So considering the pre order thing is available on steam, and few weeks of the new season have occured, whose current stories will be the teams that could make an interesting short save or an ultimate long save.
Chinese clubs defo shouldnt have the financial muscle any more (a non european thing to start with)
I hope some new countries or new tiers are added, such as highland/lowland leagues in scotland but i wont be suprised if it all remains the same.
Anything interesting with South America @chaddock

I'm still on the fence on whether buying it right now as pre-purchase, because I'm still playing FM21, with a save that has legs for a while, and it's been hard to play this year, I've played a lot less. So yeah, new features might entice me (this season's features really were disappointing, specially the recruitment meetings), so I'll really need a strong set of features to make me buy it. On the other hand, it's not an expensive game.
Regarding your question jawzy, I wouldn't really know who to manage. La U is playing like shit again (despite being safe from relegation already), so that's always worth a shot for me and it'll depend on whether I can manage to keep producing good newgens down the road if it'll stick (I've struggled with that for the past 2 versions of the game). A Journeyman save is something I always enjoy and haven't done in a while. But finding a small club and leading them through divisions is always super fun for me, so I might go that way. France is a decent shout as I haven't played there for a while and PSG is surely a giant to aim for defeating.
South American teams? Ecuadoran sides have been making noise in continental competitions for a while now, with Independiente del Valle, Liga de Quito and Barcelona being the top two (Barcelona made it to the Libertadores Semifinals this year and in 2017 meanwhile Independiente won the Copa Sudamericana on 2019 and got to the Libertadores Final in 2016), Bragantino in Brazil is decent for a short shout as they're backed by Red Bull, Chapecoense seems like a nice save as well, who after the tragedy of 2016 have been inconsistent and won the Serie B in 2020, only to be dead last in the Brasileirao this season so far and seemingly going back to Serie B. Colombia always produces good newgens as does Uruguay, so a midtable club from there might be interesting as well.

Question is will La U shitness transfer to the game or will reputation litterally trump performances.
Oddly i feel a desire to play more at the moment, helps that fans seem back in numbers in UK and some parts of europe.

Normally what I do is edit the overrated players myself haha.

I'm on the fence about FM22. I'm not feeling anything close to excitement as yet, as I just feel each edition is getting more and more overly complicated with a "you must do x, y and z to win, the slightest mistake and you're fucked".
I keep finding myself going back to CM01/02 for some simple, football management fun.
I'll almost definitely buy it, because I'm a mug, but I really don't know at the moment.

I'll probably try out the beta with a falling giant like Arsenal or Barcelona, or just a fun young time like Dortmund or Real Sociedad. Hopefully there are no massive bugs when the actual game comes out, and then I intend to do a proper long term journey man save, something I've never really done before. Usually I stick to 1 team and get bored after a few seasons, the most I've played in one save is about 8/9 seasons.
I'll start without any coaching badges, and I'm currently thinking Iceland will be my first destination, but that could very well change over the next 5 weeks.

Any of you lads played the beta?
It's ok until you realize you can't keep hold of possession, headers are insanely OP, corners are once again broken, central play is broken etc.
All of those have been acknowledged as issues but I don't have high hopes of SI actually fixing it all, not before January at least.

I'm enjoying my current beta save with Krasnodar. Definitely seeing some of the issues above, although we're keeping possession really well. Long shots are another that are broken. I do think some, if not all of these will be fixed with the first post beta patch, but then I'm an optimist

Ugh I just noticed almost all teams in Iceland share their U19's with another team. Does anyone have any experience with that? That seems pretty annoying to me...

As the full version of the game is now 4GB my laptop will probably struggle to run it so therefore I'm going back to playing the mobile version. This year is the first time in the mobile series where newgens will have faces. Makes the game so much better.
As for who I'm going to manage. Melbourne Victory. They are on a downward spiral in real life and I like the idea of turning their fortunes around and challenge for the Asian Champions League.

Two separate clubs have the same U19 side? Yes, I'm not entirely sure how it works but it seems like these U19 sides are separate entities, and all their players are basically on loan from the main teams. Teams don't even have an U19 side. There are a few exceptions, like Vikungur, but this seems really annoying. I might just edit this for the team I want to be, or start in another small league, but wouldn't know where.

I do not like that. I already hate playing in leagues where teams have B or even C teams, as well as reserves or u19's etc, so this would make me go nuts!

Yeah this is awful, you can't even seem to set training for the U19's. If I do go for a save in Iceland I'll make sure to kick the other team out and have my own U19's. All these B and C teams like in Spain that function as some kind of separate club drive me crazy as well!

I'mma cave in and buy it. Don't know what i'll do to start with. I've had a ton of fun in FM 20 and 21 starting with lower league clubs in a big european league and growing while restricting me to buy youngish players. Italy, Spain and France seem like good shouts (recently did England and the Netherlands, and Germany is too easy with big big money and no foreign rules whatsoever), but I'm open to other reccomendations.
