Noticed while browsing African nations/clubs to manage that this side was in the second tier in Cote d'Ivoire having won the top flight of the country 17 times last in 2011, the side find themselves in the second tier!
Brief look online, hard to see what caused the downfall. but a team that was runners up in ACL in 86 and won the cup winners cup in 1992 and 1999 shouldnt be in the second tier?
So maybe i might be able to get into this revival project.
This squad should be able to get promoted I hope!

Ha, I didn't even think that Gyan would be kicking about on the database.
Very interesting to see Africa Sport relegated, I hadn't heard of this happening but they were always formidable opponents during my spells with ASEC. I had to translate a few articles from French so the translation might not be completely accurate, but it looks like the club had some sort of internal power struggle which the Ivorian FA had to intervene with, coupled with some horrific results on the pitch. Talk of something like a "standardisation" of the club, whatever that means, seems to be getting a bit of blame, it suggest that there had been some problems at the club for as much as a decade, but the relegation was a massive shock and they were considered as potential title winners in the season they ultimately went down.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes and if it sticks!

Alot of players are on 1 year deals that are £0 per week, as I came to the end of the first season, renewing is proving a challenge as I cannot offer no more than 130 pounds per week.
One of the players had interest from DRCongo clubs and wanted 6k per week.
As for Gyan in real life in 2020 he was playing in Ghana for Legon Cities

end of season 1 I think i expected to dominate at this level, the draw and loss came against Stade Abidjan annoyingly, they seemed my bogey team! We beat Tanda to win the second tier level we were awarded 10k! There was no domestic cup competition?? Other ins these guys missed the chance to register so even though mid season signings, have not yet played for us Other outs these were out of contract and I activated a sell now deal for small fees. The youth intake was terrible with only 3 star potentials coming in, as the best players Diallo is on his way to DRC so we wont be seeing any more of him, but he was a wonderful player to watch this season, Sow is demanding a little bit to high but hopefully we can negotiate him down The board next season are wanting us to Avoid relegation from the top flight, with a view to finishing in the top half within 5 years!

I think you'll manage it fairly well. Is there any money at all in the league? What are your finances looking like?
Should be able to poach a few players from the likes of d'Abidjan if nothing else, but I imagine the pool of quality is probably fairly low in the top tier and avoiding relegation should be straightforward...I think

Yeah, you've got a good core of a squad there, some decent rated defenders and two clearly decent young strikers. In a less developed nation like this, that'll get you pretty much where you need to be for now

After a strong start we started to slip up and struggle, luckily for us as did ASEC. All in all seemed quite an easy return to the top flight, As title winners we qualify for the african champions league.
ASEC have not made it to CL group stages in previous 2 seasons
Sow once again being my top player.
Financially we made a loss after 500k was spent on upgrading our training facilities. Income was we made 200k more than last season.
with gates being our top revenue this season and merchindise being second this season
tv revenue for this top flight was just shy of 50k.

Squad still looking fairly strong, the reserves are a mix of players who signed after registeration and yth players, I do have more but these are the ones that have a transfer value

Mate, if those are reserves you need to get Sangare, Nanhi and Kouame into your first team!

Mate, if those are reserves you need to get Sangare, Nanhi and Kouame into your first team! Will do when registration reopens
- this custom database feels odd (from world megapack) - no cup - can sign players outside windows - the academy league does not play any games. - the fixture list is defauting to the next season.
Other than that its alright.
iirc Sangare is on a 2 season loan
My next save (worryingly im thinking of it, will be in Egypt or Nigeria)

Registration opened just before the opening of the season.
Some of the free signings are from various Academies across the country Amian although Ivorian had always played in Portugal
I probably overpaid for Mape but can never have too many potentially good youngsters

Sow looks like a beast jawzy . Is Kenny Athiu the former Melbourne Victory player? How's the African Champions League? Is it dominated by the same teams?

Love managing in random leagues like this, but in recent memory I've had issues with the added leagues so avoid them now. Only play these type of leagues on FM17 as never had that issue on that version.
Ivory Coast is a good league in 17 but the dates are random AF! League starts in November and ends in May, then the 2 cups are May - July.

won the league, still not running away with the league though sow still scoring, but athui proving he still can too cam top of group, but got knocked out in the quarters. Pitropa, Doumbia, NGoran and Sow want to leave for new challenges, so may move them on
