Tennis Borussia Berlin2030-31 Pre-Season Report
OverviewLet's see if I can get to posting more often, shorter updates. After winning our first piece of relevant silverware in the form of the 2029/30 Bundesliga I felt that in order to keep competing at a high level, we needed a big makeover. This might sound counter intuitive, as we've just managed to win a big title against big rivals, but I believe we were a bit lucky in it. We struggled against big teams, big time, and had they not had an irregular season, we wouldn't have won the title, in fact the 67 points that secured us the title would have been good enough for a title only two other times (and both times by a single point) in the 12 years this save has been running. So yeah, I think we needed an upgrade and risking it all, I went for it.TransfersSo, all-in right? The Board granted us a decent yet not that awesome €35M budget as we're still a struggling club economically, losing money on a monthly basis and living through player sales and prize money. I identified we needed an improvement in around 4 key positions, RB, CB, CM and ST, while also wanting to add potential and depth to the bench. On the rest starting positions I was fairly happy, with a strong backbone of Niklas Bönig, Ricardo Carmona, Everton, Gabriel Urquiza, Jan Kaplan, Göksel Turkmen, Emerson Lima and Carlos Preciado. So I went out and tested the market for a few of our former starters. César Lopez went to PSV, for €8M, and Facundo Pereyra to Racing for €725k on window opening day. Marcin Dziadulewicz went to Huddersfield for €9M, while Mehmet Yildirim to Başakşehir FK, for €8.25M (a massive undercut as I believed I'd get around €20M for each of them), Tim Allerbeck was sold to Loko Moscow, for €16.75M, while Christian Gheorghe left for Levante for €6.25M.Those were the players I wanted to sell, plus a few other smaller deals. But then again, Schalke came in with a good offer for Emerson Lima and they took him for €29M, while Wolfsburg did the same with Éverton, landing him for €14.75M. I didn't really want to sell them, but the money was good, their contracts were big for their compared quality and I figured we could get better replacements. We broke a few records, as the Emerson deal was the most expensive sale we've had and the €93M transfer income also was the highest ever. So, we had to fill those spots, right? Six players came in at the window opening day. After thorough scouting and research we managed to get loads of potential, and a lot of right-now quality as well. Fábio is a terrific Brazilian CB who was inexplicably still playing in his home country, a meagre €12.75M were enough to activate his minimum release fee clause and get him to Berlin, following him was his teammate and wonderkid Gilsinei again activating a MRF clause of just €10.75M, both of them are expected to be starters and key players. Vaclav Polak will most surely be Fabio's partner on the defensive line, as we got him off Jablonec, for €5.25M. Following a trend of Chilean players, we poached Juan Vásquez from La U for €3.7M, he'll fight for the starting job with Tadej Pihler. Dutch wonderkid Fons Steijn was bought from Utrecht for €8.25M and will take over Dziadulewicz at the middle of the pitch. Finally, also arriving on window opening day was another Chilean, Johnny Suárez a national team regular at 20 from Colo Colo, for €2.5M.After Emerson and Everton left, I had to fill two other positions, a backup striker (as Gilsinei will take the starting job from Emerson), and Martin Benkovsky was available from Werder Bremen, for €6.25, he's versatile and boasts enough ability to be a good backup, his salary is a bit high and doesn't have much potential, but he's homegrown. Finally, for the DM position, we managed to secure a long-time target for me, Thierry Bachelet came in from Leverkusen, for €12.25M a terrific coup of a transfer if you ask me. Bachelet is a true defensive minded DM, who'll boost our defensive performance. The other first teamer that arrived was french-brazilian Raul Rodrigo from Monaco, for €155k. He'll be the fourth striker and play mostly for the U-23 side.TacticsHere's where we'll get our stability, as I won't change much, only tailoring a few things for individual new roles. Bachelet is a much more defensive minded DM than Everton, and when I devised this tactic I always thought of playing with a half back who would stick himself between the centre backs and build play from behind. This has worked wonderfully and when we attack it looks like a 3-4-1-2 shape, while we're defending it looks like the 4-4-2 diamond narrow. One of the issues with Gilsinei's contract is that I was stuck at playing him in his favourite role which is pressing forward. I'd prefer him playing as a complete forward, but it was rather that or losing a wonderkid, sometimes you gotta cede to the whims of an individual. The projected starting 11 looks like this:Pre-SeasonWe had a brilliant pre-season. I arranged a US tour to play some California based teams. The LAFC result was a harder pill to swallow, but we dominated all games stats-wise. After that, 3 tougher European games, and with our full squad we aced them. The Atletico game was a marvel, and despite thinking it might have been a fluke left me super happy. We opened the season with the Supercup, unfortunately losing on penalties after a last minute goal to equalise. It was a tight game and we played good. The Cup first round was a walkoff after 3 goals in the first half, the second was pretty much a sleepfest.Forecast and Future- We've got finally a lot of cash, somewhere around €140M in the bank account. - The Stadium has been finally upgraded and we'll move on to it during Septmeber. It's a 21k all seater, so we'll still be playing our home Continental matches on another stadium. This time it'll be 67k Olympiastadion, here's hoping we'll get a ton of ticket money! - We're again upgrading all facilities, which is amazing. - The squad is young and we're lacking in several mental areas, mainly influence and leadership. I know it's a risk what we did, but I'm happy with the quality leap. Here's hoping we can overcome those two issues.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2030-31 Midseason Report
OverviewI promised I'd bring shorter updates. Well this is a midseason update for the 2030-31 season. After a ton of changes in personnel including several of the key players in the Bundesliga coup from last season, but in return bringing maybe the best players quality-wise I've had in this save. It was a good first half of the year, with our first foray into the Champions League and the Bundesliga title defense.Transfers I didn't plan on doing any transfers in the winter window, but Stuttgart enquired for Tadej Pihler, our backup RB, and I totally fleeced them, selling him for a team record €35M, I'm really at a loss on how much they paid for him. I went onto the market to try and search for a replacement, and ended up getting Breyder Vergara, the Colombian NT starting RB, who was on the transfer list on Marseille for €5.75M. Vergara will push our current starter Juan Vásquez for the starting role and the best man will play.BundesligaOur first match was against Bayern at home and we were totally outplayed by them, losing 1-3. We then had a great 6 game unbeaten run, including 5 wins, only to be stopped by a 3 game run without wins, including 2 losses. After that we hit the ground running with anothet good 6 game unbeaten run with 5 wins on it.
Another tight race seemingly this season.UEFA Champions LeagueIn our first UCL, we were handed a relatively easy group, with Atalanta, Red Bull Salzburg and Lyon. We managed to dominate the group, getting 16 points out of 18 possible. We played our best football of the season in this competition and I was super happy to see it. Even playing with a full rotated side in the last game, we managed to win it.
The Knockouts will see us face Benfica in what was the easiest of the draws we could've had. DFB-PokalAnother short-lived cup run as we lost in the second round against Hoffenheim.Players and PerformancesWe played good football at times, only struggling in a few games, against bigger sides. Carlos Preciado was by far our best player scoring 11 goals and also leading the team with 13 assists and a 7.18 rating. Newcomers Fabio and Polak were strong in the back and also among our best players, while wonderkid Gilsinei scored 9 goals and added 5 assists. We struggled a bit with teamwork and tactical familiarity, so I only hope we'll become better in the future.
Forecast and Future - Great financial status at last, with €156M in the bank. - We finally moved into our new stadium, the Jürgen Schultz park. We already asked for an expansion and The Board agreed to it, adding around 7k more seats by October next season, meaning it'll be a 28k all seater.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2030-31 Season Report
OverviewThe first half of the season was pretty interesting, acing our first UEFA Champions League Group, getting a decent knockouts draw and amongst the fight for the Bundesliga. The only downside was losing our first shot at the DFL-Supercup and also an early exit on the DFB-Pokal.BundesligaAgain, we kicked off the semester losing against Bayern, this time 0-2 at home. We then managed to get a 6-game unbeaten run with 5 wins, but then March was a pretty bad month, as we lost against title contenders HSV, then had two draws against Dortmund and Leverkusen. As we slipped down to 3rd position, HSV and Dortmund gained an advantage over us in the table. April was pretty good, with 3 wins, and we managed to shrink the distance to the top two. With 3 games to go, HSV led the table tied in points with Dortmund, while we sat in 3rd place two points behind. We managed to only win one of our last three games and in the end couldn't defend our title, ending up the season in 3rd place, with 65 points.
Tough race in the end, not as tight as last season, but still. Bayern finishing 7th was quite a surprise, but Dortmund at last managed to keep things together and fight for the titleUEFA Champions LeagueAfter winning our group, Benfica was the lucky draw for the Knockout Round. We went to Portugal super confident, but fell down 0-2 quickly and after that 1-3. We fought and pushed forward, eventually tying the game with a last minute goal from wonderkid Carlos Preciado. In Berlin, our first European game played at our new stadium, it was a good game where we never struggled, winning 2-0 with a brace from Preciado.
In the Quarter-Final, we had to face Tottenham, a juggernaut on this save winning the Premier League in 2028-29 and the Champions League in 2029-30. The first leg was played in Berlin and despite playing well, we ended up losing the game 0-1. In London though, we suffered intense pressure, but an early goal from Fabio gave us hope. They tied the game shortly after the second half started and I feared the game was over. But Gilsinei had a trick up his sleeve and managed to put us ahead 2-1 at '63. After a tense half an our, we were through into the Semifinals, on away goals.
Liverpool was our rival in the Semis, another English giant, they had won a PL/UCL double back in 2027-28 and the Europa League in 2028-29. The first leg was played at Liverpool and we dominated the game, pushing them down their area, but in two lightning quick counter attacks they punished our feble defence and won the game 0-2. It was a tough result, as conceding a goal in Berlin meant the tie was over. We kept our strong play at home, but couldn't get a goal in the first half. Colombians Carlos Preciado and Breyder Vergara, at 52' and 61' gave us a two goal lead and an aggregate draw. We had two shots hit the crossbar after that, but in the end the game went onto Extra Time and eventually to Penalties. There, we kept our cool, beating them 5-3 to advance to our first Continental Final.
