynamo Kyiv. They really should be finishing 1st in a group like that. Institute - They played Molde in the Europa League Playoff and lost 1-0 at home and 2-1 away. I’m a little disappointed, but its hard to tell what level they should be at sometimes. They drop into the Europa Conference League and play AEK Athens, Rosenborg and Sturm Graz. I would love to see them get 2nd, but it most likely to be 3rd. Ballymena - Beat Rejika 1-0 at home after drawing 1-1 away in the Europa Conference League Best Placed 3rd qualifying round. They lost 2-0 away and drew 1-1 with the team that ended up in Institute’s group - Sturm Graz. Cliftonville - They beat RoPS 3-0 agg in the Europa Conferene League but lost 2-1 agg against another team that ended up in Institute’s group - Rosenborg.

Portadown Mid-Season Update 2043/44
League Very happy with how things are going at the minute. The goals scored is unbelievable. 87 of them! Our attack has been ruthless at times with a 6-0, 7-0, 8-0 and a 9-0, as well as 2 7-1 wins. The defence is back on form with only 8 goals conceded. This includes our recent spell of injuries that had at least 4 first-team players out at the same time, including GK, Miller. Glentoran are doing well to keep up with us and Institute and Larne are having a little domestic over 3rd place. I hope Institute get it. Cups* OtherThe 6-0 win over Sligo in the Irish Champions Cup is the biggest scoreline since 2020 when Dundalk beat my semi-pro Glentoran side 5-1. Our youth facilities continue to be upgraded. They will move on from good costing £2m and should be done by next September. I asked the board for a feeder club to recruit youngsters from. They offered me a huge list for a change with quite a lot of them being 3* rep. I could’ve trolled Dundalk, who have won all but 4 of the Irish titles since the save started, but their facilities aren’t anywhere near good enough. In the end i went with Defensor Sporting Club. Their facilities are Exceptional Youth Recruitment, Ecellent Academy Coaching and Great Youth Facilities, and they are Uruguayan. I hope scouting knowledge gets a little boost. It’s currently sitting at 17%. PlayersTwo players that are standing out are Botarro* and Jennings*. Botarro had to be given a new contract, not because he wanted it, but because he didn’t utter one complaint about not being sold and his wages were making him desirable. The vultures went away for a while, but have since returned. His 10 goals and 16 assissts would catch some attention. Jennings is another wanted man and he is on fire! 29 goals in 22 games. Even though he isnt’ that good with penalties, i had to put him on them. He’s bound to get the Golden Boot and could possibly break the current goalscoring record in the league. Including the other competitions, Jennings has 45 goals in 34 appearances. Intake N.I. Teams In Europe Portadown - We were firmly put in our place in the first couple of games against Man Utd and PSG. Their attack just ran through us like a knife through butter. The return matches against Man Utd and PSG were a bit better, We actually looked like we wanted to win, sadly the quality was clear and we didn’t do anything worthwhile. The matches against Salzburg were pretty straightforward and i knew we would win. 3rd place is what i wanted and got. We play Basel in the 1st round of the Europa League, definitely winable. Glentoran - Topped their group as expected so they play in the 2nd ko round of the Europa League. Institute - With 4 wins and a draw against AEK and a loss to Rosenborg, Institute have qualified for the 2nd ko round of the Europa Conference League. The NCC is sitting at 7.100. I’m pretty certain that the NCC will push us up one in the Qualifications Table and will hopefully bump up the league rep too.

The next match was against Ards and we beat them 7-0. That takes us up to 94. With 15 games left, we need another 75 to beat the record I set at Glentoran. As optimistic as I am, I don't think we'll beat it.

