January report The month January yielded the following results for us.
I have to say our fixture program was not the easy step-up I had hoped for. There was little to no room to really experiment with the tactics, since the first few games were must-win affairs. I did tinker somewhat with the tactics. I am unhappy with the set piece routines but I left them intact. My efforts are presumably "too glitchy" so I'll leave them out of this. I did swap our CWB's with IWB's and dropped our wingers into support roles to create more balance. A late goal by Ruan sealed our win in Madrid to give us that much-needed flying start.
Our Supercopa campaign was decent as well; Atlético went down to Uduokhai and Gil goals, whereas Barcelona were unlucky when Sergi Roberto deflected a cross by Vignato past his own keeper. Still, a win's a win and we did bloody their noses straight off the bat. The team is less eager to flow forward but we are also far less likely to concede stupid goals on the break. I'm happy with that balance.
Our league campaign was uneventful. We scored a decent amount of goals, conceded two when opponents channeled their inner Maradona and slalomed through our defence. Not much hope in properly containing shit like that. A nice bit of news, Ruan gained a dual passport.
Barcelona dropped a few points, giving us a clear lead.
We did have some mutations on the transfer market.
Rodrigo Iglesias had his release fee tripped by Gijón. No big deal, as I do not think he would have made first team. I loaned away some of the youngsters, while Lukeba and Duessel were sold to bring in additional funds. Lukeba was not that good anyway and a 10 million offer for a 8.5 million value is not a bad deal, especially since Lukeba barely played for us. Duessel was bang average and a 5 million bid for a player who made three appearances as a substitute seemed like a good idea.
Newcomers... Abdallah was not my signing, so all I can say is that he's Egyptian. Fontana is a tenacious little midfielder, who can take the place of Duessel. Barns is a Dutch central defender, who seems a step up compared to Lukeba. He was not cheap but I'd say he is on the verge of becoming a senior international for the Dutch, which means his value is going to triple as well. A calculated gamble. Hlozek had an expired contract. We don't really need Hlozek but at that price, he's a steal. His value is 9 million. Worst-case scenario, he can play for Depor B and we can flip him over the summer and make a tidy profit. Call it my kind of side-hustle.

February & March report The months February and March yielded the following results for us.
In Europe, we battered the living shit out of Hertha. They put up somewhat of a fight in Berlin but came undone at Riazor. In the next round, we are facing off against PSG. If we get past the Parisians, we have to take on either Napoli or Lyon for a spot in the final. Provided we beat PSG, I can see us making that final. We are quite sturdy. Nothing flashy but very clinical.
Speaking of clinical... This was also the month of the Ruan Remontada. 17 goals in 14 appearances says the man is back with a vengeance. Esposito, a little less so. 3 goals and 4 missed penalties. I did rotate them up top but the Brazilian is simply better right now. We lost Bryan Gil due to injury so I'm experimenting with either Pérez or Diatta on that left flank but I reckon we need someone truly lethal there next season. I tried a cheeky bid on Rodrygo but Real demanded 25 million whereas we only have 20 right now. I decided to back off. Wolfsburg has a lovely Greek kid on the left flank, I reckon we should splash the cash for this fella come next summer.
Our league campaign is going quite smooth so far. It's not always clear sailing all the way but we keep getting favourable results. Our defence sometimes shuts down in terms on concentration, which means we concede stupid goals. Either that or someone dribbles past five of our guys or scores a thirty-yard screamer. Annoying but almost unstoppable. The draws were in difficult away games, where I had to rotate players to keep key players fit for European fixtures.
The title is coming back to the Riazor, lads.
Reyna and our two forwards are absolutely instrumental so far.
I can reckon I can finish up tomorrow or so.

Good to see you manage to get the best out of the team Guido. That's where I just don't have the knowledge and ability to make certain tweaks. I know what needs doing, but just know how to implement it.
I see Edjogo-Ewono has declared for Spain. Has he played for them yet?

