Norway October 2021 WCQ UpdateThe second international date came in October and we surely had it easier, going to Latvia and Montenegro. Thing is we really weren't at our top level, in the first game at Latvia, we scored two goals in quick succession in the first half, via Joshua King and Erling Haaland, but we let off in the second half and allowed Latvia to score at '65 and tie the game at '89. A 2-2 draw meant we couldn't take advantage of Turkey and the Netherlands drawing on their game, and things kept the same on the table. Next game was against Montenegro, and again we had a great start to the game with quick goals from Haaland and Fredrik Midtsjø, but complacency hit us again and we let Montenegro score at '32 and '40. Fortunately we could snap out of it and after a stern telling off at halftime and a bit of tactical tweaking we managed to win 4-2 with the other goals coming from Alexander Sørloth and Martin Ødegaard. Both Turkey and the Netherlands won their games and thus, things stayed the same again. We face Turkey at home now, and with a draw there we secure the Playoffs, which is my objective (the FA wanted to "attempt to be competitive" which has been achieved already). Then, the last game at the Netherlands will define whether we go directly into the World Cup or if we have to face the Playoffs. Nothing much to report in the club side of things, we're amid a title fight, leading the league a point ahead Vålerenga and two over Bodø/Glimt. We lost our first UECL game, and won the second the group is super tight and anyone can beat anyone. We lost the semifinal of the Cup against Bodø/Glimt, which didn't please The Board much.

Good to see some nice saves going on here! I completed the second season in Iceland a while ago, but haven't had the time to post about it. The step up didn't seem to be that big, which is also clear from the fact KR won the league and cup last season and spent all of this season in 12th place. It took 3 penalty shoot-outs, but we also got our hands our first real silverware! We'll be playing in the Conference League next year, hopefully we can survive some qualifying rounds to make a bit of money.

A third consecutive league title, you say? Don't mind if I do. 41 goals from Kwang? 35 goals from Ibrahimi at right wing? Don't mind if I do. Both players wanted by other clubs in better leagues? Well, fuck.

dalenichol fantasticccc second season there mate!!! Hope you can build upon what you've started and evade your classic tricky third seasons. Counting on you! hokster that's a great intake there mate. I haven't even received that news item yet and I'm in August in a calendar year season. I'm starting to get scared. I've just finished the first three-game international date, I'll do a quick Norway update right now. I'm not sure how much further you've gotten, chaodck , but I got that preview in October, as our intake is in January despite our calendar-year schedule.

Molde FK 2021 Season ReportSo, December came quickly and we've already finished our first season in the cold north. It was a fantastic season I really enjoyed it a lot and there's still a TON of room to improve. The second half of the season was much, much better than the first and we ended up checking all of our boxes, surpassing expectations and playing great football. In the League, we started off the second half of the season with a nice 5 game win streak, ended abruptly by Bodø/Glimt who beat us easily. We then had another nice run, with 5 wins and 2 draws which put us up in the table as Vålerenga shat the bed and had a woeful 2nd semester. With 5 games to go, we held a nice comfortable lead over both teams, and the title race looked like this: We held on and even grew our lead, as with 2 games to go we had a 6 point advantage over Bodø/Glimt. But we managed to lose our first clinching game, as Odd who were facing relegation scored twice in the last 10 minutes to beat us 1-2 at our home. This set up a Final game against Lillestrøm where we needed only a draw to secure the title, but a loss and a win from Bodø/Glimt meant we lost it, as they had better goal difference than us. In the end we managed to win 1-0 with a key goal from Birk Risa and we were crowned Champions! Winning the League means UEFA Champions League qualification and we'll enter at the First Qualifying Round via the Champions Path, next July. But our European foray won't be our first as we're playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League, and after a rough start to the group, we managed to turn it around and secure qualification as 1st placed, meaning we skip the first knockout round (which is key as it'll be played in our pre-season, which isn't ideal). Still, making it to this round is more than a fantastic achievement, so I'm super happy. In the Cup, we only managed to get to the Semifinals and lost to Bodø/Glimt, which angered the Board. We had a great season overall, with a few key performances. We'll surely miss Omoijuanfo and his goals, but Tjaaland has been great in his limited role, specially on the UECL where he's our top scorer with 6 goals (1 goal every 51 minutes). I don't plan on upgrading the squad much, as we've I'm better off trying to build the facilities and improving from within. But, don't expect that "from within" to happen pretty much soon, as our first intake is promised to be a turd, despite our facilities being great. Finally, we did great on the finances side of things, with a treasure chest of around €18M in the bank. We still have a lot of room to grow there, specially on the sponsors front as there are a lot of deals signed for around 15-20 seasons, which end in the next 3-4 years. Most deals are crap and are the reason why we were around 14th on the division in sponsorship income (we've improved to 5th now, due to a few deals signed this offseason).