Portadown End of Season Update 2043/44
I think i’m pretty happy with how things have turned out for us this season. Cliftonville ruined a perfect 2nd half of the season with a 1-1 draw. I don’t think i could’ve asked for much more. We scored so many goals and did quite well with the clean sheets. I’m baffled as to how i got Glentoran to score 168 goals in a season, i thought we were doing a fantastic job this season! We have managed to break a 13yr old consecutive clean sheet record set by Glentoran. The record used to be 11, now 12, probably when i managed to gt Glentoran to go 30 competitive games without conceding. I discovered that Bottaro only played 25 games. He managed to score 13 goals and get 25 assists. I can only imagine what he could’ve got with a full season. Other£599k for Mid-Ulster Cup. We get a total of £450k for playing and losing the Irish Cup Final to Glentoran. I think i owe the assistant manager an appolgy. I took care of the Cup final without even thinking. We did deserve to win the match, but we couldn’t break them down. The penalties were a joke. We lost 10-11 with Burns missing both of his. He had been our main penalty taker before i put Jennings on them to boost his tally. Palmitessa also missed one. We have been subjected to a series of potential takeovers that come to nothing. It doesn't really affect us but it is annoying. I think that we won't get a new stadium under the current chairman. We have been given £597k for Champions League TV revenue and £10.49m for the coefficient ranking pool money. PlayersJennings breaks Burns’ 4yr old record of 46 goals by scoring 49. It would’ve been more but he picked up a little injury near the end of the season. While it isn’t an official record, Jennings has also broken a 10yr old record of 65 goals scored in all competitions set by Glentoran’s Luis Silva. Jennings scored 77 with 15 coming from penalties, Silva had 29 penalties scored. Bottaro has breaks a 6yr old record set by a Ballinamallard player, the record was 22 assists in the league and Bottaro makes it 24. He also sets a club record of 35 assists in all competitions beating the 5yr old record of 23 set by Brendon Connolly. We managed to get the clean sweep of junior awards. Jesus wins Rookie of the Year with Kvile in 2nd and Gospodinov 3rd. Jennings is top goalscorer with 49 goals in 34 appearances. I forgot to do the transfers* in the last update as there wasn’t much to report. Fredrik Bakke-Hanssen* Soufyane Meghfour* Bart Heremans* Intake*I reluctantly signed 2 players from the intake Burns* and Murray*. It will take a player with a lot of PA to make me sign him. N.I. Teams In EuropeAs you can see we have reached the Europa League Final. I thought this might be a good time to meet the starting 11. MillerGospodinovPiresBarriosKvileBottaroVan De BergJamesJanickiJenningsJesusPortadown - I’m a little bit gutted to lose the final. This would’ve been my 2nd win and the novelty of winning it with 2 teams would’ve been a personal boost. I’m also gutted because we really should’ve beat them. They were a bit over the place with their shooting, while we had 13 out of 18 on target. One of their goals came from a devastating counter-attack from our free-kick outside their box. Bottaro and Janicki failed to turn up and Jesus had Metgod to deal with. I had to drop that in there. That was their CB’s name. Metgod and Jesus. I’ll admit we didn’t have the biggest names to get past on the road to the final. Basel, Espanyol, Real Sociedad and Hertha Berlin. Normally, i would be thinking that we were going out, but i was looking at those names and thinking they are beatable. We only failed to win one match and that was the weakened squad after beating Basel 8-0 and we didn’t do too badly with conceding goals. Glentoran - Lost to Ajax 3-1 away and won 1-0 at home in the Europa League 2nd ko round. I can’t complain too much. I’m sure they would’ve pulled through on another day. Institute - I’m very pleased with their efforts in the Europa Conference League. They topped their group which gave them a bye to the 2nd ko round. They then faced AZ, which i’m sure is a tough apponent at the best of times. Institute went on to beat them 2-1 away and a 1-1 draw at home. They lost 2-1 away but won 3-2 at home. Looking at the stats, they could consider themselves unlucky to not win by more. Going out to Arsenal on aways goals is an achievement on its own. The NCC is sitting at an impressive 12.300. This is our 3rd best effort in the last 5yrs. Lets hope we can continue to do this as a nation. The same 3 core teams qualifying and doing well is a helping hand on its own.