April & May report The months April and May yielded the following results for us.
Our European is obviously the focal point of this update. It wasn't always pretty but it was pretty damn sure effective. We overcame PSG twice with the smallest margin imaginable. At the Riazor, Vignato struck a rebound home, whereas Reyna and Esposito dispatched the French side in Paris. After losing Ruan to an injury, Esposito picked the right time to shine and blasted us past Lyon at the Riazor. In the away-game Reyna stepped up. The final was a tight affair but back from injury, Ruan lead by example and shot us to a win over Liverpool.
In the league, I opted for more rotation to keep key personnel fit for our European fixtures. Some of the results are bit underwhelming but it's mostly decent results. Diatta managed to get into the starting line-up as well. The 0-0 versus Barcelona should've been lost but hey ho, we were lucky.
Quite happy with how this turned out. It's not as attacking and free-flowing as it was but it sure as shit gets the job done. Feel free to dump the changes I made to try and make our style more attractive. I'm happy with the Champions League win. Ruan deserves a fucking statue. Feed him and he will score. I'll sort the hand-over tomorrow.

Guido coming in clutch at the end! What a season from start to finish. I hold my hands up with Ruan, maybe I just didn't get the best out of him. Far more solid defensively as well, which is something I just couldn't get right. What a way to end as well, beating that lot in the Champions League final.

Handover report In terms of a handover report, I am looking to do an extensive report on the status of the team.
For the statistics fans...
Our top goalscorers...
- Ruan - 38 goals in all competitions
- Esposito - 29 goals in all competitions
- Reyna - 23 goals in all competitions
- Vignato - 18 goals in all competitions
- Uduokhai - 10 goals in all competitions
In terms of assists... - Reyna - 29 assists in all competitions
- Soares - 11 assists in all competitions
- Esposito - 11 assists in all competitions
- Sánchez - 10 assists in all competitions
- Herrero - 7 assists in all competitions
If you look at the positions of these players, it's clear that our left wingers are not contributing as much as they ought to. Vignato has had a decent season on the right but our left flank has been underwhelming, especially after Gil's injury. Based on their effectiveness, Diatta, Pérez and Gil are all in trouble. In terms of playing-time, this is our first team in a graphic. Playing-time in minutes versus their age. On the left bottom side we have the youngsters Fontana, Salva Suárez and Helier. Not a lot of minutes but they are still young. Barns gets a pass as he was signed during the winter-break, so he was available for half the season. If you double his time, he ends up at around the same level as Montero, who I never used. Meixedo as the back-up goalie also gets a pass. So who do stand out for me?
Goretzka... He's older, he's expensive and he's just not getting any playing-time. Edjogo-Ewono, Condemi and Adauto are just better options. I know the plan was to sell his ass over the summer window and I do hope we can pull off a decent sale. We can promote Kostadinov to first-team and make use of our little midfield gem. Our little wonderkid has had a decent half year for our B-side, racking up 3 assists in 8 appearances for our rather underwhelming B-side.
Worrying numbers are coming up for Montero, Pérez and Diego. Diego has lost the battle with Reyna. We can keep him around as a rotation player or we can look for a better option. Pérez is just not good enough anymore. He has had a decent amount of playing-time, as has Diatta but neither have hit double figures in goals or assists. If I combine their goals and assists into scoring points, Pérez nets 10 scoring points from 28 appearances, Diatta bags 13 scoring points from 42 appearances. Underwhelming numbers. We could promote Adam Hlozek from the B-side, where he scored 8 goals and contributed 5 assists in 12 appearances but I don't feel he's good enough. I recommend selling Hlozek. We got him for 75k, his value is somewhere around 9 million, so turning a tidy profit shouldn't be that hard.
We have one incoming arranged transfer. At right-back, Duvan Osorio is coming in. He had an expiring contract and well... I took a gamble. As for signings, we could do with a better left winger and maybe a truly world class central defender.
Go nuts.

Great graphic Guido and an interesting way of looking at the squad that I've never considered before, especially given how easy it would be to extract that data from the game.

Nice report Guido. I would agree with what you say about players such as Goretzka, Montero, Perez and even Diego. Montero is a strange one because he's an able backup, but maybe we could look at someone younger? I quite liked Helier, but I think a lot of that was because he responded very well to training and was improving quickly. In the long term, I don't think he'll be good enough to keep Reyna out of the side.
We also need to keep an eye on Jose Castano who spent the season on loan at Sporting. 20 year old wonderkid with 5* potential and plenty of room to grow. Same for Ramiro Olivares.