After a two week gap from the end of the Bundesliga and the UCL Final, we had to face Monaco at Puskás Ferenc Stadion in Budapest, Hungary. Unfortunately we were ran over by Monaco, and we never really had a chance in the club's most important game in history. An insultive 0-4 defeat ended our first UEFA Champions League run.
All-in-all obviously a tremendous run. Such a shame to have it ended with a dreadful performance.DFB-PokalAnother short-lived cup run as we lost in the second round against Hoffenheim.Players and PerformancesIt wasn't a great year performance-wise. We struggled a lot with team cohesion and tactical familiarity due to the amount of personnel changes in the summer. The second semester was better, but overall wasn't that great. There are a few things to take into consideration, personnel wise and tactically to improve. I'm again tempted to try a more direct approach, after the possession tactic we currently have in place failed to keep the ball much (we averaged 49% possession in the Bundesliga and 52% in the UCL). Wonderkids Carlos Preciado and Gilsinei were our top two players, with the Colombian getting 21 goals and 18 assists, while the Brazilian had 20 goals and 9 assists. Centre backs Fabio and Vaclav Polak also had good seasons ratings-wise, but we gave up too many goals in all levels.
Forecast and Future - The terrific run in the UCL plus a great league position means we're now a rich club, with €290M in the bank. - Our newfound European status brought up a new shirt sponsor, doubling our last contract, we went from €2.6M a season to €5.25M a season. - The Board ended up scratching the proposed expansion to the stadium, only to re purpose it into an almost 11k expansion to be finished in July 2032. This season, we'll play in 75k all-seater Berliner Olympiastadion. We'll also improve again the Training and Youth Facilities, to be finished in November 2031.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2031-32 Pre-Season Report
OverviewAfter failing to defend our hard-earned Bundesliga but also getting to the UEFA Champions League Final, the plan was to upgrade a few key positions and keep most of the squad that was pretty much overhauled last season. Well... That didn't work out as a few big teams came knocking for some of our players and that forced me a bit into wheeling and dealing (which is quickly becoming my style apparently), and thus, finding a lot of talents willing to play for us, which meant another squad overhaul and a record spendoing spree, which sees us top the league in net transfer spend.TransfersWell, The Board was kind enough to grant us over €150M to spend, so I figured we didn't need to try and oversell our current players, because I'd rather sell them quickly. So, as I said Stoke came knocking for Niklas Bönig, our starting GK for 18 months now. I didn't want to sell him, but €35M forced my hand a bit and he was quickly sold. Mexican Ricardo Carmona also left, as he stagnated a bit regarding his ability and also hada few horrible games last season, he went to Norwich for €10.25M. Team leader Gabriel Urquiza started out in the first 11 last season, but lost his position before the winter break, he was sold to Dortmund for €5.5M. Another of our former leading players left as Göksel Türkmen went on to Beşiktaş for €16.25M, this was one of the positions I wanted to address as Türkmen lived out his era and we needed more quality. Finally a few other former senior squad members left permanently in the looks of Vittorio Constantino, Thierry Moukam, Martin Lazarov and Martin Benkovsky. We also loaned out several high potential players who had been on the senior squad last season, Fernando Israel, Leon Bakalorz, Donato Miggiano, Davy Ernst and Tuto. So, armed with a treasure chest worth of money, I went on to bring the highest amount of new players onto the team. Using extensive manual scouting, I managed to find a few gems for some great prices in the positions of need, a starting GK, a starting LB, a competing CB, a competing CM, a starting AM and also depth and youth at CB, LB, DM, CM, AM and ST. While trying to find a starting keeper, I ended up bringing two players, because the more talented one has a bit of an injury history, from Chivas came in Máximo Bejarano for €9M, while Jairo López came from Dínamo for €3.6M. During the history of this save, I've had tons of problems with the LB position, and this year wasn't different as I think I ended up overpaying Leverkusen for Burak Şahin, in a record transfer fee €29.5M, while his backup ended up being Tim Bechtold from Hoffenheim II for €3M. At least both are Germans and help with homegrown status. With the centre backs, I also found a couple of brilliant players and coouldn't resist getting them both, Corinthians sold us Ricardinho for €12.25M while Philadelphia Union sold us Sebastián Rodríguez for €5.75M. We've now got 4 terrific CB's a ton of depth. In the middle of the pitch, again I resorted to the trusty Brazilians and their "low" release fees, getting Santos' Guilherme for €12.75M, while for the AM position Flamengo's Nivaldo might have been the coup of the century at €15.25M. Other minor deals for depth and youth were Sandro Zizmond from Olimpija for €600k, Bernard Stohr from Bayern for €9M, Badara Diallo from Liverpool for €8M and Tihomir Livakovic from Dinamo for €3.9M, plus a few other players who won't make the senior squad cut.
The €127M spent almost doubles our former record spending. And the net spend was the highest of all Bundesliga teams. TacticsI made a few tweaks to the tactic we've been using in the past few years. Last season we didn't keep the ball as well as we had and that meant in the end that we conceded a lot of goals. To try and counter that, I decided to play a bit more directly although nothing drastic, and also keep the fullbacks a bit more in check, sacrificing firepower for defensive strengthThe projected starting 11 looks like this:Pre-SeasonThe pre-season was absolutely excellent as we smashed all the games, only conceding 1 goal in 7, while scoring 26. A decent East Coast USA tour, followed by 3 tough games, against Feyenoord, at Barcelona and against Vasco. No Supercup opener this season, hopefully we play it next year!Forecast and Future- After the summer spending spree, finances look good, though not as great as in May. We have €150M in the bank. - We'll be playing all season in the home of our rivals (rented home, though), Berliner Olympiastadion, as we're renovating our stadium and it'll be done in June next year. - We're again upgrading all facilities, but no news on the recruitment and coaching. - We've been handed a nightmare UEFA Champions League group, alongside Real Madrid, Inter and FC Midtjylland. I think we can get through, but ending up third and getting into the UEL isn't thaaaat bad, considering.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2031-32 Midseason Report
OverviewAfter the crazy spending spree of the summer, I was super eager to kick off the season, as I felt we had a competitive squad, backed by the amazing pre-season performance we had. We were handed a tough UCL group, but I was confident about our chances.Transfers No movement in the winter window. There was a bit of an interest for a few of our main players, Preciado (Arsenal and PSG), Gilsinei (PSG), Fabio (Liverpool) and Bachelet (Real Sociedad). No offers were made though.BundesligaWe carried on in the same fashion as the pre-season, not conceding a single goal until the 7th game. The six clean sheets meant 5 wins and a 0-0 draw against Bayern at home. Our first conceded goal ended up in a defeat, as Nürnberg managed to keep our strikers from scoring in a bad game for us. We followed it with a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim and a 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg at Wolkswagen Arena. The clean sheets came back in November, with 3-0 and 1-0 wins over Gladbach and Werder Bremen, before we had a 1-1 draw against Köln and a 1-2 defeat at Signal Iduna against Dortmund. In December, we kicked the overdrive though, and won all 5 games, despite a meagre offensive performance, but a staunch defence.
In a record first half of the season for us, we finished 1st, with 42 points, and conceding just half a goal per game.
Not much of a 7-8 team race as the past years, it's mainly between us and Dortmund so far, but Bayern and Wolfsburg will surely have something to say in the second semester.UEFA Champions League We drew a nightmare group, with Real Madrid, Inter and poor FC Midtjylland. We started off with the hardest game, against Real Madrid at Bernabeu, and we plauyed really well, but a penalty goal gave Madrid the win. We then hosted FCM at Olympiastadion and managed to get a comfortable, yet not enough 3-0 win. This left, the two key games in the middle double date. We hosted Inter first, winning narrowly 1-0 on a penatly goal from Guilherme, and at San Siro they played better than us an beat us 2-3. We managed to win the tiebreaker on away goals though and that might end up being key. We played Madrid at home next, and despite winning almost all the game, we conceded a last minute equaliser. Still it was a terrific point, as Madrid beat Inter in Italy. The last matchday saw us with 7 points visit FCM at Denmark, while Inter who had 9 points, played Real Madrid at Bernabeu. Just for the record, Madrid had 13 points and secure in 1st place. We won 6-1 over FCM in a terrific performance, while Madrid did us a favour and beat Inter 2-0, which secured our 2nd place in the group and advanced us to the Knockouts.
We'll face Roma in the Knockouts, a tough draw, but considering we finished 2nd in the group it was by far the easiest of them.DFB-PokalIn a bit of a strange turn of events, as we normally don't do well in the Cup, we're through into the Third Round, after beating Herkenrath 3-1 in the season opener, and then beating Dortmund on penalties, after a 2-2 draw. We'll host Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in the Third Round, a team who we beat 2-1 at home in the league.Players and PerformancesIt's been a great first half of the season, for the team and individually as well. Carlos Preciado has been our best player, scoring 13 goals and had 7 assists as well in 26 games played, with a 7.35 rating. In second place, ratings-wise left back Burak Şahin has been amazing as well, scoring a goal and having 4 assists, with a 7.29 rating. In third place, another newcomer, as CB Ricardinho has proved to be a terrific addition, scoring two goals and leading several defensive categories in the league, plus a 7.21 rating. Finally, I'd also like to reserve a bit of space for our keeper, Maximo Bejarano, who in 24 games, has conceded only 15 goals, with 13! clean sheets, his 6.98 rating is pure bullshit, as he deserves much better. Bejarano ended third in the World's Best Goalkeeper award at the end of December.
Forecast and Future - We're still good on the finances front, despite losing money monthly, as prize and sells keep up and allow us to have more and more money. The bank account currently holds €134M. - The Stadium renewal keeps its pace, and should be ready, with a 32k all-seater capacity on July 2032. We've also improved the youth and traning facilities once again, and they'll be ready in October 2032.