Portadown Pre-Season Update 2044/45
Friendlies
We certainly didn’t do much for the carbon footprint with our treks around the world. The travelling started with a tour of Japan, i don’t know if it does any good to the finances, but there’s no harm in playing there. We got a message of that we had a training camp in Uruguay. I’ve no idea how this came about but i felt this was some sort of progress for the club. While we were there we playeed against 3rd division Oriental de la Paz and 1st division Cerro. The assistant manager threw in the games against Besiktas and Montreal Impact. Is someone trying to crack North and South America in one fell swoop? All but one of the games were taken care of quit easily by the Assisant Manager, he just slipped up once. TransfersThe bids that did come were poor and player unsettling for 2 players. Bottaro is a player i would’ve considered loyal especially after signing a new contract recently. The majority of players didn’t really want to leave and Bottaro was the same. For a while. PSG were one of the first teams to low-ball me with Bottaro. They were offering around £14m and not much more in add-ons, but Bottaro had no interest. Liverpool were the team to turn his head, but like PSG, they low-balled as well. Once upon a time i would’ve accepted with the inevitable playing teams off each other’s bids, not this time. Bottaro has fell out with me to the point of putting in a transfer request. Real Madrid and a Juventus have put in their idea of a bid. I have no interest in selling for buttons. They know it and i know it that Bottaro is worth a few notes. While i have to keep this club reaching for new hights, i will have to deal with the crap that comes with it. Miller is another player that got his head turned. I can’t remember if any particular team unsettled him, but now it’s anybody’s guess if i’ll win him over. He is simply the best GK i can get in his position. Kvile was probably one of a few players that i might’ve considered selling. DL Yifang offered a generous £47m mostly upfront, but he wasn’t interested. Players like Palmitessa and even Jennings were getting bids of around their value. Thankfully, nobody was bothered by it. The players that came in could be classed as panic buys, or player that i managed to get because if i didn’t we would be screwed. I really needed a RB, LM and a ST. I also realised that i was relying a little to heavily on Bottaro and co. when it came to the league. Yeah, the goals scored is fun, but players are suffering because they are not getting game time. Any young player s bought will be get more game time. Despite what i said there are plenty of players going out on loan. I was a little worried about the number of players coming in and thought it might affect the Champions League registration, but no. I only needed to add a couple of players to those automatically selected and i can still add to the squad if i wanted. Alan Bodin* is a young AMC that will hopefully feature a lot this season. The center of the midfield is flexible with what players i can select. Van de Berg suffered an injury that will keep him out for 2-3months, so this makes it easier. Davide Bertini* is much needed fire-power up front. I thought it would be unwise to rely on Jennings and Jesus to be fit for 60+ games this season. If i really need to Eagle can step in too. Also, before i did anything worthwhile, i got my coach Curtis Davies to get him to stop wih the long shots. Fraser Byrne* is another player i want to give plenty of game time to. Toriyama is 30yrs old and i really don’t want to trigger that £12m appearance fee. Guilherme* is going to play a lot. He has plenty of potential and is sure to take over Janicki’s place before long. A few others that came in Patrick Winking*, Mathieu Pausé* and Conor Allan*. 3 out of the 4 have been sent out on loan. I wasn't too impressed with this message. OtherI noticed a little change in the boards expectations for this year’s Champions League. They want us to qualify for the first round. Given our opposition this year, i expect it too. NI Teams In Europe Portadown - I got an amazing message to say that we are first seeds for the group stage! We play against Maribor, Trabzonspor and Lyon. I couldn’t believe how easy the group is. We have played Lyon twice before but that was 7 years ago, losing 1-0 and 2-0. We are a million times better and i would like to at least take 3pts off them. I really think we can push for first. Glentoran - Again they go out at the Playoff stage. They beat Aab 3-1 at home and 3-0 away then lost to a team i think they should be beating, Galatasaray. So, after another balls-up, they play Torino, GNK Dinamo and Aab (ffs). If they don’t get 2nd i’ll not be happy. Institute - Lost to Besiktas 3-1 away and 1-0 at home in the Europa League Playoff. The slip into the Europa Conference League and play FC Utrecht, Brondby IF and Cork City. A fairly even looking group, but i think they can get out of. Larne - Lost both of their ties against Osijek 2-0 in the Europa Conference League Best Placed 3rd Qualifying round. Ballymena - Lost 2-0 in the first leg away to Buducnost but beat them 2-1 in the Europa Conference League Best Placed 2nd Qualifying round. As per usual, Ourselves, Glentoran and Institute carry the coefficient on our shoulders. A bit more of a push and we can crack that 6th NCC which will do the job for Glentoran and give them the 2nd Champions League group stage spot. The Europa League will also get a group stage spot too. This is the NCC for the last 5yrs It was nice to see these messages appear.