Deportivo La Coruña 2026-27 Season Takeover Report OverviewSorry to have taken a few days lads, but I'm here on-board and ready to roll. We surely (credit going to most others mostly as I've only signed one potentially good player haha) have formed a fantastic squad of players, with talent almost all places and ready to keep the good times rolling on La Liga and in Europe as well. I'll do a short takeover post, to assess the squad and what I want to do with it, specially as we're overspending on the wage department and there's quite a few players that could be sold in order to try either and bring in new faces or to promote and keep developing some of the terrific young players we already have on the team. We don't have much money to spend right now, but I think that'll change when I delve into the market and sell some of our backups.Squad Assesment So, when I took over, I promoted the best of our players in the "B" and U-19 sides to the senior squad to assess them alltogether. This resulted in 35 players including those out on loan. I'm gonna work with 23-25 players and I'm looking to bring in a few new faces somewhere around 3 to 5, depending on how we fare on the selling side and if there's the right player for us out there. On a first glance, I'm looking to sell around 8-9 players, while loaning out 4-5 to trim the team down. I'll detail them here and see if anyone's jimmies become rustled before taking definitive action. I'll assess the whole 35 players (plus Duván Osorio, the Colombian RB Guido bought), dividing them into tiers (as you guys who follow my posts know I love to do).The SpineOur vertebral column of key players, the untouchables who won't leave unless someone cashes out their respective minimum fee release clauses. This elite group features Gürkan Ulaş, Vítor Soares, Felix Uduokhai, Boubacar Kamara, Víctor Condemi, Adauto and Ruan. Those are our 7 key players on paper.I know that many will agree I should include Giovanni Reyna and Sebastiano Esposito here, but I won't haha (rustled jimmies already?)Top PlayersThis group of players is comprised of one of these types: Terrific players who are amazing on the pitch, but on paper could be improved or that are being underused due to us having a better starter ahead of them. You ask who's here? Well, the two that fell from above, Reyna as the former category and Esposito as the latter.I'm not actively looking to sell these guys, but if an offer comes and it's good I could let them go even if it's short of the release clause. Reyna might be harder to replace as he's a starter and arguably our best player on the pitch, but I'm not that fussed about his attributes and think we could get someone better on paper at least.Squad PlayersThe meat of the team, this are players I'm looking to keep for 2026-27 as solid starters or rotation options and are kept due to them helping with registration as well. This group has Francisco Meixedo, Pablo Sánchez, Toni Herrero, Emanuel Vignato and Bryan Gil.There are other squad players that fall into the next category as well.ProspectsSenior squad ready players, with tons of potential who only need a small push to become real alternatives and fight for a starting job. Some of them will be on the senior squad, some will be sent on loan or to the B team. The ones that will remain in La Coruña are: Salva Suárez, Santiago Edjogo-Ewono, Duván Osorio, Angel Kostadinov and Mohamed Abdallah, while Ramiro Olivares, Cesareo, Helier, Diego Fontana and Jasper Hermansen will be either sent on loan to teams where they are promised to be regular starters and a club with good or better training facilities (and in Fontana's case a Spanish club to aid him in gaining the Spanish nationality). Hermansen might be the less ready player of the bunch and will most probably stay at the U-19's or the B team. Finally, there are two players that fall on a special case, Antonio José Miguez wants out he's transfer listed by request when I think he could be a nice option as an IF on both flanks so I