Braintree Town is a semi-professional football club based in Braintree, Essex. They are currently members of the Vanarama National League South, a competition they won as recently as 2011. Last year Braintree, who are nicknamed The Iron were almost relegated into the non-leagues. Interestingly they are currently in the same division as arch-rivals: Chelmsford City. First Team As you can tell the First Team is very small. We only have 17 players, 3 of them being Goalkeepers, leaving us with 16 players in the first team. Hayden West our third choice Goalkeeper is still in the reserves. Injuries will really mess up our season, so fingers crossed - that doesn't happen. Best Player Sadly I may only have Alfie Payne for the first season as he's refusing to sign a new contract as he doesn't think the club matches his ambition. If we don't get promoted this year, and we are predicted 14th and board wants us to avoid a relegation fight, we will most likely lose him. As you can tell by his stats he is brilliant for this level and is understandably rated at 5 stars. He finished pre season with 9 assists in 7 games. Pre-Season results All-In-All a very good pre-season. We started of with a defeat to Maidenhead who are in the League above us before drawing with non-league Hornchurch, after that I decided to change 1 role in my tactic, instead of playing a Box-to-Box midfielder next to a DLP (s) I went for a CM (s) and after that we won 4 matches in a row without conceding a goal. The highlight being our 6-0 win against Tamworth with Romario Dunne scoring 4. My first competitive match will be in the FA Cup qualifying rounds against Wingate and Finchley, a strong non-league team. Next update will be a mid-season report. Thanks for reading!

Good luck! I'd love to see someone build Braintree up to the very top. It's been on my list of saves to attempt, but I've never quite found the courage.
Also, if my eyes don't deceive me, it looks like we have another Touch player in the house!

My almost 10 year old laptop can't handle the full version of FM so it's touch for me! jawzy - He spent a lot of years playing for Ebbsfleet and also played for Millwall.

I'm playing FM20 at the moment, but when I park this save I will be switching back to FMT. Progress is just too slow in full FM for me and I've delegated almost all the tasks to other staff which aren't in the Touch version, so I'm basically playing Touch plus teamtalks right not.