Portadown Mid-Season Update 2044/45
League Once again we are flying in the league. Glentoran are proving to be a bit tricky to beat with 2 draws against them. They are also keeping up with us with ease. I don’t mind a little competition and i suppose it keeps me on my toes. Insistute and Ballymena are starting to break away a little, but i can’t see Institute catching Glentoran. As long as they get that Europa League spot, i’ll be happy. I can’t complain with how things are going as i have been playing a few players that need game time. Hansen, Bakke-Hanssen, Bodin and Guilherme, all getting as much time as possible. The expected complaints from players that have started to come in and i am happy to surrender. The younger players get their game time and i get to i get to play the better players. The strongest team i have plays in the Champions League. Our currnet unbeaten run has covered a full season as we have gone 42 games unbeaten in the league. We haven’t scored as many goals and i’m not overly bothered by it. The main thing is that Jennings is still banging them in. He has 33 goals in 22 appearances, more than last season. If i can keep him fit i see no reason why he can’t hit the 50 goal mark. Jonathan García* - Bought from Jagiellonia for £4.9m. He is already better defensively and physically than Novak. Juan Ignacio Soria* - A £5m buy from Lanus. I have a good feeling about this one. It has been an interesting transfer window for us this year. We have somehow managed to break a club record for transfer income. The previous record for transfer income received was £73m, this year it was £95m. The best transfer of the window is the one that never happpened. A bidding war started for Botttaro with Bayer Leverkusen bidding £17m. Bottaro didn’t want to go to them and i would love to have rejected straight awa, but i had to start somewhere, so i accepted. A few more teams came in but i had to play the teams off each other. In the end, Man Utd were the winners. They were about to get him for a paltry £25m with £15m add-ons and 50% sell-on fee. I didn’t accept straight away as i was still a little disappointed with the transfer fee and ultimately, Bottaro was holding out for a Liverpool move. Bottaro made the first move in him not going. Liverpool must’ve cooled their interest in him, so with no potential move he decided he was ok with staying and wanted his transfer request removed. I jumped on that in a heartbeat, rejected the bid and stopped searching for a Right-sided midfielder. I’ve only kept my man, but it feels like a new player. Benardo Jesus leaves for Southampton for £14.5m with £7.5m in installments and £7.5m after 50 league appearances and 50% sell-on fee. Robb James also leaves the club and is now at Liverpool. They bought him for £15m up front with £15m in installments as well as the 50% sell-on fee clause. Not bad for 44 league appearances after arriving on a free. Jan Novak is the last big sale. He leaves the club for £17m with £15m in installments. He wasn’t the best CB at the club and had been complaining about lack of game time. I had been able to play him to shut him up, that was the only reason for playing him. I don’t think i would’ve been able command that fee again, so i managed to squeeze a bit more from the original bid and ended up at £32m. 27yr old Tom Chambers leaves for Chinese club DL Yifang for £11.5m. Nearly half of his transfer goes to Man City. He definitely wasn’t getting game time and i would’ve been a lot happier if it wasn't for the 40% of profit clause. Still can’t believe i agreed to that when i bought him. PlayersBottaro is still the highest rating in the league with 8.21 in 19 games. Guilherme has now played for the German U21 squad and is also a wonderkid. Miller decided to be mates again and i was straight in there with a new contract that he was happy to sign, Other£1.01m for unallocated Champions League money. Improvements are still happening to the facilities. The ‘great’ youth facilities are getting upgraded once more and will cost £4m. Youth Intake NI Teams In EuropePortadown - Almost everything went to plan. The win over Lyon was what i hoped for but didn’t really think it would happen, and the 4-0 defeat was just shocking. I’ve no idea where that came from, but i do expect better from this team. Trabzonspordid us a favour beating Lyon, so then it was all about beating them once. Monaco are the team that await us in the 1st ko round. I’m optimistic about beating them, but i also realise that it depends on what mood the team is in sometimes. Glentoran - Finished 2nd behind Torino in their Europa League group. I hope they can squeeze out one more round. Institute - 2 wins and a draw were not enough to get out of their group in the Europa Conference League. They finished 3rd, one place higher than our Irish rivals, Cork City. The NCC is currently 7.000. We still have a fair bit to go. It will probably be a few seasons before we jump up a place. I think we need 3 consecutive seasons of this form and a bit more, if possible, to clear the 6.000 and 6.800 waiting for us. Clear those and i think we will move up to the next level and get the 2nd Champions League group stage spot. This should also see the Danske Bank Premiership move up.

I am always impressed anew by the patience it must require to build the league like this. To be looking three seasons ahead just to jump one more place...!