might try and keep him and José Castaño who seems like an amazing player that will be Ruan's backup in case Esposito leaves or be sent on loan to a club with the same specs as I mentioned above.Senior Squad SummaryI've listed 18 players for the senior squad so far: Gürkan Ulaş, Vítor Soares, Felix Uduokhai, Boubacar Kamara, Víctor Condemi, Adauto, Ruan, Giovanni Reyna, Sebastiano Esposito, Francisco Meixedo, Pablo Sánchez, Toni Herrero, Emanuel Vignato, Bryan Gil, Salva Suárez, Santiago Edjogo-Ewono, Duván Osorio, Angel Kostadinov and Mohamed Abdallah. That means I'm looking for 4 players for the first team, which are in no particular order: A 3rd GK (U-19, hopefully), a 4th CB (again, U-19), a starting IF Left Winger, an IF Right Winger to fight for the starting job with Vignato. With that squad makeup, we currently have no issues with European registration, as by the time this comes we'll have the following team homegrown players: Soares, Suárez, Sánchez, Condemi, Edjogo-Ewono, Kostadinov and Ruan, plus Herrero and Bryan Gil as nation homegrown. We will have 1 Foreign spot used as well with Abdallah. So, who am I selling? After all this blah blah, this is the list I'm looking to offload.- Pablo Brea: Just isn't good enough, not even for a B team role. Will be sold at whatever price and if it fails he'll be on the B team until his contract expires.- Kendele Barns: In my view he just is worse than Salva Suárez and my 4th CB needs to be young and developable (That's not even a word!). I'll try to make a profit off of him (he signed for £8.5M), but if not, he could go on loan and I'll try to sneak a buy clause.- Javier Montero: I'll be sad to see him go as he was a key part of my first stint and I signed him on a free after that loan season. But we've outgrown him and the same reasoning that applies to Barns applies to him. He'll be sold at whatever price as well (I doubt we can get something near his £39M valuation)- Víctor Gómez: Another good rotational option, Gómez could stay if we were in trouble for registration issues, but I think Osorio will be a better choice and can become a great player in the future. I'll try to sell him for value but I'l settle for a decent offer I think.- Rodrigo Pascual: A 22 year old left back who was on loan at Lille last season. He just isn't good for us and will be sold at whatever the price.- Leon Goretzka: Our biggest problem in the squad (sorry Kova). Goretzka is 31, earns a whopping £125k per week and only played 16 games last season meaning we paid him £406.250 per game played. He's angry and the rest of the team kinda hate him, so the earlier his bags are packed, the better. He's valued at £42M, hopefully we get somewhere near that, but I'll be happy to offload his wages so I'll settle for far less.- Diego: Another one I'll be sad to see leave, he was a great part of my two stints. Abdallah is not as good as him yet, but has so much potential that I'm willing to risk it, specially as there's a lot of cover for the AM position on other positions. He'll be sold at any price.- Krépin Diatta: A useful squad player, but I'd rather keep Bryan Gil as the LW backup as he's younger and nation homegrown, not much more to explain here. I'll try and sell him for value, he could be a big price.- Carles Pérez: Another decent veteran backup, I'll replace him as I'm not 100% on board Vignato and will look for a player who could replace him on the medium term. He could fetch a big price as well. Conclusion There's my initial squad assesment lads, I think we can improve this already beautiful team, despite our small £31M transfer budget (and the fact that we're above the wage budget). If I'm successful offloading all of these players, the wage budget will be reduced in £400k per week, putting us back on the budget which is £1.87M (we're currently spending £2M).
Finally, an advice from our trusty friendly gorilla whose jimmies remain unrustled. PS: If anyone wants screenies of the players, let me know and I'll update the post with them.

