Which "Obscure" Counties have you managed in

Basically counties which are not in the game & are not heavyweights in global football. 

I've have had a save in the Comoros league in Football Manager 2017 with Djabal Club using the fantastic databases by Classen, Did well with them was the nations best team and never did much in African competitions. But i did get the Comoros job and i took them to the African Nations and did badly but it was an achievement 

Created the Lichtenstein league and managed in that (Decent league for amateur level)

Played in many, too many to remember. Spent one addition completing the hexagon challenge or whatever it was called - winning all the champions leagues.

I think my next game needs to be somewhere random.

Many, back when I was actively editing and making all sorts of leagues. It's been so long that I don't remember my favorites, but some of those league structures were bananas.

This is going to sound like hyperbole I know, but I've been playing the game long enough and used to be famous for my save hopping, that I can safely and confidently say that I have managed in every country that's available officially via the game, so every playable base league.

In terms of custom/edit files, if we agree that there's 195 countries in the world, I don't think it would be outrageous of me to suggest that I've played in around 100 of them, if not more. Some for less than a season, some for a couple of seasons maybe, but yeah...a lot.

Up until fairly recently, the wider FM community would have you believe that managing anywhere outside the top ten leagues in Europe was 'obscure'. It's only recently that we've seen people branching out and trying new things, it's the new 'hipster' way to play FM.

It was one of the things that kept me drawn to The Dugout and, in more recent times, the people we have on this forum. The Dugout was always good for saves that were outside of the 'norm' and thankfully we still have a few of those people around today.

I've had various saves around the world now, but not as many as most other people these days. I've been to Fiji in journeyman games, Saudi Arabia briefly, Ivory Coast, Canada. It really is something I'd encourage more people to do, myself included.

I definitely need to remake those Gulf state databases for FM21. Those were great fun.

I know I've managed New Zealand and the national team, but not at the same time. When managing the national team this was a part of a national team journeyman save. Started with New Zealand and then over to Uruguay. At some point I have also managed Morocco for the ACON and CHAN tournaments. I've managed clubs in Algeria as part of a challenge on TD. Anyone remember that? I think there was a Morocco one too.

Any chance we can get one started up?

I suddenly feel very unworldly! I think if I go through every save I've had in either FM or CM history, I have managed in: England, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Ukraine... and that's it.

Don't worry, I think you're still in the vast majority. I only have one irl mate that plays FM and he only ever manages in England, usually with West Ham over and over again, but he has been known to branch out to Chelsea, and I just despair at him. At least you've made your way around Europe.

For images Stout? I use imgur, it's free but you need an account. For big files like saves I'm using wetransfer, also free with account.

How did you manage to prove he had cheated? I certainly don't remember that part haha. And the cheat was proved once he won the championship, or during it?

He fucked up. He used FMRTE to wreck the AI players and destroy all their attributes and didn't cover his tracks. The hatchet job he did on Pepe was amazing. Bloke wasn't even a non-league defender. That was the easy one. There was another one that we couldn't prove.

Everyone always knew he was cheating, but at that time in FM's life you never wanted to believe it and always wanted to see the best in people, especially on The Dugout.

The difference between someone like Indoctrin and someone like Forza (Lee Scott), who was/is insanely good at the game, was that Lee could always explain his tactical systems when you asked. He'd produce guides etc. to back up the good results he usually achieved. Indoctrin would just cough and splutter some bollocks about good team cohesion and good morale and not give you an answer. It was just nearly impossible to prove it, which is half the reason we introduced The Dugout Championship in the first place.

To be honest, it's mainly because I used to only ever play as Forest (up until about FM10) and then I tend to get one save that really sticks. So I have an FMC15 save with FC Volendam in which I have played something like 28 seasons (and I still pick it up from time to time and whizz through another half season or so), and it has taken me four years to do so. I'm eleven seasons deep into a FMT17 save with Trapani after a save of about 10 seasons with GAIS in Sweden corrupted. I get too fond of the club and I'm OKish enough at the game to avoid the sack (generally - it remains to be seen if that will hold true on FM20!) so I never end up looking for a new club. I only play for about four or five hours a week so progress is always slow.

I know that Indoctrin used to use FMRTE all the time. He was caught at least once for cheating in the challenges and he'd always come up with shit when we used to have our little steam chat group. He'd always find players in the arsehole of nowhere that were absolute worldbeaters. It was always from Bolivia, or from Saprissa in Costa Rica and they were always incredible.  

@nick and mrcool because I can't multiquote... going back to what Nick said about his mate only playing in England, my best mate is exactly the same. He's the only irl person I know that plays the game (although not much anymore) and he'll only ever manage in England, despite being a Celtic fan. Anything remotely outside of England is too obscure for him.

I remember playing one but not the one where he cheated, can't really remember what the challenges were but I also got accused of cheating for having the game save every fortnight which is the way I have always played. People can play the game how they want, just be up front about it.