I am always impressed anew by the patience it must require to build the league like this. To be looking three seasons ahead just to jump one more place...! Thanks. There haven't been too many hiccups on the way up, so that always helps. I'm used to longterm saves with objectives. They always help me focus keeping my eye on the prize. If you think looking ahead is bad, what do you think when i say we have to win the league multiple times to get closer to the top 6 repped leagues. I probably won't see the league hit the top 4. I got the idea of this save from a fella on SI, he is about 16yrs ahead and on his 3rd club and he seems to have peaked at 6th or 7th for the league rep. At the minute we're sitting 9th. Year for year i seem to be doing better. The league is sitting 18th in his save. If there's any questions, let me know. I don't know if i'm explaining what people want to know about.

Portadown End of Season Update 2044/45 League Glentoran ruin what would’ve been an unbeaten season. Totally unexpected and totally uncalled for. I’m honestly not that bothered by it, just a little suprised that it happened. We have been operating with an understrength starting 11 for most of the season. There are usually a few players that i want to develop through game time and i had been able to do this all season. I think it has benefitted the squad given how many matches we played, including the cups (64+3x30mins ET). Jennings played in all but 3 of those matches and scored 80 goals. Bottaro is the only player to have been needing some rest. Another drop in the goals scored and a huge rise in the goals conceded. I’m assuming that this is down to Jenning not having a full-time partner and the defence was constantly understrength. Bertini did ok with 10 goals in 22 appearances and then Soria came in. He had a bit of difficulty with 3 goals in 8 games. I might just let him stay up front with Jennings next season. Fair play to the assisant manager for doing the domestic clean sweep. PlayersFrederik Bakke-Hanssen is now a wonderkid, Guilherme lost his wonderkid status. I’m being a lot less care-free with the player’s contracts. Usually i have been able to get a away with taking care of the contracts just before the January transfer window or even within 6 months of the contract ending, but just like with Gospodinov, it isn’t possible now. Jennings contract runs out at the end of next season so i’ll be taking care of it soon. I mentioned that Jenninngs scored 80goals, an amazing 57 of those goals were scored in the 37 league games he played in. He had a helping hand this year by scoring 18 of his 22 penalties. Other£994k for winning the league. £567k for playing in and wining the Irish Cup. We get £617k for Champions League tv revenue and £11.45m for Coefficient ranking pool money. We end the season with a cool £103m in the balance for the first time ever. No doubt that will go up in the summer. NI Teams In Europe Portadown - We did so well in getting this far and so unlucky in not going further. I thought our time in the Champions League was over before it had a chance to get started when we lost 3-0 to Monaco. Then the 2nd leg happened. Wow, is all i can think. We can beat teams like Monaco when we want to, but to do it so convincingly is brilliant. Everything clicked and we looked like scoring every time we attacked. It only took Monaco to score once to threaten the progress, but we made sure that didn’t matter with 2 very late goals. We beat RB Leipzig 2-0 at home yet i didn’t think we were through already. I had hoped that we could make them work for the and i supppose taking them to extra-time did that. I would say that the quality told in the end when all we had to do was hold on for another 7mins. I had actually forgot that we would go through on away goals as i was looking at the penalty attributes when they scored. It does give some comfort that we beat a team that made it to the Champions League final. Hopefully we can do the same soon. We get £8.01m for our appearance in the Champions League First ko. round and £9.04m for appearing in the Quarter Finals. Glentoran - I can’t complain how they did this year. They squeezed past Napoli in the First ko round of the Europa League winning on away goals, but Borussia Dortmund was a step too far. They kept it respectable losing 1-0 away and drawing 0-0 at home. Institute - 2 wins and a draw were not enough to get out of their group in the Europa Conference League. They finished 3rd, one place higher than our Irish rivals, Cork City. Looking at 45/46 is worrying me a great deal. So many questions in my head. Are we going to lose the Champions League spot that Glentoran always throw away? Is actually better in the short term that the likes of Glentoran and Institute play weaker teams to boost the coefficient? Time will tell.