Please stop showing me up with my comparatively poor attempt at a save in Germany. You have made wonderful progress. When I get the chance I'm going to take a closer look at your 4312 and 41212 and see if I can learn something. In the meantime, way to go buddy. Thanks for reading mate, I gave my comments on your terrific save on your post, don't go around saying things like that, yours is amazing as well! Regarding the save, well there has been a development at the Transfer Deadline Day. Bayern came in aggresively for Juan Vásquez, our starting RB and I finally settled on selling him for a record breaking €45M. Obviously I'm overjoyed with that as I've ripped Bayern off, Vasquez is a great player, but nowhere near that value. In his replacement, came diminutive Hélio Klock (WHAT A NAME!!!!) from Cruzeiro for €10M, yeah a bit high, but that was his release clause. Klock will probably begin as a backup as Breyder Vergara has enough quality to take over the position, but I suspect the Brazilian will soon surpass him on the depth chart.

OverviewWe had a terrific first half of the year, dominating the league, overcoming a tough UCL draw to get into the Knockouts and also advancing on the Cup front. The winter window saw us sell our starting RB, Juan Vásquez to Bayern for a record fee, and bring in another young talented Brazilian, Hélio Klock and giving out the starting position to Colombian Breyder Vergara. With a real situation, where we can challenge for a treble for the first time in this save, I think this is only the beginning and only good things can come on the future.BundesligaWe kept our great form from December, winning the first 3 games, before another draw with Bayern, this time at Allianz Arena. We managed to keep it going despite a 0-0 borefest with Nürnberg, when Wolfsburg came in and gave us a hell of a game, where an early goal from us led to a bit of complacency and they dominated the rest of it, eventually scoring the tying goal and if not for Maximo Bejarano, we'd been beaten. Two more good games, with shutout wins over Gladbach and Werder Bremen before an abrupt stop against Köln in the worst game of the season. Nothing went well, in a classic European Hangover game (no spoilers, keep on reading to know), we shot 4 times and none on goal, and struggled with the ball as well, leading to a 0-1 defeat. Our advantage had run dry. With 5 games to go, we had a single point lead over Bayern and a two point lead over Dortmund. The title race was hot, and we had a hard-ish calendar, starting off by hosting Dortmund. Bayern had a mid-table calendar, somewhat tough, and Dortmund after playing us had a super easy calendar, facing relegation riddled teams. We played Dortmund next, in the match of the season. Dortmund scored early on us and dominated the first half. We made a few changes and pushed the team forward, but nothing seemed to go our way, until the last 15 minutes of the game. Reserve fullback Tim Bechtold (a player really sub standard in comparison to the squad), got a clear shot on the left wing at 76' and scored the equaliser. After the kickoff, high pressure recovered the ball and at 77' Nivaldo needled a through ball to Gilsinei who scored the go-ahead goal after beating the keeper one-on-one with a curled shot. A 2-1 win that lifted the spirits and left Dortmund with a foot out of the race. Another tough game came in next, as we faced title holders HSV, who were in 5th position and fighting for a UCL spot. Another come from behind win, in a second half packed with action that saw this: 0-1 (60'), 1-1 (61'), 2-1 (63'), 2-2 (73') and 3-2 (88'). The winning goal was scored by super sub Tihomir Livakovic. Two easier games on paper after that, as we beat Schalke and Stuttgart 3-1 and 5-1 comfortably, we could've won the title with a game in hand, but Bayern scored a 90+3 penalty goal in their game to force us to get a point in the last game to seal the title. And we did, with a nerve racking 0-0 draw against Leverkusen, winning our second Bundesliga in 3 years! Our defensive record was brilliant, conceding 0.53 goals per game. We need to work on the offensive front a bit more though. In the end, it was the Best Offense vs. the Best Defence, and as they say in american sports, Defence Wins Championships.UEFA Champions LeagueWe survived a tough group, eliminating Inter on the way to a second place finish after Real Madrid bossed the group. We faced Roma in the Knockouts and in the first leg played at home earned a 0-0 draw which was a bit disappointing, as I felt we controlled the game, but failed to score on a couple of clear chances. The return leg in Rome was again dominated by us, and felt somehow the same match as the first leg. Seven minutes from the end, Gilsinei took a long ball in the corner of the box, turned around and scored a great goal to give us the winning goal and our pass to the Quarter Finals.
Giants PSG awaited there, and I took it as a personal vendetta against French teams as Monaco obliterated us in last years' Final. At home, Nivaldo scored an early goal to give us the lead, but couldn't manage to hold on to it, and conceded a second half goal, a 1-1 draw meant we had to win in France. Paris, ohh là là!!! PSG controlled the game from the kickoff, and scored early thanks to an own goal from Breyder Vergara. We had a few chances on the counter, but nothing too big. In the second half, Nivaldo scored again on them and we were forcing the overtime, but just a few minutes later, they scored again. Carlos Preciado had a great chance to score the away goal that would've given us the qualification, but the woodwork said no. They managed to score again, and that was that, a 1-3 (2-4 on aggregate) loss and an exit from the UCL.We faced some tough teams along the way, there's no shame in the exit, but we could've played better. Remember that Köln game we lost due to European Hangover? It was right in between the two PSG games.DFB-PokalFor the first time in this save we had a bit of a Cup run. We beat minions Herkenrath in the first round, and surprised Dortmund on a penalty shootout to make it to the Third Round. There we beat Hoffenheim 2-0 and qualified for the Quarter Finals, where we beat Mainz 2-0.The semifinals were a tough tight game against Wolfsburg and only a penalty goal from Guilherme managed to put us through to the Final. Bayern was our rival and a just then the game was headed for overtime, Nivaldo scored a last minute goal to win us our first DFB-Pokal and seal a Domestic Double. Players and PerformancesThe main worry from last season was to try and improve the defence. We surely did that, by getting us a terrific GK duo in Maximo Bejarano and Jairo López who combined for 26 clean sheets in 50 games (21 in 37 for Bejarano and 5 in 13 for Lopez), and also getting a wonderful CB in Ricardinho, who slotted in perfectly to play alongside his compatriot Fábio. Offensively we struggled at times, as I would've liked to see more goals during a few patches of the season. We had 4 players scoring over 10 goals, but none of them went over 20, and after those 4, the rest of the team scored only 23 goals combined. The top goalscorer and assist man was once again Carlos Preciado, who after renewing contract had his market value shoot to €69M, in my humble opinion our best player was Brazilian Guilherme, who from the CM position managed to score 15 goals and had a 7.12 average rating. He crowned his year by being nominated to the Senior Brazil Squad, at 19 to play in the Copa America. A few other players were also nominated to their senior NT's for the first time, including Burak Şahin to Germany (for the UEFA Euro), Thierry Bachelet to France, Fons Steijn to Netherlands (for the UEFA Euro) and Nivaldo to Brazil (but not for the Copa América, earlier and ended up missing the callup for CA).
Forecast and Future
- Another great season money-wise as we have €275M in the bank account. - A few new sponsors came our way, and we'll keep racking in money on that front. - I feel the squad needs little touches. There are a few players being followed by big teams, with Gilsinei being the most probable sell as PSG will surely come knocking in the summer. If he's sold I might shift to a winger/IF based tactic again, as I'm a bit bored of the 4-4-2. - Another year of facilities improvements, I'll let you know of the status in the pre-season report. We'll move back to our own Jürgen Schultz stadium come next season, with a re-vamped 32k all seater capacity. Here's hoping we fill it every game and get another upgrade at the end of next season.
Thanks for reading!.

