Yep we went up the leagues fast! I was expecting that I might had to change the tactic because the heavy pressing would leave us exposed and good teams would destroy us, but that hasn't been the case at all. I got them here: sortitoutsi.net/downloads/view/50063/pes-regen-faces-into-fmThere are only about a hundred faces though, and you have to edit the config file of your facepack using the ID of the regen, so it's a lot of work that I can't really be bothered to do usually. I've only done these 2 players haha. Your post made me google for regen faces and I just downloaded this: fm-base.co.uk/resources/zealands-real-faces-on-regens.205/This seems really cool, but it doesn't take ethnicity into account, and many of the faces are white. If you manage in Europe I reckon it'll be mostly fine, but the 2034 World Cup squad of Ghana will feature a stupid amount of white players. I think I'm gonna use this for a while and see if I like it, but probably this will annoy me too much.

Wow! We were flying at the start of the second half of the season and even topped the league briefly, but we dropped some points later on. Lazio Roma lost their penultimate game to Sampdoria, and then we played them for a CL spot. On the one hand I'm happy we qualified for the CL, but it also feels like stuff is going a little too fast. It would have been fun to finish 7th and qualify for that new European Cup. The board gives me just €9m to spend, and even wanted high profile signings, but luckily I negotiated that out of the club vision. I don't want to go down that route and with our limited funds it seems pretty impossible too. For next season I have signed 2 players that have been on loan with us for the last 2 seasons for a combined €5m. The transfer budget is a bit lower than expected so I'll have to spend wisely in order to strengthen enough for the increased amount of fixtures, but I'm looking forward to it!

I'm having a hard time feeling this new game. I have half a mind to go back, fix the issues on the italian database I was using, choosing a different team and going for the Tyrolean challenge again.

I have decided, I'm going back to Südtirol, I already have a file with all the bugs fixed and am just working on optimising the promotion relegations between the lower sudtiroler leagues. Now, I need help choosing what team I'll play with. Südtirol as the top team is out of the question, as is St. Georgen. In fact, they're the teams that indirectly will help me climb up the ladder. These are the teams I'm torn between: In the 5th tier: FC ObermaisThe overachieversFormed only the the late 60s, this used to be a lowly neighbourhood team from the town of Meran, the second biggest in Südtirol, where at the time there was a team lplaying at semi-pro level and got close to Serie C a few times. They have shot up the leagues in the last years, modernised their look, and have a rabid following for a lower league club, with 3 different tiffosi groups, and a great atmosphere in their home games - think like an italian version of Dulwich Hamlet or Clapton. Last year they went all the way to the playoffs to go to Serie D and actually lost outside the field when they refused to play against Legnaco after their fans were attacked before the away game. Against points are a tiny (if very picturesque) stadium (only 500 people), low reputation and facilities. SSV BrixenThe academyBrixen is the third biggest town in the region, and Brixen are their main football representative. It has the second best youth facilities of the region, and while on the lower levels will most likely regularly provide me with some players good enough to play for the main squad. Their stadium is also three times bigger than the one of Obermais, and have better reputation, but they're missing the big fan presence that Obermais have. Bozner FCThe central onesBozner has the advantage of playing in the capital. Their stadium isn't amazing but if they need to groundshare as we go up the leagues the best options are all close by, and it'll be easier to convince players to join. They play in a nice and rare orange and black combination, but their logo is very basic.

In the 6th tier (where I started last time): AFC EppanThe facilitiesAFC Eppan have a big advantage. They use as their home stadium the facilities that Südtirol train in. And we're talking about a state of the art training center that teams such as Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern, Inter Milan and the German National team have all used for their pre-season or for Euro and World Cup preparation. Their current squad isn't the best, and IRL they were actually dead last when COVID 19 stopped all the leagues throughout Europe. SSV BruneckThe old boysOr I could just start again with the same team. The main attraction for me is that Bruneck can trace back their foundation to Bruneck Turnverein, a team formed in 1862, making it one of the oldest institutions in Italy (even though it was formed while it was still Austria).

This one is coming down to the last game! Lazio was 7 points clear a few games ago but couldn't cope with the pressure. An away win at Sassuolo should do it for us!

Still can't really believe we won this one, the first league title in Palermo history! So many teams had been in first place anywhere during the year, but in the end Lazio seemed to be running away with it. They only got 7 points out of their last 6 games though, and blew their lead. Inter were trash this year, Juventus mostly spend their time in 4th/5th place and now finally fired Sarri after winning just one league title in 5 seasons. AS Roma were champions last year, but seemed to struggle to be top half this year until winning 11 of their last 12 games. But the weirdest season award certainly goes to Sampdoria, who after miraculously escaping relegation on the last day in the previous season, topped the league after 21 games, only to implode completely again. We also finally overcame Juventus in the cup after being knocked out by them the last 2 years, and we went on to win it! The Champions League was much less of a success though, being drawn into a group with Liverpool, FC Porto and Olympique Lyon. We got trashed in the away games, got 5 points at home, but finished fourth. It seemed like we struggled with the increase in fixtures, because our form in the second half of the season certainly improved. I'm not sure what the summer will bring for us. We need a right back and a midfielder or two, and I'm planning to improve the central defense because most of them were with us in the Serie B already. I expect it will mostly be shaped by offers for my players that I can't refuse, and will have to replace. The board gave me €58m to spend and I have €300k per week in spare wages due to the massive increase in the budget after selling a player for €30m. There is more than €80m in the bank so I'm open the spend some of it, but we have to be sensible with our money because players will start to demand higher wages, and still almost all our income comes from TV and CL money. As soon as we get to the point where we start making losses every month due to the higher wages, we may get into trouble. Edit: Aaaaand it begins. West Bromwich Albion just bid €50m for Curtis Jones, who I got on a free last year from Liverpool and did well for us. Would rather not lose him, but this is crazy money and he takes up a non-EU spot due to Brexit. Funny side note: I also got him on loan when we were still in Serie C, where he somehow scored less than in Serie A. Now I also get to see if the wage budget spikes up again after the transfer. Edit 2: He didn't accept the offer and is now mad at me for trying to sell him...