Portadown Pre-Season Update 2045/46
Friendlies We played in what will probably be our last tour of Japan. Toriyama is gone and there is no special need to do it anymore. We would make profit on the individual games, but that’s hardly important these days. Transfers Soufane Meghfour moves to Wolfsburg for a fee of £33m (£18m up front, £15m/3 12 month installments) + 50% sell-on fee. He moved to Portadown 2 seasons ago for £6.5m and there was a £3m 50 league appearance clause too. I don’t have to pay that with him going. He made a total of 50 appearances in all competitions. Toriyama has been sold for £8.25m with £3.4m over 6 months. I’m happy to make any money from a 31yr old and it also means that we don’t have to pay the £12m for making 50 league appearances. Bart Heremans - I think i did well to sell him for £3.5m rising to £4.3m. He couldn’t get the TLC he needed and he was never going to be better than what i had. Alexandre Benoit* - He was definitely a panic buy. I was sure that i would lose Bottaro and i needed a better replacement than Beggs. Boyd Propper* - Not quite a panic buy, but definitely the best i could get for that price. Carles Candel - I think i bought him knowing i was losing Meghfour. Still got a bit of potential to go for a decent price. Desmond Aboagye* - I think i bought him a couple of years ago and he only arrives now. He'll do as back-up if i don't sell him. Nathan McKay* - I needed to start spending a bit more on quality players knowing i'll probably have to sell eventually. Bought him for £7.5m with £10m after 50 appearances. Mateo Royer* - Not sure what i was thinking with this transfer. £1.3m spent, maybe he'll work at back-up. Francis Salvador* - This was definitely when i was desperately searching for a RB. I bought him on the same day as Propper. I could've cancelled the transfer but i thought there's no harm in having another RB. Other
I should see this as a positive even through gritted teeth. Would’ve been nice to climb a place, hopefully next time. The NCC dropped to 9th from 7th. As far as qualifying places are concerned nothing has been changed. We can still afford a few more backward steps, but it changes the qualifying places starting point for us. There is a positive with our place in Europe - NI Teams In EuropePortadown - Even though we enter the Champions League as first seeds, the board changed their expectations from lat season’s reach the first round of the Champions League to be competitive. After getting the draw of Atletico Madrid, Rangers and Nurenburg, i can see why. I still expect to get 2nd, although 3rd wouldn’t be such a bad deal for the coefficient. I could manage a few more wins in the Europa League. Glentoran - They finally qualified for the group stage. After beating Red Star and Sporting Lisbon both 3-2 agg, they go on to play in the Champions League for a change. They face Basel, RB Leipzig and Liverpool. If Glentoran can hit 3rd and win a couple of matches in the Europa League i would be happy. Institute - They got a tough draw in the Europa League Playoffs and got beat by Groningen 5-0 agg. They go on to play in the Europa Conference League against Sturm Graz, Rio Ave and HJK. I would like to see them finish 2nd, i think they can do it. Cliftonville - They lost to Esbjerg 5-1 agg in the Europa Conference League Best Placed 4th qualifying round. I shouldn’t be too surprised with the result. Ballymena - They lost to Radnik on away goals in the Best Placed 2nd qualifying round. I ‘m a little disappointed, but not surprised. It’s good to see the usual 3 teams doing well, but to get the NCC going again i think we need 4 teams qualifying for group stages. I had thought of switching clubs again but decided against it because I haven’t done that much with Portadown. I really need to be winning or getting to the later stages of the Champions League before thinking of moving. There is also the building of a new team to try and get them to be one of the big clubs over here. This will take time and affect the qualifying places. So, it won’t happen anytime soon, if at all. The NCC is currently 2.300. We need another performance of a lifetime to soften the blow of losing the 13.750 we gained in season 40/41.

