I only loaded the leagues of the continent I wanted to start in, which was about 6 oceanic nations and Australia. I've slowly added more leagues when I've wanted to move continents, whilst removing the leagues that I knew I'd never go back to, but obviously once you start doing that, the game has to generate players etc, and those players can't just magically disappear when you remove the league from the game. The game seems to have a hard time with this though, for example a bunch of the players at Man City who're earning upwards of £1m p/w were just generated when I added England a year or so ago. As far as custom leagues go, as long as the xml is present when you create the save, you can load that league at any point. xml present within the editor data file at the start of save? oooh, i might have to give a jman style game a go. I will probably have to start with smallest database possible, otherwise this laptop may spiral out of control in 20 seasons time? Yeah, so as long as the custom league xmls are present and loaded when you start the game (you know the bit where you select the database?) then you're fine. But yeah, I started with the default large database. I'd recommend, if you're starting small, that you still add a couple of the key "goal" leagues, like the big 5 European leagues, just to keep the game working as expected and to have some potential for shocks and interesting happenings. Getting to 2037 and having all the big leagues pretty much the same teams in it is a bit 'meh'.

If/when I do this again, that'll be the plan, stick to a region. (Obviously you're not thinking of Oceania, but just remember that the OFC CL is bugged)

After almost getting sacked less than 3 months after taking over, I'm finally starting to win the board round! (We won 6 of our first 7 games but then lost 4 on the bounce and that almost made the board sack me, the bastards!) I know it's only the State Championships, but it's a trophy to add to the cabinet!

2021/22 I have decided to give a go in France and the team unlucky enough to suffer from my management is FC Lorient not a big team in France but in Ligue 1. The board expected us to avoid a relegation battle. I felt that we had a decent enough squad to do that. One of the issues was that there is no budget for wages really so I was not able to add too much in way of depth to the squad. Joao Rojas was a deal I did manage to get over the line he came in on a free to add some depth to the wings. The only other to join all year was Wesley Lautoa another on a free to add some depth at the back and in Defensive Midfield as cover as well. A lot of the seals done were players I had no say in nor would I have maybe purchased. I did manage to get rid of some deadwood though as we have a huge amount of players that I dont think will ever make it here so to find them a home was great. I began the season playing a fairly cautious 4132 in a tikki taka style. It became apparent early on that we were better than a team that could expect only to avoid a relegation battle. At the turn of the year we had not fallen out of the top 6. We were not good enough to challenge for a title or Champions League spot but we did keep enough form to finish 6th although it was so close to 5th. The French Cup was not something we looked too good in. We did manage to win a couple of games but we were out. Julien Laporte was incredible at the back this year for us, alongside Moritz Jenz the centre back pairing were a real key to the way we played. They won the ball and then played it and it was how we built. All going forward to Terem Moffi who was an excellent striker for us, he scored a decent amount of goals and was it not for the AFCON no doubt would have scored more. Next year we have earnt European Football albeit the Conference League but European football none the less. I have already agreed a couple of deals for players to come in and will be hoping to do more. The one thing about this squad is that its a little old, I need to add some more youngsters this squad.

So our first full season in Brazil is in the books, let me show you how it went: Starting with the big one, we managed to secure a 6th place finish, qualifying for next seasons Copa Libertadores, which is pretty great. When I joined last season we were 15th and I managed to finish 13th, almost losing the job in the process, so this is a nice wee boost. You tend to forget the strength in depth that this league has, so there was a lot of yo-yoing and beating one team, losing to the next. I'm happy it's over, I'll put it that way. 38 games for the league, with all the other competitions, is a bit of a slog! We lost in the Brazilian Cup semi final to eventual third place finishers and cup winners Gremio, who were one of those clubs we just couldn't beat this season. We followed that up with another really solid showing in the Copa Sudamericana, where we reached the semi final losing to, you guessed it, Gremio! Bastards, the lot of them. Some pretty pleasing performances across the season, particularly from Jhonatan Tapia who scored 40 goals in 50 appearances. Stars from last seasons intake have already started to break into the first team in the shape of Batata and Alexandre Luiz and we're starting to look pretty healthy across the board, despite selling over £30m worth of players. A £50m bank balance and support from the board going into next season puts us in a solid position. My new club president has put in bids for two players, something I haven't seen before, as part of his 'election promises', so we might be adding Matias Ocano and Alex Flores to the club, but I'd prefer if we spent the money on Brazilian players, even if it meant paying the domestic premium. So yeah, that's the season. As always, I'll keep an eye on the job market to see what comes up, but I'm more than happy to stay here for another season if I need to. Interestingly, as I've been mentioning in other posts, Man City and Liverpool have some massive financial trouble. City are 4th in the Prem (It's December) with a 20 man squad and £80m in debt. Liverpool are £200m in the red, have been deducted 9 points for going into administration and sit 13th in the league. It'll be interesting to see if they sell any players in January, but I think the crippling wage demands are what's stopping them. Going to be in interesting summer if either financial position worsens. If there's anything anyone wants to see, just let me know. It's almost 2038 now, so most real players are either retired or very, very close to it.