Norway 2021 Season ReportAs with the club side, the 2021 season has also ended for Norway. And boy, lemme get to it, but it was fucking GLORIOUS. I was just missing the last two games of the World Cup Qualifiers to report, so I'll get on quickly with them. We held the dominating position, with a 1 point advantage over the Netherlands and 4 points over Turkey. And we had to play them both in the last two games. First game was at home, against Turkey. It was a tight affair, with nerves all around. We started off quickly, as Haaland managed to score at '5 and I though "we're set". But then the nerves kicked in and we didn't get another clear chance all game long. Turkey didn't play well at all, but managed to tie the game at '76 after three bounces in our box. At that point I was convinced that the Playoffs were our prize, so I decided to not push much more, in order to secure the Playoffs. The Netherlands won their game, and that meant they got to the last game with a 2-point advantage over us. Both teams qualified at least for the Playoffs, and the winner of the game got directly into the World Cup, while a draw favoured the Dutch. The game started off favourable for them, and Boadu scored for them at '38, at which point I knew we were onto the Playoffs. But we played a magnificent second half and refused to give up. 17 year-old Andreas Schjelderup tied the game at '63, and ERLING FUCKING HAALAND scored yet again at '72 to put us ahead. From then on, we just managed to dominate possession outpassing the Dutch and even generating a red card for them. GET THE TICKETS TO QATAAAAARRRR!!!!!! Unbeaten year, a fantastic start to the save. Regarding player performances, there is little else to say about Haaland. At 20 he's just World-Class, scored on every game we played, and a total of 13 goals in 9 games. The best thing of it all? He's still developing. Beastly. I would also like to include on this report Andreas Schjelderup, who is only 17 years-old but after making his debut in the first real call-up he never left the squad, and scored two goals in the WCQ's including the key drawing goal against the Netherlands in the clinching game. The future is bright.

You're making some solid progress there @chadock, fair play to you. Schjelderup looks good, he hasn't progressed anywhere near as well on my save. You just gotta go win that World Cup now! I'm not sure what was happening when I last posted about my save. I'm still so out of sync with these shift changes. So, we're midway through season 4 currently. 2nd place in the table, 1 point behind Apollon Limassol, which as our city rivals you understand that I cannot allow this to continue. We got knocked out of the Champions League again, as standard, because the game decided to give us Olympiakos, who we beat, and then Besiktas before we even got a chance at a playoff. We beat Ferencvaros in the EL playoff, making it into a EL group of Olympiakos, Red Star and Spurs. We finished third, the first time we've managed to not finish bottom! Which means we've now got a Conference League knockout round match against Guimaraes to look forward to! At the club, Han Kwang-Song is continuing to fuck shit up...108 goals in 118 starts, with a few more sub appearances. He's also turned down every move that's come up for him (mostly Championship and Spanish 2nd tier). We've had a couple of youth facility upgrades, so we're now up to "good", which is nice. It's January and we still have £3m in the bank, so I feel absolutely rich at the moment! I had originally planned on trying to focus on regen signings from Africa, Asia and Central America etc but I've not even had the money to start looking...hopefully that'll change in the summer, especially if we can keep some of this european money coming in. I'm not entirely sure how much longevity the save will have though, if all the other clubs continue to be financially ruined.

