Today I climbed my first Munro, Ben Chonzie. To anybody not from Scotland, a Munro is any mountain higher than 3000 feet or 914 metres. It was amazing and part of a 16 mile hike, which for a big fat, unfit 18 stone me, was a ridiculous achievement. However, and there is a reason for this humblebrag, I got home, played a few days of FM and got this message: So that's probably the highlight of my day, tbh. (obligatory summit pic)

jawzy I think I'll inevitably do more, I'm just not sure when the next one will be. I need to get fitter. I'm going to the gym and trying to lose weight. Being overweight and asthmatic is not a good combo for doing munros, especially when I found today difficult and it's considered one of the easiest out of all 282. So I'd be tempted to do some of the ones that are easier still, but it's going to be a while before I think I'm ready to tackle any that are considered more difficult, even moderately so, unfortunately. But then again, we did have a 4 mile walk just to reach the mountain because neither of us drive, so maybe I'd have found it easier without that!

Does anyone know of any good league packs for FM21? I'm thinking of giving it another go, but at the moment I'm thinking the amateur/semi-pro leagues in Italy again.

I use this for the sheer number of leagues it involves: www.passion4fm.com/fm21-around-the-globe-league-megapack-by-davetheeditor/You might want to try an Italian fm forum to get the italian lower leagues in a file, however you need to bear in mind just how massive the lower tiers, as there's 9 leagues in Serie D and 28 in the Eccelenza...apologies if you already knew this, but it's going to make your processing times pretty substanial, especially if you're loading any other nations. You're looking at 40 plus divisions just having italy to tier 5

Good point - I think that's why I stuck with Serie D only in FM20...

Well you got all autumn and winter to prepare your fitness, for the attack of he munros I dont drive either, so I need wonderful locations within bus/train/ferry/walking to base routes. Im still getting used to the daily urban walks of uphill and downhill, my knees will hate me for this lifechoice later in life (maybe)

We passed two or three different signposted walking routes and natures trails on our way yesterday that we've earmarked for wee trips in the future.

Am on the southern side of the Clyde, so im abit obstructed by the water though i know theres passenger ferries over to Dunoon. Also compared to what i used to pay in England for a 15 minute train journey to work. i can get all way into glasgow and back out again to Balloch/Helensburgh/Ardrossan. Having locals moan about how expensive scotrail, feels nutty to me!
One thing ive never really ever used in this area in all my visits is the Bus though, but i defo see plenty of busses floating aroud up here!

After my last post we had a horrible run of fixtures; taking on Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool in a row. We lost every game, scoring once and conceding quite a few! We lost to West Ham before that as well to make it 5 defeats in a row and fall into the relegation places. Was expecting to lose 6 games in a row as we took on 4th place Aston Villa but got a nice 1-0 win before losing to Newcastle and drawing with bottom of the league Wigan. I decided after the Wigan game to change tactic. we have only scored more than one goal a game, twice this season and haven't scored many at all, with two players topping the scoring charts with two goals. I went for a 4-1-3-2, with no wingers, I had been playing with wingers but they were constantly getting poor match ratings. My first game with the new tactic was against Bolton and we finally scored more than two goals in a game this season - going 3-0 up at half time before they scored a consolation to give us a 3-1 win, then took on Man United and narrowly lost 1-0.
Also just downloaded and installed a skin that I used when I played Football Manager 2011 back in the day, 10 + years ago and the skin is still available for download, I was pleasantly surprised.

One season down, one league title won. This is where it all goes to shit, lads! Looking at the table, you'd be forgiven for thinking we'd ran away with it, but the truth is quite different. Wacker Innsbruck lost 6 games all season...their first game and then 5 of their last 10, including 4 of their last 6. Of the 28 goals they conceded, 20 of them came in the last 12 games. We were 2nd heading into the last 12 games and they capitulated. We never managed to beat them either. So whilst there was an obvious quality gap between ourselves and the rest of the league, if Wacker hadn't done a good old fashioned bottle job, we'd not be going up this year. So it's going to be interesting next season. We played RB Salzburg in the cup quarter final and were beaten 2-0, somewhat comfortably, but they did win the Bundesliga. We play high pressure attacking football which might be our undoing, but I think we could have enough about us to stay up, so we'll see!

Fantastic first season jawzy , congratulations, you're rich now. What's the league stature right now? When I managed to qualify for the Europa League, the Premier League was streets ahead of the other leagues so I had some easy matches against big-ish teams from other big leagues, in the end it was Monaco who took us down in the semifinals. Here's rooting for a great first UEL for you as well. Shame to hear about that bad run Mikey , glad you kept your post and managed to turn things around a bit, at least tactically. Now is where the save begins dalenichol mate. What happened with the intake at the end? Any interesting newgens? I'm starting the season right now, we've been dealt a tough UCL group alongside Lyon, Leverkusen and Real Sociedad, but we managed to beat both Lyon and Leverkusen in the first two games so things are looking great. In the League, we slipped against Liverpool but we're sill near the top early on. I'll do some screenies come the winter "break".