Portadown Mid-Season Update 2045/46 League I’ve no real reason to complain here. I was hoping we could reach either the half-season unbeaten and maybe reach the entire season. Sadly, Institute stunned us with a surprise defeat and Glentoran got the better of us at our own ground. I fully expect to win the league, have Glentoran 2nd with Institute 3rd. I’m not bothered who gets the 4th European spot, they’ll be rubbish anyway. I’m glad we have our shooting boots on again as well as being able to keep the ball out of the net. I’m still rotating players and this approach has led to 3 players coming to me for either more game time or go out on loan. I can’t really afford to lose any more players to loan deals, but they are good enough to get the time they want, so nobody is really causing bother. Fixtures*¦ Cups* OtherOur excellent youth facilities are getting upgraded again and it will cost £5.25m. I think i’m having the same problem with Portadown as i did with Glentoran. I was unable to upgrade the training facilities with Glentoran after a certain point and i think it is happening again. It’s possible that i won’t be ale to get the stadium unil the youth facilities are maxed out. Jennings is doing the impossible by scoring even more goals than this time last season. His tally so far this year in the league alone is 35 in 21 games. I had a look through the winners of the Golden Boot from the beginning and noticed that someone scored 66 goals in a season and another player has won it 5 times in a row. Neither of those records belong to Messi or Ronaldo. Maybe this is something to aim for. A couple of awards have been announced that my players have won. Van de Berg has won World U21 footballer of the Year award and Soria has won European Golden Boy award. TransfersIts been another one of those seasons. We have had to sell players that i didn’t really want to sell. Janicki has given us 6yrs of service and has got the dream move to Man Utd for £35.5m. Bodin was signed in 1 1/2 seasons ago for £1m and has been sold for £14m up front and another £10m after 50 league appearances. I turned down a bid for Van de Berg from Man Utd. They were offering £37m up front with £12m after appearances. I turned it down even though he really wanted to move. I asked what would it take to keep him here, he replied with build the team around me. It’s the first time i’ve seen that in the game. Man Utd also bid £66m for Kvile. I turned it down. Man Utd must really want my team, they’ve also bid for Jennings and Miller for £11m each. I can’t remember what Jennings said but Miller insisted on the promise of winning silverware. That shouldn’t be a problem. Bayern Munich keep offering bids around Barrios’ value. He isn’t bothered about moving to them, but they could at least try to make me think about accepting. This is the sort of bidding i was subjected to. There was only one transfer in and that was John Hill*. He is definitely needed as i don't have adequate back-up for Guilherme. As always, we can count on the eternal optimism from our youth intake pre-view NI Teams In Europe Portadown - Going into the 6th game we were sitting top. We only needed a draw in the previous game against Nurenburg and looked like we woud do better than that after going 2-0 insode 15mins. By the time HT came they already had equalised and scored 5mins into the restart. We had a few chances to make it 3-3, but it never happened. I knew they had to play Rangers and we had to play Atletico Madrid at home. It was certain that they would beat Rangers and i was fairly certain we wouldn’t beat Atletico Madrid. I had hoped for a draw and i think we deserved at least that. I am pretty miserable about this year’s campaign. We should be in the first ko round of the Champions League, not the Europa League. We now play Villareal and i am expecting to go through, mostly out of being annoyed at playing in the Europa League, but also i believe we are better than them. Overall, its been a pretty poor year and until the NI teams start winning, it won’t get any better. We need to improve again. I think we’re back in the position of hauling the league up the reps by doing the hard work while the likes of Glentoran try to figure out which way is up. We just need to up our game a little too. Glentoran - They couldn’t even finish 3rd ahead of Basel. They drew with them twice and fiished bottom, so no Europa League football this year. Institute - They didn’t make it out of their Europa Conference League group. They finished 4th with 4pts. I’m a little disappointed as i think they had a good chance of getting out of the group. Cliftonville - They lost to Esbjerg 5-1 agg in the Europa League 2nd qualifying round. Ballymena - They lost to Radnik on away goals in the Best Placed 4th qualifying round. I ‘m a little disappointed, but not surprised. The coefficient is not in a good place. 4.700. I'm really hoping now that we not only get past Villareal, but we try to get to the final. Some player contracts are now adding in winning the Europa League bonuses. Is this how the AI sees us now?