Oh well then... Apollon were pretty much unstoppable, this was compounded by the fact that, like the previous two seasons before this, we completely capitulated when it came to the league split. We lost 5 of our 7 losses during the last 11 games of the season as well as 4 of our 7 draws. Not entirely sure what I can do when we're so good for 90% of the season and then just stop, for no reason, when it comes to the split. Ah well. Need to try and rebuild a little next season, although I'm not entirely sure what money I'm going to have to do that with. Song is once again attracting interest, this time from Norwich who're in the Championship playoffs. If they go up, he might be willing to leave so there's a potential big source of income there, not that I actively want to sell such a prolific scorer, but might need to!

Good season there mate. I think not winning the title will fuel your desire to continue and improve, hopefully with aims to keep progressing in Europe as well. What's the status of Cypriot football? Any chances of this becoming a C&C for instance? Keep it up!
Regarding my save, I'm just finishing the pre-season with Molde, we didn't make any big moves as the club is filled with good prospects, for instance we lost Omoijuanfo and I decided against bringing in a good striker, settling for his former backup Sigurðsson, who isn't at all good, in order to try and develop Tjaaland who will back him up to start the season. I think we lost quality in that regard, but a few of the young backups from last season will get more playing time this year and hopefully keep developing. No news regarding Norway, we've got a friendly against England in March, a real test before the World Cup come November.

It's difficult, because there's definitely truth in the idea that not winning will only make me want to win more, but at the same time the league and club aren't financially sound enough to deal with failure for too long. I've 2.6m in the bank which will be about just enough to keep us in the black this season, so I'm entirely reliant on either A) selling my better players and being able to replace them and B) having there be at least some money in the Conference League. As far as Cypriot football is concerned it's...well...it's garbage. If I keep going for long enough and we can start producing some decent regens, I'd maybe consider the job! EDIT: I am tempted to try and get the Thailand job though, Jesus H Christ..

Keep going at it mate, repacing talent in this game is fairly easy (albeit time consuming, and grindish), so keep selling and replacing.

Yeah, he's ridiculous. I just wish I'd seen him before Dortmund did He did gen in Thailand with Chonburi You're right though, it's time to pull up my big boy pants! We sold Brijan Ibrahimi for his release clause of 2.4m and I've just sold Kwang-Song to Levante for £3.5m up front, £1m in clauses and 30% of his future fee. He's my hero, but unfortunately he finally decided the time was right to go. We've now got £4m in the bank with 5 days before the window closes, so I'll need to see if there's any big business we can do before it slams shut He wasn't originally signed to be first choice, but it's time for Jose Diego to step up. He's a 6'7 man mountain who apparently can't head, but we'll get that sorted soon enough. We've qualified for our Conference League group and were seeded 2nd in a group with Lille, Sigma Olomuc and Linfield, so I expect to progress. EDIT: So, over the course of the window we sold our three best players, Ibrahimi, Song and Martin Svidersky bringing in around £10m, and we signed all of their replacements for 500k or less. (We brought in 8 players for a combined £1.8m) including Diego, Kevin Ouma (Who I'm training as a CB) and Vadims Perkons as well as non regens Antonio Zarzana and Martin Calderon from Sevilla and Cadiz respectively, who are both very good. This has meant that we've once again been able to improve youth recruitment and junior coaching, which are now both at "exceptional", we're upgrading our training facilities which are currently "average" and upgrading our youth facilities which are currently "good". All whilst keeping £8.1m in the bank and having a ECL group where we should realistically win 3-4 of our 6 games at 400k per win, so that's not bad!