And we did, with a nerve racking 0-0 draw against Leverkusen, winning our second Bundesliga in 3 years!
- Another great season money-wise as we have €275M in the bank account.

I have highlighted the things I want to touch on. Congratulations on that 2nd title, inspirational achievement with this club. Secondly I can't believe how few goals you have scored! That just shows what a tight and efficient tactic you clearly have. It must work well defensively given 5-10 goals conceded have to be from set pieces. Fantastic. You are too rich! Spend some money Finishing touches. That's so me. It's never finished though.

That just shows what a tight and efficient tactic you clearly have. It must work well defensively given 5-10 goals conceded have to be from set pieces. Fantastic. You are too rich! Spend some money Finishing touches. That's so me. It's never finished though. Thanks for reading Rob! I'll re-touch on your touched points: - Thanks for the kind words. The growth of this save has been phenomenal, I've always thought it's relatively easy to overachieve in this game if you follow certain rules (budgeting, specifically). I might say this in all my rags to riches saves ever, but I'm super proud of this playthrough, it's been incredibly rewarding. - I need to assess the lack of goals issue, my tactic is pretty conservative, despite playing with a positive mentality. I've struggled with long shots and creating clear chances, maybe it's the players as I've tried and tweaked almost all the tactical nooks to try and limit them. Regarding the goals conceded, we really knocked it out of the park this year, the addition of Maximo Bejarano was key, as he's a top keeper. We actually conceded just 5 goals from set pieces, which comes from the effort of working on defensive set pieces during the weekly training and a good defensive routine. - Erm, yeah too rich. I've always been somewhat of a budget baller. But yeah, maybe we're in need of a star, and a star costs money. - Yeah, no need to redo the squad after a domestic double and a QF exit at the UCL. We need a bit more of individual quality, and that means having to sell some players who have been great for us. Let's see what the summer brings.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2032-33 Pre-Season Report
OverviewWell, I said this would be a summer of "little touches", I guess replacing 5 starters and changing tactics isn't much of that, but I'm putting the blame on you, because, as well as you know how I behave, why do you still invite me? Laughs aside, it was an exciting summer, here's hoping for a successful season. Transfers
I wanted to improve a few positions, replace Fabio as he was getting a bit disruptive on the locker room and Fons Steijn as injuries had hampered his development, so when Sevilla came in mid July for Thierry Bachelet, with a terrific €60M offer all my plans went overboard. We ended up selling Fabio to West Ham for €30M (Fabio rejected a contract from PSG who offered €70M, and then devaluated abruptly) and also sold Steijn to Stoke for €58M. I'll elaborate more on the incoming section of the report, but I struggled a lot trying to replace Bachelet as the market was a bit overvalued and there wasn't much talent for the value, so I thought of changing the tactic to a 3-man defence with a Libero and wingbacks, which meant my defensive minded fullbacks had to go. Breyder Vergara went to Leeds for €29M and Burak Şahin to Wolves for €37.5M. Three other noteworthy players left the club as Badara Diallo only lasted as season and was shipped to Marseille for €15.75M, Jan Kaplan left to Gladbach for €19M and Johnny Suarez left to RB Leipzig for €6.75M. We gathered €251M in player sales, obviously a club record.
So, we had money and I was willing to spend. As I said the market was a bit high on prices and I struggled to find players whom I saw fit for our team. The first issue was replacing Bachelet, and I didn't find a suitable DM and thus devised going with a Libero. I wanted a technical player, one that could dribble, pass, mark and could score from distance, in the end I settled for a CM whom I'll adapt into a Libero, in the shape of Jose Bernardino who came in from Benfica for €43M. He isn't a world beater, but fits the role perfectly. To build for the future, I brought 15-year old Thomas Weber from Dortmund for €5M, who'll sneak into the U-19's with a special training programme to build him into a powerhouse Libero. To replace Steijn I brought another Brazilian kid, though this time I failed to get him directly and had to go through Leeds and their abusive €45.5M MRF clause, but Luiz Carlos has tons of potential and will fit nicely alongside fellow wonderkid Guilherme in the middle of the pitch. Manchester City had around 9 players on the transfer list, I took advantage of two, getting towering Colombian Centre Back John Castro, for €46M, and craftty Brazilian wingback Wesley for €30M. To play in the other wing, Argentinian Pablo Serrano came in from Fiorentina, for €40.5M. I needed a backup striker and my weakness for La U players was rewarded as getting Johan Quilaleo for €3.7M seems like a great deal. Finally, we needed some German players to make up for registration purposes, and I got Stefan Dietrich from Mainz for €2.3M, Tobias Apitz from Stuttgart for €6.75M and Tim "Mein" Fluhrer from Bayern for €5M. We spent €100M more than last season, with the €228M being a record as well. TacticsSo, yeah tactical change. It's big in terms of how the tactic works, but in reality, the positioning isn't that different. In fact, the 4-4-2 narrow diamond shape will be used as a backup tactic while the reserves adapt to their new positions. The new tactic is a 3-4-1-2 shape with an attacking Libero. The idea is to leave the 2 stopper CB's back and attack with 8 players, adding the Libero getting in late to try a long shot or a through pass. Defensively, the wingbacks double as fullbacks covering wide players, and the Libero takes on a more traditional sweeper role, floating around picking up loose balls. We have a lot of work to adapt the tactic and for the players to learn it, I assume we'll concede more goals than last season due to that, but I'm hoping to solve the long shots issue with more strict instructions and thus generate more clear chances and get more goals.
3-4-1-2 with a Libero will be the primary tactic going forward
The now classic 4-4-2 narrow diamond will be the alternative tactic. It shares a lot with the Libero one Pre-SeasonWe had a bit of a mixed pre-season struggling a bit as some players arrived late and the new tactic also harmed us a bit. We had a tour in Brazil, taking advantage of the talent we've acquired and trying to boost commercial sales there. We beat Goias, Botafogo and Fluminense before losing in a fluke against Bahia. To round up the pre-season, we hosted Anderlecht and Shanghai SIPG, winning both games easily We played the Supercup against Dortmund and despite being dominated by them at times, we were clinical in the counter attack, and ended up winning our first Supercup 3-1. In the DFB-Pokal debut, we hammered a lower division team, with a hattrick from Luiz Carlos. Forecast and Future- It was a busy summer, but we're still a rich team, with €232M in the bank. - We moved back into our stadium, the Jürgen Schulz Park, now a 32,643 stadium, with a seating capacity of 27,203 (shame for the UCL though). - As a club we've grown a ton. This season we're predicted to go 3rd, and the Club Value is 2.22 billion euros. Also, we're currently third, behind Bayern and Dortmund in commercial income in the Bundesliga. Also, for the first time, we've been recognized as a Worldwide Club, reputation-wise. - Again we got a tough UEFA Champions League club, alongside former executioner PSG, Real Sociedad and Atalanta. I think it's an easier group than the one last year as Real Sociedad isn't as big as Inter, but Atalanta is way better than FCM who was the 4th team last year. Here's hoping for a successful campaign.