Deportivo La Coruña 2026-27 Season Pre-Season Report OverviewOk, I didn't rustle any jimmies apparently (I didn't do greatly in selling those players so there's still chance I do), so I went on through and re-forged this well oiled machine we call Super Depor. There's not much to say here really except that it was a pretty busy pre-season, with lots of player movement, contract renewals and news overall. Here's on to more success!TransfersAs I said above, it was hard to sell the players I had singled out in the last post. Still I think I didn't do a bad job despite I thought it'd be easier and we'd get more money. We sold Diego to Burnley for £20M, Carles Pérez to Leicester for £20M, Víctor Gómez to Mónaco for £26M, Krepin Diatta to Atlético for £30.5M (plus £7M in fees), Francisco Meixedo to Girona for £1.5M, Javier Montero to Ajax for £20M, Rodrigo Pascual to Bordeaux for £4M, Kendale Barns to Norwich for £10M and finally Leon Goretzka to Osasuna for £10M. Out of those transfers, we're still paying some wages, £12.5k to Carles Pérez until 2028, £29.5k to Goretzka until 2027, £4.4k to Montero until 2027 and £3k to Pascual until 2027. As I said, it' could've been better, but I did fare well in my opinion and it was enough money for what I needed to do.Regarding new faces, six new players came in. First and foremost I did find a good player for our left wing in Portuguese Pedro Rego, who came in from Benfica for £42.5M (plus £10M after 40 league appearances and £2.5M if we get to the UCL Final this season), I think Rego is a fantastic player, who can improve a lot, gives us a great set piece taker and fits the system. He could do with a bit of finishing training, and I'll work him on that. On the RW I found a Brazilian wonderkid in André Luis to whom we paid his release fee of £21.5M to free him from Flamengo's clutches. Built in a similar mold to Rego, I think this kid can be spectacular if he fulfills his potential. As you saw above I sold Meixedo, this is because I was on the hunt for a young GK with high potential and in the end settled for Italian Duccio Rocchiccioli, who isn't that young but is far better than Meixedo which made him disposable. We now have a true #2 keeper and with a ton of potential to grow. I don't think he'll be anywhere near Ulaş ability, but he'll fetch a nice price down the road when he complains about not playing enough. He came from Lorient and cost us £7M (plus £5M after 40 league appearances). Finally I wasn't so lucky with the CB position as all my candidates fell short in the end either negotiations breaking down or them going to other teams, which led me to cash the clause of Pedro from Espanyol for £1.1M. He's not a bad choice, but doesn't have much more potential according to our coaches, which was the idea. I'll keep scouting to see if I find anyone better. Also, I loaned Finn Rauffmann from Bayern as Duván Osorio used a Non-EU spot and I had all 3 filled with Adauto, André Luis and Abdallah, so I needed a RB. The German has some potential to grow and the loan pays him £11k per month and has a £2.5M clause if we want to buy him.I managed to loan out in great conditions most of our younger players who weren't considered for the senior squad. I'm still finding deals for Duván Osorio, Cesareo and Antonio José Miguez (who withdrew his transfer request).
NewsSeveral contracts where renewed. There were a few players with low release clauses which needed fixed and I did that, renewing Mohamed Abdallah, José Castaño, Cesareo, Diego Fontana and Salva Suárez. Most of them are on decent terms. Also I had to forcefully renew the contracts of Adauto and Giovanni Reyna. The first due to him requesting it and Reyna because Tottenham offered for him, I negotiated with the Release Fee and they didn't pursue and Reyna was pissed. These are expensive contracts I was a bit backed down onto a corner and I ended up accepting them rather than risk upsetting the players (and their friends). Also as a "funny" piece of news I ripped Goretzka anew on a press conference where they asked if we'd miss his captaincy.Pre-SeasonThere were a few China friendlies in place when I booted the save and I decided to forgo of them in order to push a more aggressive pre-season training to which the travelling is quite a problem. I did a heavy physical week for the first week, then a half physical, half technical week with one game, then two two-game weeks with more focused training. We played some good teams and had good results. UEFA Super CupIn a fantastic team effort we managed the European Super Cup, beating Tottenham 3-0. After the good performance from Rego in the pre-season he debuted officially with two assists from set pieces, as we scored 2 corner goals and 1 indirect free kick goal.Final Words- We are in a good spot financially with £148M in the bank account. - The transfer budget stands at £43.5M and we still have around £300k per week left on the wage budget. - I updated the set piece routines for the tactic I'll use and proved to be great in the Super Cup game. I plan on taking a look at the staff during my stint to see if we can improve it and also see if there's something to improve on the facilities side.
Wish me luck mates!

Great read guys. Curious question - because he's amazing - what's your general approach collectively with Kostadinov? Cheers Jon, great you're enjoying mate. Kostadinov will be on the senior squad for this season, as the 4th central mid and thus will also rotate with the B side when available. I plan on playing him in the Cup and also on some lower rated La Liga games to give him experience. There's a great left winger at Wolfsburg, Greek-German kid He was too much of a true winger for what I was looking as I wanted an inside forward. Still he was too expensive for us I'd think. Sweet stuff so far. Are you going to sell Hlozek as well? He's on the transfer list but to no avail. I'll try and make a move for him before the deadline. That's hell of a squad make over. Hopefully they all come good, a lot of raw talent in the squad now. Yeah, some big changes, but for good mate, have faith. Today's my Ma' birthday and thus I won't play much. Maybe I get a month done late and have an update either late tonight or early tomorrow.