Apollon learned a very valuable lesson this season. Come between us and our league title and you'll make us angry...and you wont like us when we're angry. 3 draws and a defeat in our 10 games post split actually flattered Apollon slightly, we'd won the league mathematically with about 7 or 8 games to spare anyway, we scored the most goals (78) and conceded the least (25) A really positive European campaign seen us reach the Quarter Finals of the Conference League. The 6-1 hammering of Feyenoord being a particularly high point. It's not enough to do anything major with the coefficients, we'll leapfrog Scotland into 15th and gain 1 UEL spot (previously we were CL and Conf League only), but we're not closer to the group stage guarantee with either competition. My goal remains the Champions League proper, however if we can even do well enough to drop in the EL group stages I'd be happy enough. We finish the season with £8.1m in the bank, which is huge. There may still be some european prize money to come in as well as sponsorships. We made £12m in the player sales, whilst spending £4m on replacing those players. Our only significant outlay was £2.5m on Luca De Giorgio which was potentially over the odds for the fees we expect to make in return, but we needed to replace the outgoing Aron Sanchez 4 days before the window closed. I have once again asked the board to improve youth (great) and training (average) facilities as well as junior coaching (excellent) so we'll see what happens with that, as it might cost a lot. We're progressing to a point where a stadium expansion might become a possibility at some point too, but we'll have to wait and see with that one.

Molde FK 2022 Pre-Season ReportAfter a fantastic first season in Norway with Molde I ventured into the second season, this time with a full pre-season and control over transfers. We also contended with playing the UEFA Europa Conference League Second Knockout Round in the middle of our pre-season matches. Regarding the squad and transfers I decided we didn't need much upgrade. For our current level of play we were ok, and I had a lot of faith in the fantastic prospects the club has right now. I decided to sell off a bit of the deadwood and thus shipped Kristoffer Haraldseld to Brøndby IF for €800k, Alex Crannix to Gil Vicente for €500k, Martin Ellingsen to Famalicão for €500k and Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson to Bodø/Glimt for €800k (plus €100k in clauses). We also lost our top player from last season, Ohi Omoijuanfo, who left on a free in a pre-arranged transfer to Crvena zvezda. Most of the sales were replaced within the team, and we only ended up bringing in two players, we overpaid a bit for Olav Veum who came in from Stabæk for €1.7M (plus €1.3M in clauses), but we really needed a prospect for the RB position and Veum fits perfectly while having a lot of potential and also providing cover all around the defence. Finally, almost near the season football legend Goran Pandev was offered to us, and we pried him away from Genoa for a measly €14k and a very, very nice salary as well. Surely he ain't the player he once was, but he's an improvement over Sigurðarson, and will serve as a mentor figure for our gem Albert Braut Tjaaland who will backup him. With that, our 23-man squad to kickoff the season looks like this: During the pre-season we had to play in the UEFA Europa Conference League Second Knockout Round. The draw landed us against Spartak Moscow, a tough draw but certainly affordable. We went onto Russia, and played brilliantly to came home with a 1-0 win. Unfortunately at home we couldn't replicate that fantastic performance and ended up losing 0-3 and getting knocked out of the competition. After the pre-season we kicked off the league, and we won our first 5 games, beating Lillestrøm, Sarpsborg, Vålerenga, Tromsø and Strømsgodset, behind Zakaria Labyad's fantastic play who's lead us with 4 goals. In the Cup, we managed to quickly advance two rounds, narrowly beating Gjelleråsen in the First Round and then destroying Sumadal in the Second Round with a fantastic performance by Tjaaland. We also had the youth intake happen during the start of February. Having the intake during the pre-season is surely interesting and something that makes me take it into account in the squad planning part, specially for the "B" and youth sides. Our intake wasn't as bad as it was forseen, and we ended up signing a few decent prospects. We signed all four from that list, with Haavard Rode Gregersen being the best one, followed closely by Zachariassen, Dobrolinski, and Dahl who ended up being somewhat of a bust. I also signed Daniel Fagerlie, who wasn't on the Top Talents list, but caught my eye and looks maybe like the best of the whole bunch. Regarding finances, we're on a pretty good state, with around €15M in the bank. I haven't asked for any improvements yet, around the midseason mark I plan on starting to improve the facilities. I'll quickly finish the 10 games left until reaching the mid point of the league, but I won't update again until we end up our run in the European preliminary rounds. We'll start on the UEFA Champions League as Norwegian Champions, and we'll enter on the First Qualifying Round. Regarding Norway we played a friendly against England at Wembley and lost our first game. It was a 1-2 defeat with 10 men, the goal was obviously scored by Haaland. We drew the UEFA Nations League B and got a tough group with Russia, Serbia and Israel. I was aiming to get promoted to the UNL A, but I think we're gonna have to wait for that a bit longer.