We're sitting in 2nd at the end of March; we had a run in first, but my first-choice keeper went down with a groin strain and has 1-2 weeks out still. Since then, we've lost 3-0, drawn 1-1, and lost 2-0, so hopefully we can stabilize things until he's back. In better news, I had my first intake: Pignatiello looks promising for a no-nonsense CB, though I have my eye on Santo Caputo, who could work really nicely cutting in from the left wing. Since he's got an ok long shots base, I'm a little unhappy his free kicks are so weak, but oh well.

chaodck Hopefully! As far as intake was concerned, it wasn't as great as I'd hoped, but I did get two good prospects so all is not lost. Coincidentally, both of them are Serbian/Austrian dual nationals, which was a bit odd, but oh well. Not sure if either will truly amount to much, but we'll see! hokster Caputo looks like quite the prospect there!

Completed my first season in charge of Blackpool, ended up being more comfortable than I thought. We only spent one week in the relegation places and finished 16th, we were 14th but with 3 games remaining and survival already assured I played a bunch of reserves and youth players. I also got manager of the year what was a surprise.
Not a great start to the second season as we lost 3-1 to Bolton, who we beat twice last year both times ironically 3-1 and 4-0 to Liverpool. Next up is Chesterfield in the Carling Cup so hopefully we get a win. The chairman has gone behind my back and accepted bids for a couple players so I've lost Neal Eardley and David Vaughan. We have a small squad as it is which doesn't help and I cap myself on only signing 5 players per year so not great! I bought in; Leigh Griffiths (Wolves) Boyata (Man City) Alex Smithies (Huddersfield) Jack Robinson (Liverpool) Chris Gunter (N. Forest) I have also bought Paul Pogba for £5 million from Man United but because he's on loan at Millwall I can't have him until next year so technically it's only 5 signings.
Plenty of FM11 wonderkids that hopefully work for me. I also had a bid accepted for Lens defender Raphael Varane but our training facilities were not good enough so he rejected the contract.

So, a bit of midseason update as December has ran its course. We're doing great, leading the Premier League in a tight table, with ManU and Arsenal close behind and a step behind them Chelsea, ManC and Liverpool. We also dominated our UCL group, only losing one game, and we'll play Marseille in the Knockouts, matchup I'm fairly confident as we've beaten Lille, Monaco and Lyon in direct elimination phases in the past two seasons and we won both games against Lyon in the group phase this season. In other news, the intake as usual is projected to be shit, we've had a few decent players to come up from our academy in the past seasons, but the only one to ever make the senior squad is Sarawut Kittipornpracha. There are a couple good prospects in the youth teams. These are our top U-17 players right now: Also, we're on our way to building our new stadium, as we've filled it around 98% (25,000 capacity) for the past two seasons. Our new ground will open in June 2030 and has a 37,967 capacity, with more room for expansion I'd guess.

I'm loving this chaodck , it's great. It's really odd seeing teams that are just full of fictional players, pretty cool though. Reminds me of an old CM01/02 mod (and possibly something done with FM) where every player in the game starts as a free agent. Makes for some very interesting saves EDIT: Looks like Timo has actually made this file for FM21. That could be a shout for one last hurrah before FM22

Our first season in the Bundesliga is done and survival has been achieved. I always worry for my first and second seasons after a promotion, so to get this out of the way was pretty great. Knowing only one team goes down is also another massive benefit, as I think it's unlikely that we're going to have to worry about being the worst team in the league, but we'll see. Also, league splits should, especially ones that do the whole "50% of points carried over" nonsense should be considered a violation of the Geneva Convention. There isn't much else to touch on this season. We ended the season £1.1m in the red, which sucks, but will likely be a common feature here until we either get into Europe or find some players that are going to be sellable assets, neither of which are really happening just now, so we're just going to need to get used to it. Improving our attendances from their current 6-8k in a 32k capacity stadium will help, as will hopefully some improved sponsorship money, but I think we'll largely be relying on loans and free transfers for the next little while. Intake was hot garbage this season, but at least Bojan Jovanov continues to improve and he might see some minutes next season That's really about it though, let's hope things get a bit more exciting next season!

I've took a break from my Blackpool save for now. Second season has started really bad and I'm not happy with the signings I made, I had bought Savic (former Man City player irl) on the game he's a wonderkid and he only cost me £5.5 million, but sadly didn't get a work permit and neither did another CB I went for and Varane rejected us so I panicked and bought Boyata from Man City for £18 million and he's not worth it. I've now got a save going on with my hometown club Gillingham. We are in League Two atm, and the board wants me to win promotion, as of typing this out we are 4th, so one place below automatic promotion, we have lost only two times all year but drawn loads. Cody McDonald just like irl when he played for the Gills is smashing in goals; 18 goals in 20 league games atm. He's only on loan will be hoping to sign him permanently. The save is bringing back a lot of memories for me as I no longer live in Gillingham. For instance I was so gutted when we sold Simeon Jackson to Norwich I remember thinking we could of got a million for him and only got £700k and McDonald on loan. Still, my best ever football memory was going to Wembley for the League Two play off final against Shrewsbury back in 2009, we lost to them earlier in the season 7-1!! with Grant Holt scoring, anyway, the last minute of the game Simeon Jackson scores from a corner and we got promoted! (we did get relegated the next year, but that's besides the point ) Also, bit of a fun fact, Wembley holds 80,000 seats and yes I know Gillingham vs. Shrewsbury wasn't full but out of all them seats I was sat behind a friend from school, what were the chances?

Carlsberg don't do youth intakes, but if they did... A really good intake this season giving us 3 particularly good prospects across 3 key positions. Lorenz Fischer, Niklas Kohler and Marcel Hahn are all looking like really exciting prospects and will almost definitely start to feature from next season and have the potential to become real stars for the club, especially as we're still particularly strapped for cash.