Portadown End of Season Update 2045/46
League I can't complain too much with this season's efforts. Miller was impressive between the sticks once again and the Strikers doing the business at the other end. Jennings toned down the goalscoring antics and scored 47 goals in the league, while Soria managed to score a decent 27 goals in 29 games. Benoit had a good season with 13 assists in 21 games. He is already attracting the vultures. Fixtures*¦ Cups*Spare a thought for Hannover in the cup. Other This is what i'm up against as far as transfers are concerned. I've believed for a while that Jennings is a £100m stiker. The player i've compared him to would need a transfer of £100m+ and Jennings is better. There isn’t much i can do with £140m in the bank. The players we can go for are no better than the ones we have and would require a much bigger fee than what i would get for my players. The elite and world class players are naturally out of our reach in all departments. I find it strange that we get more for winning the Mid-Ulster Cup £632k than the Irish Cup £567k. We get £394k for Champions League TV revenue and £12.4m from the coefficient ranking money. IntakeEric Burns* Cameron Johns* Shea McCullough* Keith Billing* Eric McMillan* Conor Connor* - I’ll admit it, i signed him for his name. Luis Medina* - I wasn’t going to sign him, but he’s Uruguayan and thought it might be worth a shot. NI Teams In EuropePortadown - Incredibly disappointed to have been knocked out of the Europa League in the 2nd ko round. We beat Villareal 2-1 away after drawing the first leg 1-1 in the 1st ko round. I always knew that Leeds would be a huge step up in quality of opposition, but to exit the competition after leading 4-1 is depressing. I nearly holidayed the rest of the league fixtures, but decided not to as i already holiday the domestic cup matches. The 2nd ko round of the Europa League was a bit of a freak show with regards to the teams playing in it. Barcelona, Man Utd, Tottenham, Leeds, Napoli, Valencia and Ajax, to name a few. Glentoran - Finished the group stage with a disappointing 4th place. Institute - They didn’t make it out of their Europa Conference League group. They finished 4th with 4pts. Cliftonville - They lost to Esbjerg 5-1 agg in the Europa League 2nd qualifying round. Ballymena - They lost to Radnik on away goals in the Best Placed 4th qualifying round. The NCC is now 5.700. I think we’re all but certain to lose the group stage spot and Glentoran will have more opportunities to blow their qualification for the Champions League.

Portadown Pre-Season Update 2046/47
Friendlies OtherApart from the transfer side of things, it has been a fairly quiet pre-season. We still can’t get any joy from the board for a new stadium even with £145m in the bank. As league reputation movement is concerned, no movement is good movement. The Danske Bank Premiership remains 9th for the 3rd consecutive season. As a club it is good to see us climb a little bit more. Transfers Jean Bienvenu* - His surname means ‘good bamboo flute’? I think he’ll be a good player and the main left-back in the future. He has played for the French youth team but could represent Cameroon if he wished. Wolfgang Marheineke* - There wasn’t much out there and had to make do with him. £3m up front with £3.5m after 50 league appearances. Adam Forsythe* - Normally i don’t go for players basen in Northern Ireland, but i couldn’t pass on a 17yr old even if he is from Glentoran. It will help with the home grown rules. Nicolás Campisi* - I think this is the biggest mistake i can remember ever making. Norwich made a terribly low offer for my GK, Miller. Naturally, he wants to go, but i’ve no intention letting him go for not only that low offer, but the fact i had no-one that would come close to covering him. As you can imagine he kicks up a stink. I said wait until i get a replacement then you can go. He is happy with that and i find someone i’ve had my eye on for a while - Campisi. If you haven’t figured out where this is going, keep reading. Campisi was available from Man City for a reduced price of £14m, i think he was valued at £24m. Normally i do half of that and the rest after 50 league appearance, but i needed him now. The next issue is i went against my internal disgust of offering players £100k+pw, he is on £110k...for the next 5yrs. In the end i get my player, so i expect this next stage to kick in, selling Miller. Nope. Nobody came for him even when i offered him out, nothing. Now i’ve got 2 excellent GKs on £150k between them. I consider myself £50m worse off. Hansen and Byrne were both full-backs that i really didn’t want to sell, but the bids were decent and they didn’t want to stay. It didn’t hurt us for too long. It is good to see Northern Irish clubs looking my players on loan, especially Insitute. Hopefully they can keep the fight for 2nd or 3rd place in the league. NI Teams In Europe Portadown - We jump straight into the group stage as 2nd seeds. The board wants us to be competitive but i think we can get first or second in a group of Schalke 04, Ajax, and Zenit. Glentoran - I’ll give them some credit, they got to the group stage for the 2nd year in a row. They had to put out Willem ll 3-2agg and Lokomotiv Moscow 1-1 pens. The downside is they are up against Liverpool, Rangers and Sevilla. I can only expect them to get 4th. Institute - They had to get past Legia Warszawa 3-2agg for the Europa League group stage. They will play FCSB, Lokomotiv Moscow and Basel. They won’t get out of this group alive. Dungannon - They managed to get past MilsamiOrhei 5-2 in the Europa Conferece League 2nd qualifying, but lost to Dundalk The NCC is 2.900. Hopefully we’ll do better this season. It's not Portadown that suffers with regards to progress in the Champions League, but it will hit the way other clubs see our players and i expect that to be seen when they bid for them.