Great to read through this all - quite the epic journey! It seems strange how Bayern seem to struggle so much on FM. A lot of squad turnover this year - hopefully that can push you to a champions league title.

A lot of squad turnover this year - hopefully that can push you to a champions league title. Thanks for reading ianf! Yeah, the Bayern struggle is real, they hired Jürgen Klopp at the end of last season, and I've read that Bayern thrive under him, so I'm a bit scared now. Regarding the squad turnover, it has been like that the last 3 seasons, trying to bring better players in fact from our starting 11, only 1 player has been with us for more than 2 years.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2032-33 Midseason Report
OverviewAfter another crazy summer spending spree and a change of tactics, we aimed to try and defend our Domestic Double, while trying to win that elusive European glory as well. We had around 5 new starters to incorporate as well as develop the new tactic, so I expected a bit of a rusty start to the season, despite winning some silverware early in conquering our first German Super Cup over Dortmund.Transfers I wanted to bring in a few young talented players to try and boost our youth teams and at the same time try to generate some homegrown based players to help with registration in the near future. Alejandro Castillo was bought from Atlético Nacional for €1.5M as a short-term replacement for Jairo Lopez, who will surely leave the club in the next summer window as he's been complaining about getting first team football and whlist I got him some and now he's quiet, I think he'll come back for more soon. Lopez is inmensely talented and I think he event might be better than Bejarano in the future. Ulas Karaman, was bought from relegated Mainz, where he was getting some 2.Bundesliga football, I paid €3.5M a bit high for a 17 year old, but he's got potential. Finally, already germany homegrown Liu Yibin came in from Schalke for €1.6M and he'll slot into the senior squad right away as a backup wingback. He'll also boost our shirt sales in China and I'm preparing for a pre-season tour over there next pre-season.BundesligaJust in the second game, I envisioned what kind of problems we could have with the new tactic, after Bayern beat us 3-0 at Allianz. After tweaking a few things, we had 4 great wins in September, before having a rough October, with 3 straight draws, but then we really kicked into gear and finished the semester with a terrific 25 out of 27 points, with 8 wins and 1 draw.
In what was another record-setting first half of the season for us, we finished atop the Bundesliga with 43 points
Another clear 3-team race with Bayern and Dortmund following us from a respectable distance.UEFA Champions LeagueWe landed in a tough group, with PSG, Real Sociedad and Atalanta. We had a great start to the group phase, beating Atalanta 2-0, Real Sociedad 3-1 and PSG twice 2-0 and 3-0 to guarantee qualification with 2 games to go. Amidst fixture congestion, we played backups against Atlanta at home and lost 1-3. Finally, despite playing a full strength side, we only managed a last-minute draw against Real Sociedad in Spain to finish the group in 1st place, with 13 points, but a bit worried over the performances in the last 2 games.
The luck of the knockouts gave us Inter in the next round. A tough challenge, but I'm confident we'll win it as I believe we're a better team than them.
DFB-PokalAnother good start in the Cup, breezing into the 3rd Round after beating Arminia Hannover and Kaiserslautern in the first 2 rounds. We'll face RB Leipzig in the Third Round come February.
Players and PerformancesIt's been a great start to the season, with amazing individual performances in the likes of Ricardinho, Carlos Preciado, John Castro, José Bernardino, Paulo Serrano and Gilsinei. Our top goalscorer and assist man was once again the Colombian Preciado, with 12 and 11 to his name, while Ricardinho is our top rated player with 7.37.
Forecast and Future - The bank manager must be happy as our account has €189M and we're considered a rich club. - We submitted for approval (from city council I guess), another stadium expansion, this time bringing the Jürgen Schulz park to a 42k (hopefully all-seater). - Our current facilities status is as follow: Good Corporate, Superb Training, Good Data Analysis, Excellent Youth, Exceptional Coaching and Extensive Recruitment.
Thanks for reading!.

OverviewAfter another great first half of the season, where we just lost two games in all competitions, the idea in the second semester was to try and compete in all three fronts we currently are to see if we can bring home a real treble, after last years' domestic double.Bundesliga Three straight wins kicked off the second semester, before we played our worst game of the season, losing 0-3 against HSV in a game where, despite playing all our starters, we just never really found our game. After that, we surely did find it. Bayern and Dortmund had already started falling off in the title race, and the 8 straight wins we had after that loss against HSV, ended up granting us the Bundesliga title with 4 games left in the season. We finished the league with a loss (played with backups due to UCL games), two more wins and a draw. In the end, we won the league with 83 points from 26 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses, and a 14-point gap over Bayern who ended up 2nd. We ended up being the league's best defense and best offense. I still believe we can be better in both categories, though.UEFA Champions League After winning our group, we had to face Inter in the First Knockout Round. We went to Milan and played a great first half, scoring a goal and dominating. They came back in the 2nd, and scored two goals, but we stood tall and ended up tying the game with a goal from Gilsinei. The 2-2 first leg result was pretty good and I was confident we'd seal the deal in Berlin. By '33 of the second leg, though, we were down 0-2 and playing horribly. Fortunately in our first approach on their goal we scored on a lucky own-goal and narrowed the distance. But then, the tying goal wouldn't fall. We bombarded their keeper and every one of our attempts was denied. Until the 90th minute, when Carlos Preciado managed to score after a counter attack and on to the extra time we went, but down a man, as John Castro was sent off on 90+4'. No goals on the E.T. and on to the shootout, where we managed to keep our cool and win 5-4 to put us into the Quarter-Finals. A familiar foe awaited us there, PSG who eliminated us last season on this same stage. But now, with more knowledge as we also faced in the group stage, where we won both games. After a nerve-wrecking knockouts affair, this time it was something less stressing, as we sealed the deal early, on the first leg in Berlin, winning 6-1. In Paris, we became a bit over complacent, but the distance was too much to even get nervous, and a 0-3 loss meant we comfortably were onto the Semifinals. Arsenal was our rival there, and much in the same fashion than in the Quarter Finals, we tied the knot on the first leg at home, winning 6-0. This time, in London we managed to get a 1-1 draw to get us into our second UCL Finals. Manchester City, the title defenders, met us in the Final, played in Germany at Allianz Arena in Munich. It was a tight game, with a half for each team, and no real chances for the strikers. A 0-0 draw got us into the Extra Time, and unfortunately, in our defense's only mistake in the game, they scored at '95 to put themselves ahead 0-1. And that was all she wrote, and we lost again in our second UCL Final.
The elusive UEFA Champions League title, must wait another year at least, to be welcomed with arms wide open, into our trophy cabinet. After the QF and SF games, where we played amazingly at home, I was confident for the final, but the Citizens played greatly and deserved the Cup.DFB-Pokal Another terrific Cup run, as we managed to win our second Pokal title in a row, sealing another consecutive Domestic Double (though the game calls it a Treble, after winning the German Supercup as well). We beat Arm. Hannover, Kaiserslautern, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Freiburg and Dortmund en route to the Cup Title. Players and Performances After a small rockier start for the new tactic, where we managed to win a few games narrowly and lose/draw against the bigger teams we faced, in the second semester we really took off and dominated almost every team we faced. We beat Dortmund twice, and demolished giants PSG and Arsenal at home. We had a few bright spots, Carlos Preciado was our top scorer and assister with 22 and 17, also our top rated player at 7.30. Our two centerbacks were amazing as well, Ricardinho with 5 goals and 2 assists, rated 7.27 and John Castro, with 6 goals and 5 assists, rated 7.26. The Libero, Jose Bernardino had a couple of goals and no assists, but was also rated highly, with a 7.14, while Gilsinei, despite losing a big chunk of the season on injury, managed to score 13 goals and had 13 assists to his name and a 7.26 rating. Nivaldo, Luiz Carlos and Johan Quilaleo also managed to score over 10 goals each, while our starting GK, the drunkard Maximo Bejarano kept 14 clean sheets in 36 games, and conceded just 32 goals.
Forecast and Future
- Despite big spending, the bank account is super inflated, with €283M. - The new tactical system worked beautifully. I plan on doing a bit more of explaining in the preseason post that comes next (hopefully around Monday-Tuesday), but must I say I'm happy with it. The squad might need 1-2 upgrades, and I'm open to selling almost anyone for the right price. - The stadium is being upgraded to reach a 42k capacity, and it'll be ready by December 2033. We'll keep playing in our ground during that time, albeit at a reduced 28k capacity while the works are being done.