congrats on the title and the cup. What is your TV Money like at the moment? as I think Italy in fm20 is reputation or positional based on increased TV money?
Im lucky on my Venezia save, that UK has not left EU.

That's a great start of the season! If I remember correctly I got around €44m TV money after I just got promoted. I finished fourth and then got €58m the next season. Unfortunately I can't go far enough back into my inbox to find the e-mail for the TV money after winning the league, but I believe it was €66m. So TV money kept increasing after finishing higher in the league, but my reputation obviously also got a boost each year so I can't give you a conclusive answer yet unfortunately.

Another close finish, but we held of Internazionale for our second title! It was mostly a two horse race as Guardiola's Lazio fell apart again in the second half of the season. Juventus were horrendous for most of the season and spent most of the season in positions 10-15 until they picked up pace at the end. Roma, Fiorentina and AC Milan probably aren't too happy either, whist Cagliari did a fantastic job. Juve Stabia managed to go winless for the entire season. We also won the Cup against Juventus and the Super Cup by beating Lazio. Because we won the league last season, the draw in the Champions League was much more favourable this time with Zenit, Celtic and Atletico Madrid. We went on to win all 6 games, only to get drawn against Real Madrid. They beat us 3-0 at the Bernabeu, but we then crushed them at home in our best performance of the season; 6-1. Next up was Manchester United and they lucked their way to a 1-3 win in Palermo, after which we also lost the second game 2-0. I'm not sure what my plans are for the transfer window. My squad is very young and quite some players still have plenty of room to improve so I think that it just requires patience to get a squad capable of winning the Champions League, although the (lack of) strength of the Serie A may make us look better than we are. Juventus and Inter aren't nearly as good as the Spanish or English top teams. I might cash in on some of the players that were already with me in the Serie B (or even earlier), because especially up front we lack some talent. Finding the next Cavani or Dybala for Palermo turns out to be quite hard though, because there seems to be an insane amount of talented regen strikers with terrible finishing attributes. Often around 11, but some even have 6-8, which just makes them unplayable up front. Edit: Played a bit more and it seems like I'm going to struggle to keep everyone happy. Two players, both youngsters that I brought in last season, have now come in and asked for insane wages (140k+ per week) that I'm not willing to pay. They are not yet influential players so telling them they are important but won't get a new contract, which usually works, doesn't keep them happy. I wish our sponsor income would have increased as well, but the new shirt sponsor deal is worth a pathetic 5m per year so we'll have to rely on TV and prize money, and the sale of star players to not make big losses.

God damn, Dirk. That's pretty impressive. I've not been playing FM recently, due to limited time outside of work and settling into a routine of GTA:Online and RDR2 to relax with, but I've found some time to go back to my first true love, too... What a time to be alive. On the bench we have the likes of Taribo West, Wayne Rooney and Fausto Rossini, alongside the regens of Paul Gascogine (Farley), Les Ferdinand (Newell) and Peter Schmeichel (Friis). Currently looking at tying up a deal for Kaka from Sao Paulo, whilst eyeing up both Eto'o and Kluivert, who's contracts expire next summer, and whether or not I can fit Hidetoshi Nakata into this side.

Cheers guys! I haven't played since winning the CL because I lost a bit of motivation, but I think I'll resume soon. Funny that you mention the NT Chaodck, it's 2026 in my save so the World Cup is going to take place, and I might apply for some jobs for big teams. Italy would certainly my first choice, so hopefully they screw up.

Hey buddy. It's the default database (well, the 3.9.68 update that came out after launch) There is a community dedicated to keeping the game up to date, so there is a current season update available, which I'm going to play soon, but I have a real nostalgic soft spot for the original.

We got another Champions League in the bag! I am 8 seasons into my save and Palermo is now the most reputable club in the world. The league has become a bit of a joke unfortunately since Juventus and Inter have been incredibly poor, Inter can't even get to the European spots anymore and Juventus has a fetish for signing players old enough to need a walking stick on crazy wages. This guy came through my youth intake in 2022 as a talented AMC, and I have retrained him this season to play as a false nine as I shifted away from my 4231 to a 451. I don't think I have ever had a guy in my team this good, let alone coming through my own ranks. He's either footed as well! As a change of pace I have taken over the job at the French national team after their World Cup failure, to have a chance to manage Mbappé. We won the Nations League quite easily and I'm excited for the European Championship next year!