2022/23I messed up a little last season doing the report before the last game of the season which we won. This saw us finish 5th and into the Europa League. Before the season started I went shopping. I will show you all the players I bought throughout the season now just for ease. A few players left at the start of the season and throughout our season including our two signings from last year, our top goalscorer and our first choice keeper. Along with these most of the players who were on loan last year also left us. Strahinja Erakovic - joined for £5mil from Red Star, he became our first choice left back and an option in the middle of defence, he played really well all year. Matias Arezo - joined in January to replace our first choice striker leaving and hit the ground running. I think he will be leaving in the near future though as big clubs will want him Nemanja Motika - from Red Star for just over £2mil an option down either wing, was a first choice at the start of the year but suffered a big injury and was sidelined for a large part of the season Victor Chust - the first of our signings from Real Madrid, joined as a cheap back up option at the back for us. Janik Haberer - a player who has a ton of experience and can play in multiple spots in the midfield and attacking midfield spots. Overpaying on wages and maybe one who will leave next year Bruno Costa - a super player who joins us from Porto, he is a bit of a creative force for us and quickly became one of my better players. Diego Altube - our second player from Real Madrid joined us on a free, he became our first choice this year. Riccardo Capellini - joined from Juventus, can play in three seperate spots for us and has done throughout numerous points of the year for just over a half a million an absolute steal. With all our new players who did not start in an amazing fashion in the league and found ourselves just outside the relegation zone just before the World Cup Break. The break did us good as we managed to gel a little bit more as the season wore on and managed a superb run to snatch a European spot towards the end of the year. We matched our finish from last year. In the Cup we managed to get into the quarter finals after beating Clermont and Rennes to get there. We then faced PSG and a 1-0 loss was a decent enough result but it saw us exit. The real story for us was Europe this year. We entered the Europa League in the Group Stage. We managed to wins over Ukrainians Zoya. We beat and drew against Celtic and shared victories over Braga. This put us into the Second Knockout round where a 3-1 win over Ajax saw us into the quarter finals. We faced the German Borussia Mochengladbach a 2-2 draw away and a 1-0 win at home got us a semi final spot. We would face Arsenal. We lost 4-2 away from home before a 1-0 win at home. This put us out but a semi final spot was amazing for us. Moritz Jens once again was a star in our team as he out performed any player in our team. Julien Ponceau was on loan last year at Nimes he had impressed me so I decided to give him a spot in the first team this year and he really won it. He was amazing all year round. I think next year I am going to try and crack that top 4 spot and hopefully even a Champions League spot. I have agreed one deal for the summer and I am hoping I will have another tied up soon. We need to fill a couple of spots with more quality as well.

Looking good there, ashton430Meanwhile in Brazil, we have completed the signing of two highly sought after young talents.. Had to be done, didn't it? Rodrygo is retiring in 6 months time, both of them are still brilliant for their ages. We also signed another 5 players. I'm still looking at potential new jobs, but the club is in a decent place.

Great progress there dalenichol and ashton430. Glad to see you bringing in some experienced talent, eager to see them in action! Regarding my game, I haven't played much, but if I say the first two months of the season have been amazing, it's an understatment. Unbeaten, 10 wins, 2 draws, 26 goals for, 3 goals against, atop the league and tied with Valencia atop the UEL Group. Fantastic.