Tennis Borussia Berlin2033-34 Midseason Report
OverviewWell, there was no pre-season report for this year, as we didn't have much transfer activity during the summer so I decided to skip it. I know I said I'd do a tactics and squad report, and if there's people interested, I can do it as a "special feature" haha. Well, a quiet summer meant repeating the same starting XI from a year ago, something new for this season, as I'd really never had much consistency in that regard. But as they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", and I guess winning the Bundesliga, the Pokal and Super Cup, plus a UCL final means we don't have to touch much to continue to be successful. Transfers So, a quiet summer, with mainly 2 player sales, as Colombians Jairo Lopez and Sebastian Rodríguez went to Sporting CP and Augsburg. The first one had stagnated a bit and never got to really challenge Maximo "Crazy Eyes" Bejarano for the starting spot. Lopez had begun to complain about playing time, and I duly sold him for €31.5M (plus €16M in clauses). Rodríguez never really got it going and played few games, he was sold for €7M. We brought in several young players, as I decided to scout around and bring a lot of exciting 18-19 year old prospects who can in turn become homegrown. Some of them will play "here and there" but I don't expect much of a turnover for this season. Arranged in December 2032, we brought in Mauricio Schneider from Nacional on a free transfer and he'll slot into the first team squad, as the backup libero and CM as well. He's a huge talent and already a capped player for the Uruguayan NT.
In the Winter Window, Tottenham came in for our starting LWB, Brazilian Wesley who had had a brilliant first half of the season with 6 goals, 7 assists and 5 PoM awards. We settled for a €56M bid and said goodbye to him. In his position, we brought in Englishman Peter Lawal, a terrific 21 year-old wingback with International experience and a ton of room to grow. We overpaid Brighton, at €75M, but in a world with few great fullbacks, I believe Lawal to already be one and on the rise as well.
BundesligaIn amazing fashion, we managed to stay unbeaten during the whole first semester. In the Bundesliga, we won 16 games and drew 2, including terrific victories as visitor against Bayern 6-2 and Dortmund 4-1. We were truly unplayable with a couple of sub-par games against RB Leipzig in which we conceded a last minute goal, and against Stuttgart, the only game in the whole semester where we didn't find the net. I don't think we can be more dominant than this, as this semester is close to perfection. We obviously ended up the league in 1st place, with 50 points and a comfortable 9-point lead over Bayern in 2nd.
I think the three-peat is almost in our hands, only we can fuck it up.UEFA Champions LeagueIn the same fashion as the Bundesliga, we also were unbeaten in the Champions League Group. We beat Marseille and Dinamo Zagreb twice, bashed Man U at home 5-1 and drew at Old Trafford 1-1, to ace our group with 16 points and an amazing +16 goal difference. We had a great draw in the Knockouts, and we'll face Villarreal in February/March.
DFB-Pokal Finally, we are also unbeaten in the local Cups, as we managed to win our second straight Super Cup, beating Bayern in penalties, after a 2-2 draw by 90 minutes. In the Pokal we comfortably defeated Ulm and Werder Bremen. We'll play Dortmund in the Third Round in January.
Players and PerformancesOnce again, the back 3 have been among our top players, with Ricardinho (2 goals, 2 assists, 7.50), José Bernardino (2 goals, 1 assists, 7.45) and John Castro (2 goals, 2 assists, 7.40) being among the top 10 players in the Bundesliga in terms of average rating. On the goalscoring side, we've had a ton of goals, divided among the squad. Carlos Preciado is the top man, with 13 goals, followed by Nivaldo with 11 and Gilsinei with 9. On the assists area, Pablo Serrano leads with 10, followed by Gilsinei with 9 and Nivaldo and Wesley with 7.Gotta give also a nod to our starting GK, Máximo Bejarano. He's conceded 15 goals in 25 games, with 14 clean sheets, has saved 90 shots and has a rating of 7.06.Forecast and Future- Things are still looking good in the moneyland, with €217M in the bank. - We completed the Stadium Expansion, now boasting a 43,643 capacity, with 38,203 of them being seats. - No changes on the facilities status, I tried asking for Youth and Training Facilities upgrades during the contract extension The Board offered and I got rejected in both. I'll try again at the end of the season.

Definitely would be good to see a tactics special feature. I would not have sold my high performing starting left back if I knew it would cost me 20m more to replace him! Hope it works out well for you

Hope it works out well for you Thanks for reading Ian!! I'll do the tactics special, I'm having a ton of fun with the style I'm playing right now and it's dominated the league so far (still unbeaten in the season, 42 games so far, here's hoping not to jynx it). Regarding the sale of Wesley, the offer was good, and I had money. I thought I'd get a top tier fullback for that price, and whlist Lawal isn't one, he has the potential to be one and his ability is somehow similar to Wesley's. We got a player 5 years younger, who's already playing (albeit as a sub) in a highly competitive National Team, and with tons of potential for "just" 20M more. Wesley played amazingly this half-season, no doubts, but he was stagnating regarding potential ability and he wasn't world class as well, he was serviceable.

