The Claret City I speak of is home to Chelmsford City FC - a fairly large city yet to make an imprint on the footballing world with a population of 112,000 with 168,000 within the district area
The club has been a mainstay within the 6th tier of English football since 98/09 mainly finishing in the top half and the playoff zones, but has yet to get lucky and pushed on from this good finishes.
The honours list does show this has been a successful non league side
The facilities are okay for this level and in real life the stadium is an athletics stadium, so hopefully in game if there is success I wouyld like to hope we can move away from this tiny stadium
We have an u18 squad, but with low youth facilities and rating, I dont expect there to be to many prospects, we do not have an u23 squad so this should reduce costs on the staff and players front.
The squad does not have alot of depth, but there are a few gems spotted about,
Liddle looking like our best asset and player at the club
The board are hoping for another strong playoffs finish to this season With the eventual plan on being promoted to the National Vanerama
finances wise we have 70k in the balance but nothing to spend and very little wiggle room in wages.
We will be looking to move on a few of the fringe players on 200 - 400 pounds a week either on loan or preferbly on a transfer. Hopefully we can get some semi decent youngsters on free under 100 quid a week to add some cheaper depth to the side.
Also will look at Ipswich and Colchesters u23 and u18 squads for some potential loanees.

Good luck! Something that has helped me a lot was the message you get the 31st of March or 1st of April stating some player contracts of top teams that are going to run out. I've snapped up several good players there on a free.

What I don't like (for Chelmsford) is his weak physicality. He can play. a tad, but his athletic mobility is very poor. Try for Tommy Smith or maybe Brett McGavin?

I got the feeling that Scandinavia, and particularly Norway was the place to manage on this version, but it looks like East Anglia is actually the destination of choice on here! Another one I shall follow with interest.

End of season: League: We were looking good for the expected finish of a playoff spot, but in the last 10 games we just crumbled epically resulting in a mid table finish, the board are not happy with this, but I dont seem to of been sacked as a result! The stuttering start and those last 10 games, defiantly cost us the playoffs. FA Cup: We got some easier ties all way to the third round, with Salford being the hardest side we faced en route to the third round. Wa happy to score two goals at Stamford Bridge where they had a fairly strong side out vs Chelsea stats FATrophy This cup would always be a tough one to get to the advanced stages with alot of former football league sides expecting to be tough to play against, was very happy to get to the semis
Transfers - I wont really go into much detail due to the nature of lower leagues and the high turn over of players. We didnt spend any money but amassed 14k on transfers out Squad/stats Was super happy to see our two strikers bagging alot of goals between them with young Moss from midfield also contributing a fair share. With alot of the players here refusing to sign new deals or demanding more than we can afford, we may lose some of our best performers, Liddel and Kpekewa being the big two I fear this will happen to
Finances: As a result of the cup run we managed to get our finances to just shy of 900k, Me and the board decided to reinvest the money back into the club into our training facilities.

The first team after the summer dealings We managed to retain Liddle and Moss along with a few of the other lads. Agbontoma replaces cole and looks to be a very good young replacemebt our u18s squad is a mix of non contract back up players and youth

The amount of goals you've conceded is a good sign. Some solidity about Chelmsford.

End of Season. After last seasons collapse, I was hopeful that we could atleast make the playoffs, but come end of Jan. we looked like we might be able to win the league. And for the most part of the season we were in the top 2 positions! FA Cup A better than last season cup run, the result vs Doncaster was the most suprising in the run, I was sure that was gonna be as far as we would go! FATrophy I decided to not try to win this or get to the final this time and try to focus on the league Squad The new look central defense partnership looked great this season, certainly made Fordes job easier inbetween the sticks! Liddle spent half season out with an injury, and as a result I found goals pretty came from alot of strikers and wingers this season. On the topic of Liddle, he wont renew contract, so I fear I will be losing on a free. Some of the others that refused to renew or was demanding to much are O Sullivan and Maloney, im lucky to be getting a small fee and a small cut on any future fees. Transfers Once again alot of in and out because of our level, but we did sell two players for money We also spent 1.5k on a full back from Poole called Lion Bello Finances Thanks again to a good cup run, we sitting at aprox 800k, I wont be reinvesting into facilties this season We are getting a small investment in terms of money to our stadium. considering my options when asking the board are "Build new stadium or buy stadium" I was very suprised to see this message come through

Squad for the coming season im pretty set on who my starting goalkeeper and defence are going to be, but as for the midfield/wingers/strikers, with the versitiity and players I got im not 100% sure what combination will work the best even after pre season and the u18s / non contract players that could be called upon over the coming season Liburd and Blisset are both here as different options, as both are very tall target man type players both 6 foot 5 inches or more. Could Diamond, be the diamond of a player.
The board are expecting attempt to avoid relegation, while the media have predicted us to finish 5th.

What a result, into the 4th round we go!
4th round, and we not the lowest ranked team left in, but the two lowest sides having the elite sides turn up at small stadiums
in third round Arsenal was away at Wioking and played a very weak squad, Arsenal won 2-0 though

The FA Cup is such an amazing boost for your finances! An away game at Arsenal would have been even better.

We started the season very slowly, but slowly grew into the levels expected to hover around mid table, but as we started to pick points up we found alot of form at the business end of the season and started to look like we could get into the playoffs. Our good form continued into the playoffs eventually securing a win v Orient at Wembley infront of 38,000 Both Cups We shocked everyone by gettiong a result away at Cardiff who at the time were a mid table Championship side The signing of Isted meant that Forde became unhappy and eventually left. but we didnt need a backup keeper in the end The defender Spencer Adams wanted to move but he went out on loan so Rob Jones of Millwall came in and for an 18 year old dis a very good job My various striking otions oon dawned on me were not gonna cut in this league so the Loan of Smith from Peternorough was a godsend for the success in the league this season. Zach Clough, ended up being nothing overly special or exciting Our finances currently sit at 1.6m, hoping now we enter the football league we can turn pro. Our average attendemce this season has only been 1396, which would make us smaller than Harrogate averaghe attendence of 1900 in L2, who have finished 22nd, 21st and 11th in there respective seasons in the football league. We have also replaced Stevenage as our parent club, with West Ham who finished top of the championship, so hopefully some of the decent youngsters they produce will come in and do a job if they are interested.

Squad for the debut football league season
Nick Powell is a underperforming of recent seasons prime aged player. with a nice value attached signed on a free, so if he does a Zach and doesnt do a job I might be able to sell for a tidy profit. Zach on otherhand is going to float about the club most likely Also Jack Colback is in as a expirenced head for this young side
Season Preview has us in 21st for this season
Biggest sides in the division are: Wigan, Bradford, Bolton

3 promotions in a row!, we didnt look like we were gonna be struggling at all from the off Our cup runs compared to recent seasons, were very poor! Eagle eyed among you will notice a lack of Nick Powell and Zach Clough, Powell was also under performing and has gone out loan to Halifax, Clough on other hand left club to go on a non contract to Dorking, what a demise! Also we did have a player in on loan till january who while at us scored 6 goals but recalled by Bristol City in Jan, not lot of goals scored in total but goals came from all over the field Also Josh Harrop was signed on a free, but he gets injured every other game, so I will probably try to move on, and stay away from these 28 year olds that once had a semi name Powell, Clough and Harrop. Also Hudlin was a signing in Jan for 13k, been using large target men parts of the seasons recently at 6 foot 9, defo one of the tallest players when he plays! We are also spending 1.8m to upgrade our training again We had some fees out this season Some of the foriegn names such as Vitek were not gonna get a work permit so ended up selling.