2023/24It was another busy summer for us as we needed new recruits and given some of the players that left they needed to be replaced as well. Enzo Le Fee was not a player that I was looking at letting go but for the money offered I was happy enough to see him go. Igor Silva joined him at Watford in January he was not a player I was playing much so getting a bit of cash was good. Now for the two big players leaving Nemanja Motika wanted to go to a bigger club as soon as Chelsea came sniffing, I got 4 times the amount we paid and 30% sell on and I got him on loan for two years so I think a bit of a decent deal. Moritz Jens has been unreal for me in the time I have been here but for £33.5 million I am winning that deal. Drazen Scrbec - joined in January as a decent young keeper, he went on loan straight away Kevin Lomonaco - a very good Defender who joined in the summer, Man City where interested so I jumped and snapped him up Takuhiro Nakai - another summer signing for just under £3million from Real Madrid, a bit of a steal for us he has been very good this year Xavi Simons - signed as an option in the middle of the park, but played more than I thought he would do, he was very good and will only improve Abdoulaye Kamara - joined on a free, I thought he may have played a couple of games for me but when he did he didnt impress so he went on loan, one for the future Remy Vita - joined for not a lot from Bayern Munich, made the left back spot his own Oliver Aertssen - panic buy, joined when Jenz left and I needed a new defender and he came up. I overpaid for him but he may turn decent Vanderson - did not play nearly enough for Monaco and I got him in here in January. An excellent player Inigo Arrizabalaga - a good prospect who joined and then went out on loan Kamaldeen Sulemana - joined in January to add some depth out on the wings and played well when he did play It was a very good season for us as we got a Champions League spot. In fairness we were pretty consistent all year. We did suffer a couple of big defeats to PSG and Monaco but we held our own against most of the other teams in the league. We did very well in the middle of the season and soon found ourselves in a little bit of a breakaway group. There was a chance that we may have gotten a title shot but in the end we did not manage but I would have taken 3rd at the start of the year so I am happy enough. In Europe we had an immensely difficult Europa League Group and despite two wins over Brondy and a draw against Man United it was not enough to see us through and we found ourselves in 3rd and in the Conference League. We got the Semi Finals of that with ease with wins over Midtjylland, Vitesse and AZ. We played Frankfurt in the semis and 1-0 away loss and a 2-2 draw at home saw us out. I would say the French Cup was the biggest disappointment as we went out to a Second Division side in the 1/4 Final. Bruno Costa was again tremendous for us and played a little more down the left wing this side but excellent non the less. Matias Arezo scored for fun, bigger teams are starting to take notice as well so I would not be surprised to see him leave in the summer. I am not planning on going mad with the Ins next year, I have a couple of Defenders lined up in the summer but other than that I cant see much business being done.

That's a really solid season, buddy. Well played. I've had Arezo a few times on different saves and he's always prolific, so glad to see he's going well for you. I know Mortiz Jenz has just signed for Celtic in real life, so I hope he's much better in FM than he is in real life My save is shelved for now, too much of an issue with processing times and I'm crashing once every two months or so. I've started a save with Nordsjaelland in Denmark, having just finished my first season. They've got a ridiculously good, young team

2024/25Another season here and as I said I was not as busy mainly buying players for depth and youngsters that could help. A few players left the squad that I was not playing too much and getting some cash in for them was great. A few boys went out on loan to get game time. The one that went that I didnt want to go was Vita he was moaning about a new deal, but when one was offered he wanted too much so I let him go. Lukas Lang - came in and went out on loan again, he maybe good in a couple of years Joelton Francisco - another to come in and go out on loan, he will play for me I think he maybe in the discussion next year for a spot Joris Chotard - the big summer spend, I needed a new Defensive Midfielder and he fitted the role perfectly Claudio Ramos - my older keeper retired in the summer so I needed a back up as I wanted to send the young Croat out on loan again, this is my new back up Stephen Jones - joined on a free from Real Madrid. He is Spanish with no other nationalities so he also has an amazing name Johnathan Thompson - I signed him 2 years ago but only no he joins, at his age to have more than 80 games in the Championship is amazing. I really like this guy Firstly the French Cup, it was a bit of a let down really. We beat two sides in the lower leagues before being knocked out by Nice on pens. I was gutted as I felt this would have been a great chance for my first piece of silverware here. We made our debut in the Champions League this year and first up was Sturm Graz. In a fairly easy pair of games we went through. Next up was Benfica we drew 2-2 at home and won 1-0 away from home to put us into the group stage. We lost twice against Inter, picked a point up against Barcelona and shared wins with Leverkusen this saw us finish 4th and out. In fairness it was a ridiculous group and the experience was good. In the league we were close we were top of the league for a long time, but then we hit March and lost a couple of unexpected games and dropped points to the teams around us and that let PSG catch us up and they won the title. I am gutted as I thought for a long time we may actually do it. Matias Arezo was unreal again I dont know how he keeps doing it but he does. He has 2 years left on his deal so unless someone pays mega bucks he is staying for another year. Bruno Costa my favourite player in this save so far, he is immense, I would say he is over performing his level but I have a huge man crush on him at this stage. Next season I think if I can finish closer to PSG I would be pleased I would also like to get closer in the cup as well. Europe is a bit of a who knows as it depends on the group we get drawn in. Transfer wise I think a new left winger maybe needed and I am looking to bring a couple of youth players into the first team set up so again I dont see massive moves