We had an amazing first half of the season, finishing unbeaten in all competitions, obviously leading the league by a big margin and still in the UCL and Cup, while also winning the German Supercup. There isn't much else to tell, as we've been amazing and a few teams have had us against the ropes, even beating big teams by big margins (6-2 to Bayern, 4-1 to Dortmund, 5-1 to Man U, to name a few). We even managed to improve the team in the winter window, bringing in talented English LB Peter Lawal, as we sold former starter Wesley to Tottenham. Can we manage to stay unbeaten? Will we bring at last, European glory to Berlin? BundesligaWe were a step above all teams in the Bundesliga. This season we were unplayable and Invincibles! We won 14 games and drew 2 in the second half of the season, were proclaimed Champions with 5 games in hand and ended up winning the league, as Unbeaten Champions, with 94 points and an 18 point difference over Bayern in 2nd place. Top offense and top defense of the league, a terrific +66 GD. UEFA Champions LeagueWe faced Villarreal in the Knockouts and I was fairly confident of getting a good result. The Yellow Submarine proved to be a hellish rival and we almost ended our unbeaten streak playing at the Ceramic Stadium, and only a 90+2 goal from Helio Klock gave us a draw. On the second leg, we required extra time, as they equalised the game at '86 forcing the overtime. Nivaldo ended up giving us the qualification with a terrific goal. On Quarter-Finals we had to go to France again, and face Monaco, the team that beat us in our first UCL final, back in 2031. We beat them at home 4-2, but the two away goals they managed had me super nervous. At Monaco, an early goal from Gilsinei left me a bit more at easy, specially when the Brazilian doubled our lead. We ended up winning 2-1 and getting into the Semifinals.
Another familiar foe awaited us there, as Manchester City the current repeat champion who defeated us in last season's UCL final was our next obstacle. Again, Gilsinei was brilliant and had a brace by '6. Carlos Preciado chipped in by '52 and Máximo Bejarano played an amazing game, as we managed to get a 3-0 win at home. In Manchester, again Bejarano was key, and when the draw seemed likely, Ricardinho scored at 90+1' to give us the win and our second straight UCL Final.
In a weird turn of events, our rival there was Real Sociedad. I was super confident of winning it. I thought "here's it, we have it!" when I saw them as finalists. But it wasn't gonna be so easy, as they were giant killers on this run. Real Sociedad beat Club Brugge, Lyon and Wolfsburg in the group phase, then obliterated Bayern on the Knockouts, beat Barcelona on penalties on the QF's and beat comfortably PSG on the semifinals. An amazing, dream filled run for them.
It was a tight, tough and fought game. The first half was a Study Round, as when boxers don't hit much and instead analyze their spar on the first rounds of a fight. But the second started quickly as Germán Valera scored for them at '58, only to be followed by a goal from Gilsinei at '59 and things were quickly 1-1. Valera scored again on a penalty at '85 and I fell silent. But again on the next play, at '85 a shot from Johan Quilaleo was deflected on a defender and into the net. 2-2 and again onto Extra Time. There, we were better. And on the brink of the first ET, Guilherme found the net at '105. The second ET was brutally eternal, but in the end we managed to hold on and win our first UEFA Champions League! It was an amazing run, beating both Monaco and Man City, teams who denied us our first 2 UCL finals, was super sweet. Spanish teams gave a fight, though. I really thought both Villareal and Real Sociedad would have been easier. DFB-PokalFinally, we had another easy Cup run, with only a small hiccup, on our visin to Munich, playing second tier 1860 München, who forced another extra time on us. We beat both Bayern and Dortmund on our way to the Final, both being 4-0 easy wins. On the Final, we comfortably beat Wolfsburg 2-0, meaning not only our third straight Pokal, not only a big Treble, but also a freaking unbeaten season.
WE DIDN'T LOSE A SINGLE GAME ALL SEASON! Players and PerformancesTruly, we were unbelievable. We won all games against Bayern and Dortmund in the season. We won a total of 44 games, drew 6 and won 4 after either extra time or penalties (I think they are considered draws, for record keepings), we scored 142 goals, an incredible 2.6 per game and conceded just 33 goals, 0.6 per game. Absolutely dominant. We had 3 players with over 20 goals each, with Gilsinei scoring 25, Carlos Preciado 24 and Nivaldo 21. All three of them had more than 3 assists as well, with 18, 11 and 10 respectively. Pablo Serrano and Helio Klock had 16 and 11 as well. Again on goals, Mauricio Schneider and Guilherme scored 10 goals each and despite only playing 12 games, Johan Quilaleo scored 8 goals. Only José Bernardino played in all 54 games, with one of them being as a backup. Ricardinho and Gilsinei played 53.
We ended up the year, with the great news of having 16 players representing the club at the World Cup, including 5 on the Brazil squad, Ricardinho, Guilherme, Luiz Carlos, Nivaldo and Gilsinei.
Forecast and Future - We're in an amazing financial position, with €405M in the bank. - The tactic works like a charm, we have amazing players yes, but the tactical setup makes them shine. I'll try to have a more in-depth look into it in a separate future post. - Not much movement on the facilities side. I think we still could improve things a bit, here's hoping we can ask again in the near future.
Thanks for reading!.

Tennis Borussia Berlin3-4-1-2 Tactical Report
Overview A couple of seasons ago I decided to change the tactical setup of the team, from playing a 4-4-2 diamond to playing a more attacking 3-4-1-2 with an attacking Libero and Wingbacks. Since the change, we've won 2 Bundesligas, 2 DFB-Pokal, 2 German Super Cup, 1 UEFA Champions League and was runners-up in the other UCL we played. Also, in the second season of this tactic, after overcoming the tactical knowledge problems, we managed to pull off an unbeaten season, with 44 wins and 10 draws. A few guys have asked me to elaborate a bit on the setup and I'll try to do my best here, as I'm not really an expert on this matter.
Shape, Roles and Instructions
It's a basic 3-defender 2 wing backs, 2 central mids, 1 attacking mid and 2 forwards shape. I like to play with a sweeper keeper, despite playing with a Libero, in the back, we play an Attacking Libero and two Ball Playing Defenders as I like to play from the back, then 2 Supporting Wingbacks. The centre backs need to be quick to cover for wide spaces in counter attacks, whlist the Libero must have a lot of skills, dribbling, flair, heading, quickness, long range shooting and passing are amongst the key for me. The wingbacks need to be hard working as they'll cover a ton of space, in their flank runs both attacking and then retreating as well, they'll also require crossing, dribbling and marking abilities. In the middle, I play a deep playmaker, who will start attacks with long passes, while also roaming around the box late into the plays, so passing, marking, and long shots are key here, the other central mid is set to attack, and serves as an additional forward, getting into the box to connect crosses or to snap rebounds, so finishing, heading, passing and long shots. The AM position is filled by a shadow striker, effectively netting us 4 forwards in or around the box to resolve the situations generated by the playmaker and the wingbacks. Up front, a complete forward whose role is to support attacks and an advanced forward who can get into the flanks if neccesary. Both need good passing, crossing, finishing and long shots ideally. As you can see, the pitch is well covered, only showing as a reddish zone, the DM position, but it's covered both by the DLP and by the Libero. If we factor in desired player movement it's like this:This movement chart gives out these shapes in offensive/defensive situations:The instructions are as follow:In possession we want to play out from the back, as I said above and work the ball into the box to try and increase ball possession and clear chances, this leads to a bit of lateral passing, but I'm comfortable with it. Play for set pieces is something I discovered this year and it pays off it you work on Set Pieces during the weekly training. Despite being a rather narrow shape, with only wingbacks as flank attacking, I focus play through the wings as crosses are a key part of my offensive play. I also use the Higher Tempo instruction to try and suffocate the opposition. In transition things are simple, we try and recover the ball quickly, with counter press and counter attacking. In accordance to the play from the back instruciton the keeper distributes to the centre backs or fullbacks.Out of Possession I prefer to defend wider as I don't have fullbacks to rely on, the press is high, both on the defensive line and on the forwards line, thus creating a compact, short team which if you factor in the more urgent pressing, the gk press and the quick tempo, ends up pushing our opponents to their limits. I also like tighter marking and using the offside trap, even though I don't see much difference in the game with them on.Player InstructionsI've got a terrific set of players. Let's start there. I wouldn't dream of approaching the game with this tactical setup and a bad team, this isn't a "plug and play" tactic. I think it requires physical players with high technical abilities as well. I'll list the player instructions for each role and put up a picture of the current starter for the past season.Sweeper Keeper - Defend: No Individual Instructions - Player Traits: Uses long throw to start counter attacks.Ball Playing Defender (L) - Defend: Shoot Less Often, Close Down More, Mark Tighter, Take More Risks, Hold Position - Player Traits: Stays Back at All Times, Refrains From Taking Long ShotsLibero - Attack: Close Down Less, Mark Tighter, Shoot More Often, Dribble More, Take More Risks, Get Further Forward - Player Traits: None (I have not been able to convince my coaches of adding a few)Ball Playing Defender (R) - Defend: Shoot Less Often, Close Down More, Mark Tighter, Take More Risks, Hold Position - Player Traits: Stays Back at All Times, Plays No Through BallsWingback (L) - Support: Cross More Often, Dribble More, Stay Wider, Close Down More, Mark Tighter, Run Wide With Ball, Get Further Forward - Player Traits: Knocks Ball Past OpponentWingback (R) - Support: Cross More Often, Dribble More, Stay Wider, Close Down More, Mark Tighter, Run Wide With Ball, Get Further Forward - Player Traits: Knocks Ball Past Opponent, Possesses Long Flat ThrowDeep Lying Playmaker - Support: More Direct Passes, Mark Tighter, Shoot Less Often, Take More Risks, Hold Position - Player Traits: Stops Play, Runs With Ball Down LeftCentral Midfielder - Attack: Pass it Shorter, Dribble More, Mark Tighter, Get Further Forward - Player Traits: Plays One-TwosShadow Striker - Attack: Pass it Shorter, Roam From Position, Dribble More, Take More Risks, Get Further Forward, Move Into Channels - Player Traits: Gets Into Opposition Area, Tries First Time ShotsComplete Forward - Support: Pass it Shorter, Hold Up Ball, Dribble More, Take More Risks, Move Into Channels, Roam From Position - Player Traits: Curls Ball, Likes to Lob Keeper, Knocks Ball Past OpponentAdvanced Forward - Attack: Pass it Shorter, Roam From Position, Gets Further Forward, Move Into Channels - Player Traits: Tries Killer Balls Often, Likes to Lob Keeper, Knocks Ball Past Opponent.Final WordsIt's been a hell of a ride playing with this tactic. I've had so much fun scouting players to fill in some positions. I've done some manual scouting, filtering attirbutes and selecting the right player. Still it's not perfect, as when I devised the tactic still some players didn't want to play for us. I feel we could improve a bit, specially the right wingback, the libero (I've been nurturing a prospect for a couple of years now, I bought him as a 15-year old and now he's made the team at 17, as the backup Libero), and both strikers. I might even try and change it up a bit and play with one lone striker and inside forwards, if I manage to sell Nivaldo or maybe with no strikers and inside forwards+ the shadow striker in Nivaldo. I dunno if I'mma be able to do that before FM20 hits the shelves. If anyone has a specific question regarding the tactic, feel free to ask. I didn't put much effort in showing stats, heat maps or videos as I feel they could be easily manipulated (showing the best games), instead tried to give out how I think the tactic should work and how I've configured it.

