For me it will be a small team in the same city as a giant
1860 Munich would be ideal for example

If I get it, probably Forest. I haven't had a save with them in a long time and their recruitment has been pants for years so there is quite a satisfying squad overhaul just begging to be done.

I've got quite a few ideas in mind but, my first save will be with Burnley. I will also have a save as Melbourne Victory and a team in Scotland (either Elgin City or Partick Thistle)

I decided I'mma buy FM 21 right away and not wait until next year like I did with FM 20. My current '20 save is at the end stage of its course and I'll play the last couple of seasons probably during the beta stage of FM 21 (which I'm not bothered at all, as I normally need the editor before I start a new save and that's released on the 24th, alongside the full game).
I'm not really sure on what I'll play right off the bat. I've toyed with doing a repeat of my current FM 20 save, this is taking a smaller club in a bigger european league and play a youth development save, putting restrictions on buying players and limiting new players to spend at least a year in the "B" and/or U-19 teams before being promoted in the senior squad. France or Italy are good shouts as I haven't played there in a while.
Another idea is going back to my classic Chile and La U C&C. This didn't work in FM 20 as the newgens where super disappointing, so I might fiddle with the editor before this to try and improve Chile's youth rating or something along that way to make the save more enjoyable (yes, it's cheating, I know).
Finally, I'm super tempted to start a proper journeyman, starting unemployed with little to no reputation and just try to build from the ground up. I'll probably keep it European, and load a big bunch of countries to try and progress. I've also got an idea to try and make this kinda of old save idea, a bit fresher. Starting with a 100% fictional database, un-checking the "Use Real Players" checkbox in the save creation menu.

I'm super excited to play as PSV, but I might postpone it to the actual release and play around with a team like Arsenal or Manchester United first. Another idea I have in mind is to base my recruitment on data analysis and scout reports. This topic inspired me for this. It would mean I'd probably try to find a way to mask attributes, and then decide who to buy based on data analysis and my scouts' recommendations. I want to learn a bit of R, so this would go hand in hand.

But surely might use it when looking for a key role in the transfer market from now on. When looking for THAT player who'll make or break your team this might be a good way of filtering through thousands of players, including some obscure reputation guys.

I may not be patient enough too haha, but this is something I may find out then. The feasibility of this will also depend on whether the save won't get too slow, as I think you have to simulate all competitions in full detail in order for performance data to be useful (I think). Probably it would also be better to holiday a few years so there is data to base recruitment on, and to limit the temptation to just buy players that you know are good. I'm not entirely sure if it will be possible to do this properly, but I'm eager to find out.

I don't think a little tweaking in the editor is all that bad as 'cheating' goes, especially when (in your example) you're still subject to the randomness of the game in producing good youngsters etc.
I must admit I am tempted to have another go at my Marina di Ragusa save, with a few tweaks in the editor to give the club a bit of a helping hand just to kick-start things (and I'm just thinking about upping the typical attendance rather than making them billionaires). Apologies for dragging it back to my save and FM20!

Newcastle for the BETA, think I'll be Palermo for the main save once Serie D add on becomes available.
Interesting back story for sure.

I never bought FM20, first edition I've skipped, but I continued playing FM19 to ridiculous levels.
My plan is to pick up FM21 and return here with a new save <your game> in a couple of weeks or so beyond Beta.

I've finally settled on a long-term save idea. I will play either as UD Melilla or as Ceuta (leaning towards the first as their kits are more fun to make and innovate). Both teams are Spanish teams on an spanish city inserted on Moroccan territory. The save idea will be that aside from newgens (which I think will be Spaniards), I'm only going to be able to sign African players, either first or second nationality (regardless if they decide to represent their other nationality, for instance a Ghanian/English player who plays for England is elegible). The idea will be to form an All-African team (with the exception of some newgens, while they could be african as well hopefully) to try and dominate Europe.
I will need a lot of African leagues activated though as I'd like to have a ton of newgens. So I think I'll start with a classic Chile/La U C&C, while I recollect all the neccesary files after Tuesday's release.

So as you already know my first save is the redemption story and after that i am likely to do a non-league save probably with Dorking Wanderers which is the team nearest to me and i think my third save will be a club and country as it has been far too long since i have done one

possibly because I oprefered the kits of Ceuta, and Ceuta dissolved few years back, i know they rebooted. of the two locations, if I was to be a generic tourist, Melillalooks more interesting than Ceuta.

So I'm thinking I might end up in Brazil tomorrow night after work. I've been reading a decent bit about Brazilian football over the last day or two and it's becoming more and more tempting, despite the insane amount of matches you'll play across a successful season.
I had started, and currently playing a save with Sparta Prague, they've not won the league in about 7 years so figured it'd be a bit of a challenge...we're 11 points clear with 11 to play, we've lost two games this season and we only went out of the EL in the Knockouts thanks to a 85th minute Leicester goal and 18 year old Adam Hlozek has 26 goals already...so this save might not have the long term legs I thought it would.

Do you go Serie C or B or one of the bigger clubs?

I still don't know if I'll pick up the game right off tomorrow. I'm at the start of the last season of my FM 20 save and if I play 21, I won't finish it. So, speeding through the save in order to start my first FM 21 save which I still haven't decided yet (as the Africans in Spain save won't be started until African leagues are released by @timo@, Mozza or qwert2 or whoever does them by now haha.

Do you go Serie C or B or one of the bigger clubs? The obvious cliche save will be going Cruziero now that they've been relegated or Chapecoense. I should probably go a Serie A team because I'm really not that good...but I've very tempted by Manaus in Serie C. They've only just been promoted from Serie D, and I'm fascinated by the Amazonas state region, the Piraha tribe and culture and that state has never been represented at a high level, so it's something that I'm definitely interested in

Just updated my game but won't be starting a save until someone creates the rest of the South American leagues. In the meantime, I need to sort out name fixes and the German national team etc. as well as logos etc. Got that new version feeling.

Almost all my game ideas need editor files - Portuguesa only play in the Carioca Leagues, and are no longer in the national Brazilian leagues; Südtirol developing local talent needs the Italian lower leagues to have feeder teams.

Yeah, I hadn't even thought about that @nick, there's probably little point in me starting Brazil until other leagues are out, but that shouldn't take long. Same Reiver I had a list of ideas that all need editor files and I was going to try and do some ideas myself, but we'll see. Between work and enjoying other games, I'm not sure what time i'll have for the editor this year.