2025/26This summer will be known as the one where I started the rebuild. Arezo has been asking to leave for a couple of years now, he had two years left on his deal and I felt like now maybe a good time to cash in. I am surprised where he had gone but the money is nice. Erakovic and Vanderson both wanted to leave for bigger clubs, I made a good profit on both of them as well. I didnt want to let Lomonaco go but the money was a lot as I did not think he was worth that much. Lang left again he was moaning when I rejected the first offer so off he went although he did come back on loan. Finally the other big name to go was Altube my first choice keeper, he didnt want to be a back up as I was going to let my young Croat take the gloves. Welker - joined in January and became our first choice striker Gaston Morales - a very good left winger who came in January, he was an excellent little pick up Alejandro Sepulveda - a bit of Chilean grit in the middle of the park Mauricio Gonzalez - a young Uruguayan who joined and then went out on loan, I will get him another loan deal next year Filip Stevanovic - signing from City to add some depth on the wings for us Romeo Lavia - another City signing, he will add some depth in the middle of the park Bright Arrey-Mbi - a depth signing on a free from Bayern We started off the season with the Trophee Des Champions the French Charity Shield we lost to PSG. We did really well in the league I was amazed at how well we did considering the team heart was ripped out. We managed to get enough points to secure Champions League football but we did not get closer to the leaders. This year rather than the attack being the best part of the team it was the defence, 3rd all in all is a good finish. We actually won something we won the French Cup. A non league side was beaten first, we then beat Rennes, Nice and Dijon. To get into the semi final where we just about managed to get past PSG and a final. We played Marseille in the final and won, just. In Europe we started off in the group stage of the Champions League. We were beaten twice by Liverpool and Real Madrid. Before drawing and winning against Shakhtar this was enough to see us into 3rd and the Europa League. First up we faced Besiktas who we smashed in both legs. We then beat and drew against AC Milan. This put us into the 1/4 final where we got beaten twice by Koln. This year most of the team played well especially the Defence. Drazen Scrbec played amazingly after being given the first choice keeper role this year. The star of the show was Johnathan Thompson he was unreal this year

So I have finished my Loirent save for the time being, my board let two of my best players go for fees far below what they were worth. I had treated that save much like a BETA save as I have not played FM much this year so now I think I have got to grips of the game I have decided to do something a little more long term Beijing Institute of Technology are a club in China that are not the best and really struggle financially to compete with some of the bigger teams in China. We dont have any money so we are going to see how we go. The aim here is to win the Champions League but I also want to create a Chinese player that becomes one of the best in the world. Transfers - not a huge amount of business was done here as we can only do free transfers it was just about improving the squad slowly. We did amazingly well this year. We managed to fight for one of the promotion places all year long. We never really troubled the top spots as those teams were so much better than us. We did look for a long time that we could go for the play offs but it was not to be, in the second to last game we lost against the eventual league champions and that dropped us out of the playoffs, despite a win in the last game We had an short but interesting time in the Cup we battered a team from a league below us, before being drawn against one of the best teams in all of China. We put a very good fight but in the end went out 1-0. Zhong Jiyu - had a tremendous year for us. I would love to keep him but he is presently refusing a new deal Wang Si - maybe the surprise of the season. Operated mainly as one of the strikers and scored for fun Wang Zihoa - another one of the players who is refusing to sign a new deal bit too good to be at our team We have made nearly £4.5 million pounds this year mainly from something called investments which I am not sure what they are but they are more than welcome. We have improved Junior Coaching and Recruitment and have also agreed to redo the Youth Facilities. We will also turn Pro in the winter which is great for the club.