Quick one-hitter post, only to tell you that... It was nice while it last, we obviously shattered all records, almost two years unbeaten in the Bundesliga. The overall unbeaten record had already been broken as well, as we lost in the Supercup, early in the season. To summarize it, in the end was: - 54 Games without losing in all Competitions. - 64 Games without losing in the Bundesliga. The defeat came in all FM fashion, a game where nothing goes your way, 2 VAR assisted offside disallowed goals, 2 times more shots on goal from us, we won the possession, and had an injury after making 3 subs. It was bound to be.

After the unbeaten season I really didn't think this save could have much more legs to it. I felt like playing another season to have a go at the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup was a good way to end the save, but in the end I had a blast playing through this season, so much that I skipped the winter update and well, I'll do it all on one big post #SorryNotSorry. We had some interesting dealings, shifting things a bit specially after the winter break, alongside some good results and some bad results as well. All I can say, without spoiling much is that I feel I can go a bit further into the save. Transfers It was a quiet summer again, as our core starting team wasn't touched and I only managed sell a couple of backups, Vaclav Polak an eternal promise of a player to Sevilla for €72M and Tihomir Livakovic to Leicester for €19.25M. In return, I needed a young central midfielder with potential, someone who could challenge on the long term to be a starter. Again Brazil is a gold mine for this kind of players and I got him in Edi Carlo, from Flamengo for €12.25M.
Our top striker, Carlos Preciado suffered a broken ankle in the Cup Final last season, which meant he missed all pre-season and also regressed quite a bit. He ended up losing his starting position to Johan Quilaleo, who shined at times and ended up the first semester as our top goalscorer. We ended up selling a hugely depreciated Preciado (no pun intended) to Jiangsu for €30M, while Quilaleo ended up getting the attention of Man City, who took him for €70M. So, with two strikers down in the winter, I decided to splash big and got two terrific wonderkids, albeit for a wholefuckton of money. We paid a club record €131M to Real Madrid for Manolo and a not less significant €86M to RB Leipzig for Matthias Cimander.
With the two new strikers being top class and with room to improve, Gilsinei was moved to the bench and is a probable candidate to leave the club this summer. BundesligaDespite us not being that dominant, as last year, the league was a bit of a walk in the park. We finished the first half of the season unbeaten, but had a few draws in the middle. In the second half as told by the post above Ian's we lost the league unbeaten run with a horrible 0-4 loss against surprise package Augsburg. Then we had another loss in the penultimate game, when the title had already been secured. We won the title with 86 points, a 12 point advantage over Augsburg who finished 2nd. Again, top offense and top defense of the league, with an amazing +56 GD. UEFA Champions League and Club World CupWe drew a tough group with Juventus, PSV and Benfica. I was confident, though of getting through which we did, quite easily in the end, despite a loss against Benfica at home. The knockouts drew us against Real Madrid, a hell of a draw. But before that, we had to make a trip to Morocco for the Club World Cup. We thoroughly beat Jiangsu at the semifinal 3-0 and Boca Juniors in the Final 3-0 to win our first CWC in our first appearance.
Well as I said, in February we had to go face Real Madrid and we did it in amazing fashion, beating them 2-0 at Bernabeu and then 2-0 at home with a goal from Manolo. In the Quarter-Finals we faced Real Sociedad, repeating what was the Final from last yea. This time a 1-1 draw at Anoeta, plus an extra time 3-2 win at home with a hattrick from newcomer Matthias Cimander secured our qualification to the Semi-Finals. Manchester United was our appointed rival there, and we won 2-0 at home to get a strong start, but at Old Trafford, ManU played brilliantly, winning 2-0 and forcing the Extra Time. They scored early in the E.T., but a penalty in the last minute of the first ET, scored by Guilherme granted us the away goals win on extra time.
In the Final, our third straight and fourth overall, we had to face Manchester City, who beat us a couple of seasons ago. Just like in 2033 it was a tight game, with no team being better. We lost Manolo to injury before '10, then they scored early in the second half, and we managed to tie it at '87 via Bernhard Stöhr, taking it yet again to Extra Time (just like the previous two UCL Finals we were in). There, they had the upper hand and we woke up late. A couple of goals secured the title for Manchester City and yet another UCL Final defeat for us.
All in all a good couple of runs, winning the CWC was brilliant and hopefully the UCL defeat spurs us to more success down the road. CupsWe kicked off the season losing in the German Supercup, against Bayern 2-4 in a bad, bad game where we never got anything going. Then came the UEFA Super Cup, facing Atalanta, and we managed to get the title with a good 2-0 win. In the DFL-Pokal, we didn't play our best, beating a small team in the first round, before two consecutive penalty wins and a penalty loss in the Quarter-Finals. Players and PerformancesDespite the great season, we didn't have a good season regarding individual performances. The second semester was a bit better, after adding Manolo and Cimander who brought us great firepower up front. In fact, Cimander ended up being our top goalscorer, with 16 goals in 25 games, followed by central mid Guilherme, who also had 16, but in 51 games. Nivaldo had 13, Manolo 12 (in 26 games), Luiz Carlos and Gilsinei 9, Bernhard Stöhr 7 and Pablo Serrano 6. On the passing department, our top assister was Guilherme with 13, then both our wingbacks Serrano and Peter Lawal with 12. Luiz Carlos had 7, while Manolo and Nivaldo had 6.Forecast and Future- Despite the huge spending spree, we still have around €420M in the bank. - I'm thinking of tweaking the tactic a bit, to suit the new forwards. Regarding the squad, I'm feeling we could improve a bit in certain positions, Ricardinho has stalled a bit, and Pablo Serrano's spot could be taken by a better player. Also Nivaldo's salary is too high, so he could be moved if we find a suitable replacement. - Nothing new on the facilities side, I still though we could upgrade the stadium once more, but I don't get the option. The facilities need a bit of a last upgrade as well. I might do something about it in the summer.

Bad news mates. My computer decided to die on me (it doesn't turn on and the power led indicator when you plug the charger doesn't turn on as well). I've reverted to my old computer (the one that died was 4 months new!!!) but unfortunately I never cloud saved my FM game, so I can't get back to this save while the computer is on repairs (the store I bought it from, said it was out of their warranty and thus had to be sent to the manufacturer. So ASUS will take care of it as it has warranty with them) but it can take as long as a month for them to repair it.
So yeah, this save is kinda stopped. I say stopped and not bottled as I was playing the 2035-36 season and the save had a bit more legs to it (I calculated 2-3 seasons longer at least), I was doubting on whether to pre-order FM20 as the save I have planned is a huge journeyman save which will need a lot of Klaasen's league packs or other source of world leagues in order to be doable. With that in mind and my computer dying on me I decided I won't buy FM20 until I see that this leagues are released and hopefully while on sale hahahaha. This means I'll get back to FM19 once I recover my computer (and if they get it back to me with my files intact) and this save will keep on steady.
Thanks to all that have been following all along. I hope to get back to it soon.

A great save and read. Finally read up on your 3412 tactic and like your strategies and explanations. FM19 seems to have been a good version for you and I'm pleased.

Cheers Rob, indeed FM 19 has been a step up since 18 for me at least. I enjoyed it a lot more. As I said above though, this save isn't ended yet, I hope to get my computer back with my files intact and resume it for a while. I won't vuy FM20 until I see some added leagues to download as I plan on a massive journeyman save.