Jokes aside congratulations on what is becoming a legendary save mate, you've progressed a ton so far and this leap should keep you near that UCL/UEL groups level for a while at least. Hopefully you can pump that money into the club and keep improving.

Thank you sir!
It's been a really enjoyable save so far because we've made clear, identifiable progress. Winning the league in the first season was probably a spot of luck, but I'll take that. The good thing is we've not been completely dominant all the time. Obvious we've won 4 of 5 titles, but the one we didn't win saw us some way off the top, and once again this season we find ourselves 8 points behind an undefeated Pafos side, with a game in hand. What is even more nuts about that is that Pafos have a side of just 17 players, including 3 goalkeepers, but they've somehow been unstoppable.
Getting to the group stage was fantastic for us financially, as we now have 13m in the bank. We've upgraded our facilities so we now have Good training, Excellent youth facilities, excellent academy coaching and exceptional youth recruitment, all we need to see now is a clear improvement in the quality of regens that come to the club, because that simply hasn't happened yet, and we're running out of the pool of good Cypriot players to contribute to the home grown rules in the league, which is frustrating.
Still though, it's good going and I'm enjoying the save which is the main thing!

Im tempted to give a Caribbean nation/league a whirl when my time within south africa finishes.
Gonna guess no recomendations?
Tho i need to sim from 2024 onwards (north america cl changes format i believe) and has a Caribbean 2 groups of 5 setup. Thus giving a chance to cause an upset in knockout stages

Depends on what you're after really. Trinidad and Tobago, with Jamaica to a maybe lesser extent, are going to give you the most talent off the bat, with Haiti in a somewhat distant third. After that it's kinda just a case of take your pick.
The CONCACAF CL has always been the reason that I hated playing in that part of the world. Hopefully the restructure does something halfway decent for it.

I notice there is no prize money on the rules screen.
The na cl has never felt that great. Too many usa and Mexican teams.
But not had a serious go with a Caribbean side since fm13 had a good Caribbean championship mod.
In real life after 2013, lot of the smaller nations stopped sending a team.
Believe the competition is in fm22 and has tnt and jamaican sides in it.

Another season done and dusted and another successful one at that! Jose Diego beat Han Kwang-Song's record and scored 47 goals in all competitions. He's now considering his future at the club, which is hardly surprising now that he's doing so well. Kevin Ouma will complete his move to Liverpool after being loaned back to the club for the season. He's our cash cow, I hope. 50% future fee, so I'm really hoping his career takes off. Not sure what to expect next season, but we'll see! EDIT: And we just received the best part of £7m from Champions League revenue. Almost £20m in the bank, feels a bit excessive for Cyprus

Has uncle sam done or doing anything for north america in fm22? Had a brief look at db from qwerty2. They seem okay. But player values in jamaica seem to be 0 for majority of players. Looked at riddler jamaica db They has prize money in top flight set less than the second tier.

chaodck I played it for about 15 minutes before work and knew straight away that it wasn't right for me, so back to Cyprus it is! I'm never sure about switching teams during a save unless it's a specific journeyman save. Haaland left for Liverpool fairly early on to form a lethal strike trio with Salah and their other new signing, some lad named Kylian Mbappe..never heard of him but he's alright. They sold Reyna to Liverpool, Akanji to Madrid, Moukoko to United, Bellingham to Liverpool. Pretty much anybody good that they brought in would eventually leave. The squad was still strong enough and I had £150m to spend but it just wasn't right. No point leaving Cyprus until I've wont a European competition I guess!

Whilst I appreciate this and the feeling is absolutely mutual, of course, we both know that the Dale you know and love would've started 8 new saves before he'd even reached season 2, never mind 6, 7 or whatever it is now