Going into the season the main aim was just to improve the squad on what we had last year. Transfers - players left and we replaced with boys of much better quality, including our first foreign player a Brazilian Striker who did not really do a whole lot for us this year. We started off the Cup campaign with a game against a team at our level. It was an end to end battle but eventually we won the tie on pens. We then battered a Premier League team, albeit a side at the bottom end of the table. We then went on to loose against one of the better teams in China. We were amazing this year. We started off with 6 wins and 3 draws in our first nine games. It was game 10 we lost but by this stage we were at the right end of the table. We had a little bit of a poor run here where we only won 1 of our next 5 games, but soon stopped this rot with 6 wins on the bounce. We ended up with a few draws and not a whole lot of wins but we were not really getting beaten. We soon turned those draws to wins and found ourselves at the top end of the league. We had enough and won the title on the last day of the year. Che Shiwei - played very well from down the left hand side for us. He came in this year and was excellent Zhong Jiyu - still not signed a new deal and played all year with no contract, no we have been promoted I think he will sign Zhou Jiahao - joined in the break and was superb when he played at the back or when he was up top

2023Transfers - we managed to get a load of youngsters out on loan and we even got some fees for them which is good. I went out of China for some of singings, including an incredible Brazilian Striker and a guy from Notts County We did not hit the ground running in this league. We lost our first game of the season before winning one of our next five games. It was time to get back to the drawing board a little bit with the tactics. One of the centre midfielders came out a defensive midfield player came in. As we went on a great run of nine games winning straight. Towards the end of the season we kept the wins up and lost a couple but it was enough to see us in 3rd spot. I am amazed that we got to third but I think the free signings we have done have worked wonders. The cup was the fun part of the year for us. We beat a non league side first up. We then smashed a team from our league. QD FC had been relegated last year and won promotion this year but we won against them. This put us in the semi finals against a poor Super League side. We then battered Heb FC in the final. I think this puts us into the Champions League next year with our League finish. An amazing performance. Zhong Jiyu - continues to be great and has even signed a new deal with us now. Zhang Lingfeng - joined on a free from a First Division team, loads of experience was even at Sporting in Portugal once. Lucas Gabriel - was not that impressed with my Brazilin forward from last year so I replaced him. What a replacement he was unreal for me.

2024Transfers - once again it was a few loanees to go out for a little bit of Zhang Natian money which is good. Players that came in help the club now. Only one player left for money. Chen Binbin - joined as an option on the wing for us Liu Zhen - joined with intention of being in first team but was soon displaced and went out on loan. An option in the future Cao Zheng - our second choice keeper Michel Silvera - a great defender who becomes one of the first names on the team sheet Zhang Natian - our new left back, he will only get better Park Ki Sung - a great little pick up for us, has performed really well all year round Going into next year I think I need to bring in some new Chinese players but given the restrictions you do have to pay for them though. I need potentially a keeper and some help at the back. We had an interesting cup campaign. We lost the Super Cup in the first game of the season in what was a very close game. In the cup we did really well and when we beat SH Port I thought we would get all the way to the final. In the end it was our cross city rivals who beat us in the semi finals. We had a really tough group and one that I did not hold much hope of getting through. We did well against the weaker opponent getting 4 points of the Thai team. Seoul were much tougher as we only managed a point against them and a split of wins with Antlers. In the end it was a decent campaign but a tough one. We did not have the same quality as last year. I was hoping to push on but some of the clubs who we beat last year got a lot better and took points off us. The biggest result of the year was the last game of the season where we beat our rivals Beijing to stop them from winning the title. I think the 4th spot maybe enough to get us into Champions League. Yao Junsheng - played incredibly well all year and was one of the backbones of our team. Lucas Gabriel - another great year from the main man up top. Became our all time leading scorer.

2025Transfers - usual amount of loans left the club although this time I did not manage to get fees on them all. On the in we focused on bringing in some Chinese players. Wei Zhen - joined on a free part way through the year. An excellent centre back Feng Donsheng - potentially the best Chinese prospect in the world. Somehow he joined on a free, he has just broken his leg so I am hoping that it does not effect him too much Chen Yi - joined from a Portuguese team, an amazing capture for us as he has loads of experience. Yang Shiyuan - a great right back who was needed did very well for us this year. An incredible season for us. We started off in an awful fashion and at one stage looked like we may even be in a relegation scrap, we soon turned it around and found ourselves shooting up the table. We managed to win our last game which just secured us a Champions League spot for the second tie in our history. We had a bit of a tough route in the Cup. We smashed a non league side before beating two Super League sides. It was then back to face our old rivals and for the second year on the spin, we lost to them in the semi finals. Park Ki Sung - was instrumental for us this year. He performed out of his skin in most games. Lucas Gabriel - once again the legend continues his goalscoring form.
